This looks like an excellent tank trinket. 57 stam would pretty much be worthy of a trinket slot on it's own and the proc is also very nice. The only problem I can see with the proc is that if a spell takes you below 35% while you're still being hit in melee you might not get the extra dodge when it though it would still be useful.

This trinket adds a little over 20% dodge upon dropping below 35% health. This, combined with the incredible amounts of stamina, make it an obvious choice for anyone tanking bosses that hit extremely hard, such as Prince, Halazzi, and Tidewalker.

In addition to this, it could make an interesting PvP trinket. Of course, by using it you're taking the chance that you might not face melee attacks, or may be up against a warrior using Overpower, but as a shadow priest who's regularly the main target of any attacks, this could make for an interesting choice in terms of an "arena tank" trinket. After any tanks get it, of course.

This trinket is going to be sought after like a child after candy.

PvP'ers are going to love this. Melee matches between rogue/warrior? Warrior gets low = 20% dodge vs. the rogue or vice versa as well as dodging finishing moves. Same the other way around. Rogues speccing Cheat Death will also love this trinket. Thats even only talking the proc and not the 57 stamina.

For PvE'ers, as a Feral Druid, this will replace my usual combo of Moroes + Badge of Tenacity. I will most likely replace Moroes, though i will keep it in the bags for swapping when Badge is on cooldown. The Stamina alone is incrediable, but the low cooldown on the proc really makes this trinket amazing.

Prepare to fight for this trinket. Many people will want it. I will personally run the Heroic EVERY day until i get this baby.

This item is extremely powerful as a Paladin tank, with Ardent Defender reducing incoming damage by 30% when below 35% health. This talent in addition to this trinket might save you the necessary few seconds needed for those crucial heals to land. In addition to that, it has a lot of stamina, which makes the Gnomish Poultrylizer and the Goblin Rocket Launcher useless (Except for using the launcher for pulling purposes).

This isn't a paladin trinket, this isn't a warrior trinket, this isn't a druid trinket.

It's a tank trinket.

It benefits all tanks equally since dodge is pretty much the only type of avoidance that reduces dmg taken by 100%. (chance to be missed caps, blocking still causes you to take a decent amount of damage, and while parrying is good, it makes you hit the boss more often... raising threat but you're getting extra attacks, that he may parry, so he gets extra attacks, which could pwn your face)

It would be useful in pvp (I know some priests who would kill for 20% dodge when a rogue is beating them down below 35%) but it's still more useful for tanks, and when you're running a PvE instance, priority should go to someone who will use that gear... for pve. It'd be the same as a tank needing on cataclysm's edge because he wants to use it for pvp, and the ret pally (who needs it for pve) doesn't get it.

meaning if you're at 50% health and you get hit for 20% of your health (putting you at 30% health) it would proc and for the next melee attack you'd have the buff?

or would you get hit, be at 30% and have no increased dodge and then it procs on the next hit?

It seems from the description it would do the first way, but a lot of people are describing it as the latter.

Was nerfed in the latest PTR build. Went from 380 dodge rating (20.08% chance to dodge) to 152 dodge rating (8.03% chance to dodge). Still a very powerful trinket since it has more stamina than any other trinket in the game. (source)

If by some chance you can get procmania and have the following happen simultaneously
This procs for 152 dodge
Shattered Sun Pendent of Resolve (Aldor) procs for 100 dodge
Idol of terror procs for 65 agi
Badge of Tenacity procs for 150 agi
that would equal 28% dodge.

Badge of Tenacity and this make for the best Feral Druid tank trinket combo in the game. When you're close to the Armor cap, you can switch out one or the other (for me, the Badge) for Shadowmoon Insignia and re-slot/gem/enchant/etc. a few of your +Defense trinkets in favor of more Agility and Stamina.

Great trinket. Absolutely fantastic.

But this is a tank trinket, and it's pretty much useless in PvE for any non-tank, so if you think you're getting this before your tank-- think again. Unless he or she already has it, or is mentally challenged and doesn't want it, in which case go ahead and PvP with it so Warriors can Overpower you into next week.

Just Looted this trinket on my warrior.

By far one of the best tanking trinkets in my arsenal. of course the stam is great but when "Evasive Maneuvers" procs along side mongoose and with the use of my pocketwatch i can achieve a staggering 55% dodge rating.

Its pretty neat to, the buff icon is identical to that of the Sub-Rogue "cheat death"

I just picked this up 2 nights ago on my Feral druid tank. Absolutely incredible trinket that hopefully won't get nerfed.

152 dodge rating = ~8% dodge

Proc: From my experience the proc is guaranteed once you are at 35% or below. You get a 10-second long buff that gives you the dodge rating & it won't proc again for 20 seconds after it wears off. It DOES share its cooldown with the Moroes pocket watch trinket, but you can pop that while you wait for its cooldown. I tanked Prince last night and this thing is incredibly useful for this fight in phase 2.

Now if only it would drop for my warrior :(

One function that this trinket has that I had not considered was in hard hitting fights where your health is often knocked below 35% it will proc and then the next heal or two u are back to full but still have the added 8% dodge. I noticed this proced 4 times durring my first fight with the ZA Bear boss after having the trinket drop for me. This made it very nice b/c about 1/4 the fight i had the additional dodge sitting me over 32% dodge.

The +57 stamina is nice for anyone who needs a bit of a HP increase in fights like these, or in casual pvp (I'm a holy priest). It was nice to get this today to upgrade my http://www.wowhead.com/?item=32864 since no one wanted it (the tank already had it).

For pvp, this would probably work with a rogue best because of Cheat Death.

However, if your tank doesn't have it yet, let him get it.

Tanks should make this a goal at some point to get. The machines tanking heroic Magisters will probably find this a small amount of health lol. Good on rogues who like stamina and dodge stacking, especially since its similar to cheat death. This compliments the darkmoon cards people often use for tanking, madness and vengeance if not mistaken. Great money value alternative if you want stamina from trinkets to sum it up.

Most druids tank has had Badge of Tenacity and Moroes Pocket Watch before this came out.

Simpler rules how to get it:
-choose your team careful (you need a good healer and minimum 2 classes for cc and yes mage mage lock seems to be the best or a rogue for some stun locks) I know all are imba xd but when you will start to wipe players will argue and the group might brake so no there is no point to start with the wrong team
-ask before, you never know from where that lock, mage hek even rogue will show and say "wow that a nice trinket for pvp I’m gona need it to" xd for them consider these ... you think that dodge will save you? well think of a combat rogue ho already have weapon expertise maxed (10) and got Shard of Contempt (44 expertise rating) do the math I’m lazy... hmm that precious dodge is not so much now ^^
-inspect your team gear (that suppose to be the tougher heroic atm you don’t want to get in there with to many blue items)
-be prepare for lots of runs (I got mine after 24 run or so)

These post is not intended to get some one upset or leave out some classes is more for ho want to avoid lots of wipes and way to many hours spent in there... at least it work for me.

Once you're below 35% health, it procs. Doesn't need a melee swing after that point.

Side note, if you're healed to full after you go below 35%, you'll still have the 152 dodge rating for however long ;p

Basicly this trinket needed only for boss fights or PvP action, in easy raids or trash you should never go down below 60% health , in boss fights or PvP it happens a lot , so for example druids badge of tenacity more functional in use than this one , i suggest wear another "use" trinkets during trash fights and switch for this one before boss .

Since this was ranked down, let me expound.

If your healers consitantly keep u below 35% while tanking, then yes it is worth it (replace the pocket watch)

If you hardly ever drop below 35%, then dont get it.

Again, it depends on your healers.

You will always go below 35% when tanking any melee-heavy raid boss that you do not over-gear. Hell, you can take ~20k damage in less than a second on Brutallus. Illidan can drop you low when he is enraged, Kalecgos, his demon, Bloodboil, RoS, Morogrimm, gruul, high king, prince, etcetc.

If you're staying at 100% the entire fight, you're outgearing the instance by far.

This is one of the best tanking trinkets.

It procs from ANY melee shot that reduces your health to ANY PERCENT less than 35%.

If you are on 30% and get hit for 5% to bring you to 25%, it still has a chance to proc because they hit reduced your health BELOW 35%. If you are on 10% and get brought down to 7%, it has a chance to proc etc etc.

It doesn't mean this :

The NEXT shot that brings your health below 35% causes you to gain 152 dodge rating for 10 sec.

Look at the grammr layout :

Equip: Melee attacks which reduce you below 35% health cause you to gain 152 dodge rating for 10 sec.

I'm about to go insane because of this damn trinket, I've run H mgt every day for about two months now and it has yet to drop... The damn white hawkstrider mount has dropped twice but NO all I get is freakin timbals and that GOD AWFUL healing trinket. Is this like a way low drop rate or something?

So what would be a case where you would drop this trinket in WLK? I'm finding myself hanging onto Essence of Gossamer, Seal of the Pantheon, and Valor Medal of the First War. But I use Essence with Commendation for AOE, Valor and Commendation for bosses when uncrittable, and SotP w/ Commendation when I need the def to reach uncrit (if I'm swapping in other gear upgrades w/ less defense).

A passive proc and great stam boost seems to be making this a trinket you hang on to for a long time (BWL trinkets and Darkmoon Card: Blue Dragon found a lot of BC late-game use).

152 Dodge Rating is 3.86% dodge at level 80. It is also worth noting that excluding Jewelcrafting/Engineering/Alchemy, this is the second highest stamina trinket in the game behind Essence of Gossamer.

Still good in WOTLK if you don't have access to the tradeskill stamina trinkets. Wearing it with the Essence of Gossamer.

Since Blizz decided to do away with tanking trinket quest rewards in WotLK, this thing is a godsend for new DK tanks. Grab a decent healer and you can easily 2-man MgT at 80. Should tide you over until you get the essence and anoth lvl 80 trinket.

It's good for nitch fights. Honestly it's not that bad for tanking Vezax if you're defense cap/block cap with it. Almost every time i actually take a hit from him, he puts me below 35% health, activating the trinket. That's another 3.86% chance to not take a hit.

Again it's really only going to shine for you, *if* you are able to make up most of your other stats.

I STILL use this trinket quite regularly, best to use on Patchwerk (who periodically brings you down below 35%), Fights like Sarth+3 or Hodir (Where there are a lot of OH CRAP moments from big spell hits, usually followed by a melee hit from sarth or in the case of hodir his frozen blows are still considered melee). I use it on Gluth (he will never kill you with one shot from Decimate but it will always proc). Fights like these it is effectively a 152 Dodge on a 30sec CD. Heart of Iron DOES beat it out, but i'm pretty sure if when i get the 3 Sta. Trinkets (Heart of Iron, Essence of Gossamer, and This). I'd probably stick with this over the extra 50sta on Essence, just because of how sexy the proc is.
P.S. I play druid tank, so the resist fights still don't require me to stack anything but stamina and X resist.

I'm surprised nobody has talked about the Timewarped version of this trinked, at iLevel 425 +809 Stamina and +644 Dodge when under 35% health. There is practically nothing about this online.
