Starting the Questline
The 8.3 questline actually has a pre-requisite: you must have unlocked
Nazjatar
and
Azerite Essences
for your character before you receive the starting quest.
On the PTR, you do not currently need to have the War Campaign completed
For Fresh Characters, these are the steps you must take.
Start Battle for Azeroth content with
(Battle for Azeroth) L'ora della Resa dei Conti
/
(Battle for Azeroth) L'ora della Resa dei Conti
, which leads to Battle for Lordaeron (skippable for subsequent characters).
Complete the follow-up questline ultimately leading to
Una nazione divisa
/
Reciproca utilità
.
Unlock World Quests with
Riunire Kul Tiras
/
Riunire Zandalar
on your first character or
Riunire Kul Tiras
/
Riunire Zandalar
for subsequent ones. This unlocks Nazjatar and Darkshore.
Go to Nazjatar (
L'offensiva del lupo
/
L'ordine della Capoguerra
) and complete its intro until Magni Bronzebeard shows up (after
La strada di casa
/
La strada di casa
).
Complete Magni's Intermission up to
Ottenere il potere
and
Un consigliere indesiderato
/
Il ritorno del Principe Nero
, the starting quest for 8.3, will show in your questlog.
Why Should You Complete the Introduction Questline from Visions of N'zoth?
Patch 8.3 Introduction questline is one of the longest introduction questlines that Blizzard has made for a content patch in recent years, as it can take around 1.5 - 2 hours to complete the whole ordeal. While the length of the questline can be pretty disheartening, it has a good reason for being this long.
The questline basically runs you through all the systems you will encounter in Patch 8.3, from Assaults, to Horrific Visions, to unlocking your legendary cloak, it is all done in this introduction questline, without time-gating (that we know of) or waiting around for hours on Mission table quests.
The questline also has quite significant rewards, like the new legendary cloak
Ashjra'kamas, Manto della Risolutezza
and it unlocks many of the new Azerite Essences.

Reaching Key Locations for Visions of N'zoth
Throughout the intro quests and the patch, there will be a lot of travel involved, as it uses known locations from previous expansions like the Vale of Eternal Blossoms and Uldum.

How to Reach Uldum
In order to reach Uldum, the best way is to use the Uldum portal in Stormwind and Orgrimmar. Note that this portal is located with the Cataclysm portals and not in the portal room for each city. Other way is to take the portal from Zuldazar/Boralus to Silithus and fly from there.
Engineers can use their
Teletrasporto Ultrasicuro: Meccania
to get to Tanaris and Dark Iron Dwarves can use their
Trivella
to Fire Plume Ridge in Un'goro Crater after unlocking that location.
How to Reach Vale of Eternal Blossoms
In order to reach Vale of Eternal Blossoms, the best way is to use the Jade Forest portal, located in the Portal Room in Stormwind and Orgrimmar.
Mago
s can use Teleport and

, and
Sentiero degli Shandaren
.
How to Reach Blackwing Descent
While not a prominent location in the patch, you will need to go there during the introduction questline. Alliance players can easily fly from Stormwind to Blackwing Descent, however, Horde players don't have it that easy. Horde players can teleport to the Dark Portal in Blasted Lands by talking with the
Mago di Thrallmar
in the Orgrimmar Portal Room.
Mago
