Well, let me tell you a thing... it is.
So are the oth er ite ms you can buy for 2k from the various vendors.

Edit: Some more research on this thing:

Can be used while mounted.
That other item gets really useful, since they can be now farmed for scrolls and drop tremendous amounts of overflow needed to buy these.
The item does not stack, yay for wasted inventory space.
The effect also does not stack, yay for not being able to free up bag space
This small chance we're talking about gets really random, could go 5 or 30 minutes without drop before I started counting, at the end of the day it probably still does make some difference when farming that one achievement.
Ya'll gonna be swimming in overflow trying to farm the achievement anyways.

Some data on drops (ain't much yet, started counting after like 10 drops using this):

Drop 1 (Bone Pile): 5 treasures
Drop 2 (Volcanakk): 13 encounters 9 treasures 1 hoard
Drop 3 (Avian Trove): 6 treasures
Drop 4 (Avian Trove, this actually took 2 crystals): 11 encounters 13 treasures 1 hoard
Drop 5 (Stonescaled Cairn): 3 encounters 9 treasures

This consumable is stupid. It doesn't work like the scroll for finding chests for example. What it does do is gives you a buff for 60min to help you find a single sealed scroll. But that buff removes itself the moment you get your first seal scroll drop. Thereafter you've got 2 choices: Either buy yet another Azure Scrying Crystal for 2k overflow or do what everyone else does and promptly ignore this item ever existed in the first place.

Good evening folks, I've come up with a method to somehow bypass the "consumed on use" effect.

WARNING: The bellow advise might be seen as EXPLOIT by BLIZZARD! It might just be a clever usage of game mechanics but do use this method having in mind you can angry Blizz!

Use the scroll, go to coordinates 59, 65 (where most SCROLL-farm groups are anyway) and start killing adds WITHOUT looting the corpses. Faster kills (with a group of 5), faster drop rate.
You can use SHIFT keyboard button to sneak-peak whether scrolls have accumulated in the loot table without actually losing the buff from the Azure Crystal.

This way with one usage of the crystal you can walk away with 3-4-5 scrolls. You should loot every 5-10minutes (but not more than that).

I go now to pray I don't get banned xD

This is useful for A caccia di pergamene. Other than that I would not use this, there are better things to spend your Sovraccarico Elementale on.

For an item to be this expensive to go away after 1 use, it should at least guarantee finding a sealed scroll.

They had to decrease the drop chance of finding scrolls using this item. I was finding scrolls every 5 minutes with the buff on when the patch first launched. I took a break from the game for a couple weeks and came back on to finish the achievement A caccia di pergamene and now it's been an hour without looting any scrolls.

Just used one and the buff ran out before I found a treasure? I looted about 40 treasures and killed god knows how many rares, can we fix this stupid item?

I feel that there might be some kind of hidden cooldown on this. I sped through most of the 50 scrolls I needed using this, but when I hit 40 out of 50 or so, the drop rate plummeted to the point I feel like I was hitting the natural droprate of scrolls instead of the boosted rate that this item offers.

I took a few days off and tried again with this item and scrolls were dropping quickly again. I even had a pack of mobs that dropped two simultaneously. This might just be my experience, but maybe try giving it a few days and come back to it when they stop dropping.

As someone who missed basically the entire Forbidden Reach patch cycle, I'm behind the 8-ball catching up on the meta for the Goodest Boy.

I just tried the Froststone Vault suggestion, and after 10-15mins 0 scrolls. So I just did the fly-around loot chests and kill rares, and got several. As suggested, turn off autoloot, just "look" at the loot, even loot everything but the scrolls. I then received them in the mail a few minutes later.

FYI the Sealed Fish Scrolls also qualify to use up the buff, just like the Treasure Scrolls.

Seriously though, 1 scroll per buff otherwise, wtf :(

The scrolls do not show up in the mail. Don't follow that advice.
