Incredible way to level your cooking with. The recipe does not turn yellow until 215 cooking, which makes for 40 guaranteed skillups.
The droprate from the snapjaws in Hillsbrad seems to have been buffed by a large amount since 2.3, which makes grinding these mobs for fifteen minutes a most excellent way to level up your cooking by a large amount.

I've heard that since 2.3 the quest for this recipe is no longer available... Where can this recipe be purchased now? ....or has it become a world-drop?

Turtle meat has suddenly had it's drop rate boosted considerably, so this makes the recipe in high demand to those who didn't do the quest before the patch! =)

This post is for players who stupidly like myself vendored all of their "quest only" patterns for cooking then decided you wanted them all back when you decided to finally level it....open a ticket and ask a GM to have the item restored....they will forward the request to the "lost items" department & in a few days they should send it to you via ingame mail :)

EASIEST WAY TO DO THIS NOW, If you sold the recipe, make a death knight and get it and send it to your character, or get it on your death knight if you have one.

There is a weekly limit to restores by the reset period. Feel free to ask for it back.

It also appears that while on this quest the drop rate for Turtle Meat is doubled. I often found myself getting two meats per kill, while after I was lucky to get one. Grind away until you get several stacks before turning in.

Some interesting information on this recipe:-

Bisque is a type of thick creamy soup, essentially this recipe is just a turtle soup.

Interestingly in victorian times turtle was known to be a high class of meat but being as it was so exspensive chefs made a different type of soup.called "Mock Turtle Soup" the irony of it was that turtle meat wasnt used at all in the dish instead they used beef (mainly the less popular cuts like oxtail etc)

the Mock turtle is also a fictional character in the book " Alice in Wonderland"

Turtles are in the river along side Tarren Mill. Meats are 100% drop rate, sometimes 2 meat per turtle.

You must have cooking learned (skill level of 1 is fine) to obtain the quest. If you still can't get the quest, you did it before and probably sold or destroyed your recipe.

Just saw this on AH, so not sure that it has been removed. 10g, too.

This quest was removed in Cataclysm, thus destroying one of the greatest cooking recipes for leveling in the game. The only way to get this recipe now is to buy it off the AH, but the likelihood of finding it is somewhat slim. I've leveled countless alts' cooking with this recipe in the past few years. What a disappointment.

I've seen two recipes selling at the Warsong-Horde AH for 200G each from 2 different sellers...
So I believe there is a vendor selling this recipe somewhere...

The recipe itself cannot be obtained via quest anymore.
You may, however, learn the recipe from any Cooking Trainer in the game.

As of right now, unless you got dirge's recipe, or manage to buy it, with the removal of the sporeling snack, you need both guild recipes to get the Iron Chef achiev.

(recipes removed in the first of cata)
Kaldorei Spider Kabob
Fillet of Frenzy
Tasty Lion Steak
Charred Bear Kabobs
Juicy Bear Burger
Soothing Turtle Bisque

have all been added back with your trainer.

Also, Dig Rat Stew and Undermine Clam Chowder are now back into the game,

I have all the recipes, except seafood magnifique, dirges, and thistle tea, and tho i got my Iron Chef achiev before the removal of the sporeling snack, and my total on ackis recipes list is 199.
