100 % drop for me. I don't think i was that lucky, that never happens to me. So I guess they improved the drop rate.

this may sound very stupid, but they only dropped for me when the mobs where on land and not in the water...

Not sure if it was any significance, and probably not, but every time i prevented the Spawns from hitting me with poison, I got a drop, I.E. Maim before their spell finished casting. got 4/5 this way, the other i got just killing normally. Prolly just a random that it happend, but cool enough to post

Wow, you're luckier than me. I got my 1st drop after 21 of them. These guys are amazingly hard to kill as a balance druid. Nature immune = bad

First time, I got a drop. But the second, well, it took about three hours, with a hundred kills. Filled the arrow bag up about twenty times.

Lawl i got all under 8 kills...must have increased drop rate in 3.0.

I had to get a group of 5 for this quest. Took about 3 hours but it was worth it. I was by myself and kept getting gank'd like every minute or two.

I just did this a few minutes ago ( wowhead is open while I quest) and I got 5 drops in 9 kills. 41, 36 general area outside the Boulderfist cave.

every 3rd guy I killed I got 1 core, so the drop rate wasn't so bad for me.

I got my first after about 10 kills, the drop rate is really bad.

On the upside, you get lots of motes of water for killing these guys.

:: IMPORTANT ::

Just finished this quest. At first i was REALLY discouraged, i grinded mobs for about 15 minutes down south of Halaa, and did not get one core.

Then i decided to change my tactics. I moved up to the area south of the Boulderfist cave, and began killing the mobs. It made a huge difference. I got all 5 cores within 9 kills. I highly suggest grinding them there.
