They don't "sparkle" like other quest objects.

Well they are all in same spot, place where you kill Jormuttar (Frost crater).

The "non-sparkley" bit had me for a moment. Can't miss them once you realize this.

The reason they dont sparkle is that the smaller versions found on random spawn points throught Valley of Ancient Winters can be looted & turned in for 350 Sons of Hodir reputation. Sort of like the WotLK version of the netherwing eggs. Those are MUCH smaller though & pretty hard to spot if you dont know what you're looking for.

I found one on the little hill just right of the cave entrance. No glowy, and really small (gnome foot size small).

Edit: My bad! That's another thing: Everfrost Chip . Starts a quest.

The first one of these you find is a quest item that begins a quest to turn it in. once this is done you can collect as many as you like. Until the first one is handed in though, you will not be able to collect any more.

I found one just outside of Dun Niffelheim entrance, on the right, Frostfield lake side.....tell me .... has anyone ever found more than one?

For Everfrost Shard

Go inside the cave at 56,64 (bellow quest on your blizzard map)
At the middle of the cave there appears to be something like a frozen lake
There are many shards together like boulders or stalagmite.
