Demon Hunter Class Guides Updated for 10.2 Rework - Talent Positions, New Talents

With Patch 10.2 already live and Season 3 starting this week, it is a good moment to highlight our Demon Hunter class guides. Both Havoc and Vengeance received substantial change with Patch 10.2 and both currently are among the most promising specs in the new season.
Havoc Demon Hunter Rework in Patch 10.2
Havoc received a rather significant amount of changes heading into Patch 10.2, enough to nearly be called a rework in its own right. A couple of talents such as
Cuore di Vilfuoco
and the largely disliked
Carne alla Fiamma
were entirely removed from the spec tree.
Decreto Elisio
was moved into the class tree making it a competitive node against
Angoscia Collettiva
. Many talents received changes or new talents came in such as
Vilraffica
being reworked to be a resource drain for up to 8 seconds, and being added.
The most notable changes to playstyle are based on a few changes and a single new talent. Havocs fury generation was significantly reduced by
Preda Isolata
being reworked to no longer generate fury on Fel Rush, and
Appetito Demoniaco
becoming baseline while nerfed to 20 fury per soul.
Metamorfosi Demoniaca
had its cooldown and duration reduced from 3 minutes to 2 minutes, and from 24 seconds to 20 seconds respectively. Mixing these fury generation nerfs with
Appetito Demoniaco
being nerfed from 8 fury per 0.1s extension to 12 and
Demone
being reduced from 6 seconds to 5 however means the uptime of
Metamorfosi Demoniaca
has dropped significantly despite the increased frequency of actually casting the cooldown. The other large change in playstyle is
Inerzia
added as a choice node against
Momentum
, inertia currently looks stronger and will significantly reduce the frequency of
Vilscatto
being used in the rotation. It is worth noting with our new talent
Fuoco Interiore
which is run in all builds with
Inerzia
causes
Vilscatto
to be cast for damage more than you might expect due to the increased amount of
Rogo Rovente
casts.
Havoc Demon Hunter Guide
Vengeance Demon Hunter Rework in Patch 10.2
Vengeance Demon Hunters have gotten quite a substantial number of changes in Patch 10.2.
Many talent positions have changed and talent costs have been reduced, allowing us to access more talents. We've also gotten
Sigillo della Fiamma
baseline and multiple buffs to many of our abilities, giving us much better damage profile overall. In addition, we gained new talents such as
Sigilli Illuminati
which allows us to differentiate builds more between Raid and Mythic+. Our basic rotation will not change too much from before, but we've got a wider variety of possible talent builds that can be played, and slight change in stat priority as well.
Some highlights for baseline changes are:
Significant numerical buffs to
Sigillo della Fiamma
,
Frattura
,
Fendente d'Anima
,
Bomba Spirituale
leading to roughly 15% baseline DPS increase compared to the previous tier.
Reduced cooldown on both
Metamorfosi Demoniaca
(from 3 minutes to 2 talented) and
Vildevastazione
(from 1 minute to 40 seconds), giving us significantly (~33%) more uptime on one of our bigger cooldowns.
Extended duration by 2 seconds on
Sigillo della Fiamma
and
Marchiatura Ardente
.
Marchiatura Ardente
now ticks every second instead of 2, which also allows
Bruciato Vivo
to spread more quickly.
Carne Carbonizzata
has had its effect added to
Sigillo della Fiamma
as well as
Marchiatura Ardente
.
In addition to the above, the hidden cap on
Bruciato Vivo
and
Carne Carbonizzata
has been removed, allowing for more maximum spread targets and allowing us to extend our spells even longer (even double extension in some cases).
In addition, with the new
Sigilli Illuminati
and buffs to our other Sigil talents, we will be looking to build heavily upon this foundation.
All in all, we've gained substantial baseline damage increases in both ST and AoE, a minor ST/major AoE survivability increase, and significant gains to utility in M+ with flexible talent changes for different situations. Compared to patch 10.1.7, we are seeing ~15% DPS gain, nearly 70% uptime on
Sigillo della Fiamma
with the new parry in M+, ~33% more uptime on
Metamorfosi Demoniaca
, and potentially double the uptime on
Marchiatura Ardente
with up to 3 times as many spread targets.
