Be sure you are checking the tooltip, you can only use these once a week. I had 3 crafted and got 6 back due to procs. Not a loss but just know you have to wait. You get 5 mettle back per use(10 mettle to craft so technically spending only 5)

Ingredient quality level does not affect final product. If you're providing mats, use whatever is cheapest.

Technique: Draconic Treatise on Inscription is learned by choosing the Archiving specialization of inscription. Once choosing Archiving you will need to use 10 points toward the Shared Knowledge trait before you can learn the Draconic Treatises trait. After learning the trait, you can craft Draconic Treatise on Inscription which then has a chance to learn the other treatises. Each further treatise you choose has a random chance of teaching you a new treatise recipe.

Draconic Treatise on Herbalism is learned randomly by crafting any of the treatises.
