Colossus Warriors are the peak of pure physical might and resilience. They are veterans of countless battles and have the scars to show for it. Colossus’ know not only how to take a hit and keep going, but how and where to put their strikes to use to ensure their enemies don’t.

Demolish is a 2 second channel, and the Warrior is unable to move or use other abilities while channeling, similar to Eye Beam. A Colossus player will have to think tactically about when and where is optimal to use it. This is an intentional part of the flavor of the ability.
The “you are grounded” terminology in Unstoppable Force was intended to reflect granting an immunity to stuns and knockbacks. The tooltip has been updated with more clear language.

Additionally, please note that Demolish will be cancelable. You can cancel Demolish if you decide you need to move or do something else while unleashing the attacks.

On some levels, this really is a skill issue: the "tactical" aspect of knowing when and where to use Demolish so that it won't get you killed. It's also worth noting that Fyr'alath doesn't actually get players killed often either; most users very quickly figure out when they can and cannot use it, though the increased frequency of casting Demolish every 30-45 seconds instead of every 2 minutes could certainly impact that.

Fyr'alath is also a hasted 3-second channel, typically reduced to anywhere between 2.4 - 2 seconds between 25% - 50% haste. While we don't yet know if Demolish will be hasted as well, a periodic 1.6 - 1.3 second channel should not be a significant gameplay issue within the vast majority of content.

Mechanically, Colossus will aim to deliver some of the biggest melee hits around, and sometimes those big hits come from knowing precisely when and where to hit their target for maximum effectiveness.

Every hit of Demolish will hit hard, so you’ll want to use it as soon as you can.

The Warrior class tree will receive a significant re-arrangement in The War Within, and we are pleased to confirm that it is possible and easy to take Storm Bolt and Shockwave at once. We’d also like to add that we are positioning Shockwave primarily as a utility ability, so the bonus damage passive talent will be be removed.

We wanted to call this out as the Colossus tree interacts with Shockwave in a few places.

This doesn't mean it's a bad bonus; it's actually quite interesting, it just feels oddly... small as the sum total of Colossus visual identity, though the yet to be revealed Demolish animation may make up for that.

This also ties into . It typically takes ~25-35 seconds to cast 10 Mortal Strikes, so crits are important to reach max stacks quickly enough for the cooldown reduction to have value, but you'll always progress towards it with each cast.

The real question here is what happens during the Execute phase, and whether Mortal Strike will lose priority to Execute at the expense of weaker and less frequent Demolish casts or whether the Execute phase will be reduced in favor of maintaining Colossal Might. Keep in mind that diminishing emphasis on Execute is not necessarily a bad thing however, as Slayer has been teased to have more focus on that phase.

This probably won't make much of a difference in terms of gameplay or talent builds, as most of those talents are taken anyway and crit is already a strong early stat for Arms, but it helps establish the theme, as larger crits help reinforce the "big hits idea" that Colossus and Demolish are trying to sell.

Allowing Cleave and Whirlwind to trigger Colossal Might may seem like a more obvious way to allow Colossus to work with different builds, though the design intent appears to be using One Against Many for burst multitarget potential on encounters with infrequent adds like Painsmith or Fyrakk, while Arterial Bleed is built for more sustained multitarget damage found in most Mythic+ dungeons.

It's interesting that both hero specializations revealed so far have had utility talents benefiting stuns, as well as their expected survivability bonuses. In both cases, Colossus feels like it came out ahead of the talents offered by Mountain Thane, though Arms was already inherently less survivable than Fury. Being available to both Arms and Fury, it'll be interesting to see what Slayer offers.
