Dropped off of a Blackfathom tide priestess . . Not inside the instance, but inside the building- after swimming under the wall.

I had to kill about 13-15 mobs.

You Must get the corrupted Kor Gem Quest from auberdine.. the drop from finishing this quest is the purified Gem.

without the 2nd quest you will not ever find the gem

Purified Core Gem: The final piece requires that you travel to Kalimador. You will need to take the boat from menethil to Darnassus (Teldrassil). Be sure to stop by the gryphon masters to acuire new flightpaths. You will need to take the boat from Teldrassil to darkshore which is just on the otherside of the dock. Once in darkshore speak with Thundris Windreaver in Auberdine http://www.wowhead.com/?npc=3649 After getting the quest "Seeking the Kor Gem" Head south to Ashenvale and the entrence to Blackfathom Deeps is located around 15,15. Its located inside the ruins of a temple, you will see a pit with water at the bottom and stairs taking you down to it. Once you are in the water dive and you will find that you can swim under one of the walls and actually enter Blackfathom Deeps. You will not have to travel deep inside, it usually drops off the second or third Wrathtail. Once you have the gem travel back to Thundris Windreaver.
