The sword is found on the dwarves around 70,77.

It has a very low drop rate so you may be there a while, but it's good XP, I did it at level 30 (Hunter) with a 30 priest.

This is a random drop off of any dwarf, though Captain Ironhill tends to drop it a lot.

You actually dont need a group to enter the mines, but it is recommended, since you often get attacked by groups of mobs at the time...Pretty hard to do alone, but it is possible tho,,,The Sword have very low drop rate, and can at some point make the quest booring, but you can allso do http://www.wowhead.com/?quest=541
Would be better, since you are already killing the dwarfs and the Captain :P
But the Group thing is strongly recommended, since some of the mobs are pretty strong...

i did it solo as a lvl 32 hunter needed to use fegin dead ALOT too many mobs gang up i did the quest with 4 charactters ither my realm is amazing or lucky i got the sword of the second mob with all my guys fun quest waist of time

this is very easy to solo as a level 28 beast mastery spcced hunter. i got ½ level doing this quest, before it dropped. just dont pull more than 1 at a time, and make sure to use concussive shot if they are fleeing towards some more dwarves.

I soloed this quest as a level 27 Affliction 'Lock and caught a break. The sword dropped off my second dwarf (a Rifleman - level 30 Elite). On top of that, I didn't have to use any potions, scrolls, or healthstones!!

Coordinate first strike with Succubus and Immolate
Hit with Curse of Agony (Amplified if you have it), and Corruption
Hit with high-powered wand (Lesser Mystic wand in my case)
When you start to take hits, immediately start draining
Refresh Debuffs
When mob is almost 25% health, hit with Curse of Recklessness to prevent from fleeing
Wand or drain to death

I solo'ed as a lvl 31 fire mage. All the enemies are manageable at this level, highest none-boss type is 30. Very slow respawn time so take your time killing them (I waited about 5 minutes before they started to spawn again). I then went all the way through with a lvl 33 priest and it was a cake-walk. We grabbed 2 at a time and had no trouble taking them out.

I got my Sword from a random drop, not from the Captain (his respawn may be very, very long).

I was picking up 300 - 350 xp a kill, great for level grinding!

I actually somehow got the sword after the first kill. VERY highly recommended to go as a group, mobs are very tough here.

sadly, i finally solo'd this at lvl 40 rogue.

Grinded the sword for about 2-3 hours with my hunter, from lvl 26-28, and it never dropped, so halfway to lvl 29 I abandoned the quest. And yes, I did have the quest in my quest log.

Combine it with Part 6 of the Battle of Hillsbrad quest and you will be ok....!!! I've done this q. at lvl 26 with another Lock and they dropped the Sword two times...!!! They are too many Dwarfs around here and you have to be too unlucky to search it for long time...!!!

All three of the quests in Dun Garok (Humbert's Sword, Battle of Hillsbrad 2nd to last part, and Elixir of Agony 2nd to last part) are all easily soloable at level 28+. That hardest mob you'll fight is Captain Ironhill who is level 32, the rest of the mobs are level 28-30.

This quest has a pretty bad drop-rate, go to the south east corner of Hillsbrad Foothills and you will see some dwarves, you can kill any of those and it should randomly drop. Very good quest for racking up experience, but not the best quest for finishing quick.

Fairly easy quest, I was easily able to solo it at level 29 with a rouge, I gained a couple levels while doing it so in my mind it was time well spent :D

I did this as a 28 lock and had no troubles besides the fact that there arnt many dwarvs to kill and there were about 5 others working on the same quest. I cleared the place about 5 times after the others left before the sword dropped.

I am either very lucky, or the drop rate has been changed. I finally got around to doing this quest at level 34 (Blood Elf Hunter) and after three or so kills one of the dwarves dropped the sword. I remember attempting to do this quest on my other characters and finally giving up after hours of grinding the dwarves with no drop, but I'm not complaining this time around.

I've seen it drop 3 times off the same guy on both my characters... if you are looking at building from the entrance dont go inside but on the right side of the building therre is a tent and a guy off the to right of a tent.(sumtimes there is a chest by him) he droped it both times on my charactetrs so idk if it drops off him everytime but i suggest going there...

I found this sword in a drop of a rifleman, who's on the right side of the entrance into the Dun Garkok. And I found it every time I did that quest.

I think this site is good luck. I was reading the comments on this quest. and when I switched back, I was down to 65% and being attacked by a Mountaineer. I killed him and got the sword on that drop. I'm a 28 warrior btw. very easily soloable. judging by my one kill =D

Do not for some reason feel that the sword would be on a mob indoors.
I began to kills mobs on the way up the path, killed a few to the left by the machine; I had not even gotten to the door guards.
Then I decided to loot everyone,even the first two.
Guess what I pick up? I had killed 7 on the way up the path, the second one had the sword.
Was good luck, but I almost ignored them thinking that would just be too easy!

just soloed this as 26 assassination rogue- all mobs were higher lvl than me so stealthed in, distracted, sapped, cheap shot, then backstab. can b finished off any way u like- i chose rupture after a few sinister strikes. did pull more than one mob once, but vanished and started again- also used 1 or 2 pots along the way. got my drop in + or - 5 mobs

most people's comments talk about it a lot of time but it took me one kill to get the drop as a 30 tauren druid. i swam to the eastern strand, killed the rare spawn and a few daggerspines, headed inland towards Dun Garok and killed one guy with a hammer/mace looking weapon equipped and got the drop.

For me i didnt have ti go into the forstress i found homberts sword on my third kill, outside of the fortress, i killed a dun garok rifleman one of the two standing out side by the two tanks. I went in as a lvl 32 bloodelf warlock. its not a hard quest to do, just once you get double or triple teamed then things get difficult

Drop rates were greatly increased for many items such as Humbert's Sword in patch 3.0.3 which is why people are suddenly reporting the drop within a few kills.

i prowled (druid cat form or stealth)all the way up to the balcony where the rifleman work on the planes.then ikilled one that was workin on a plane thing and he droped it . i kiled one dwarf. theres a high spawn rate at the barrack type things. anyways soloed it at 30 balance spec druid

I managed to solo this at level 27 as an undead rogue, and was lucky enough to find the item after only pulling 5 npc's (one at a time of course).

Stealth, ambush, use poison to make sure their speed is reduced by 70%, back away and finishing move when they run. They won't get very far or call for help when you cut them down.

I did this on my 26 Warrior, and I got it in a few minutes of grinding, reading some of these posts, I feel pretty lucky. It's random from all dwarves as I got it from a rifleman.

High Executor Darthalia sent me to keep watch of Dun Garok from a distance. I had set up camp just out of sight. But when morning came and I had to boil water, I left to gather firewood.

When I returned to camp, I discovered my gear was missing.

Apparently some dwarven scouts from Dun Garok had passed by and made off with it. I need my sword! If you can get it back for me I would be so grateful. So many dwarves there...it will be quite difficult to find the dirty little thief who stole it.
