Can this be farmed if you don't pick it up from the Cipher of Damnation quest chain? In other words, if you pick a different reward from that quest chain, can you get this as a drop?

no drop on first kill for me, and yes, i got the quest ^_^

Yeh i got mine on my what was it umm i think i lost count around 200th kill. i had 4 green drops mined 3 veins and spent 2 hrs lookin for this thing. horrible drop rate. finnaly dropped offa illidari shocktrooper though:].

Took 3 total kills to drop for me. Kill a painlasher, then a satyr, then a shocktrooper and it dropped.

I also got it off a painlasher ( the one teamed with the dreadbringer no less) and it was like my 17th kill give or take

"I was stood around at 32,52 reading Thottbot to see where the bow dropped after killing about 10 mobs and when I tabbed back I was being attacked by an Illidari Shocktrooper...who dropped the bow for me :) " (Member from TB) and some 1 mentioned killing the big demon with his sister
so..
I waited at 31,55 for the big dreadbringer & his sister .. got the bow on the 1st kill after killing more than 40+ mobs ..

i was thinking: "maybe the dreadbringer has it" from really stupid reason: he was thebiggest demon there. so i killed him and BOOM,i got the bow

Oh yah.... "I went and checked out the big demon, oh wow first drop!" I've killed all the "big demons" including the one with it's own unique name, no drop so far.... maybe it'll drop on the smallest demon. ^.^ A cute little succubus perhaps? :P
