Zin'anthid is a reference to a type of soft coral known as zoanthids. Quite fitting considering where they are found. The node they are harvested from also looks very much like a zoanthid colony.

Rank 1 can be obtained by talking to either Rolm at 49, 61 in Nazjatar or Insturctor Ulooaka at 38, 53 in Nazjatar. You do need to have Battle Herbalism skill level 140+

Rank 2 can be obtained from Carnivorous Lasher - the rare, not the quest mob. The rare comes from Germinating Seed which has a small drop chance from mobs in Nazjatar and from gathering Zin'anthid. The first seed you'll get is a quest item which will phase you, but for the subsequent seeds, you will have to find some fertile soil in the Coral Reef area (best bet is to hang out at 54, 41 and announce when it spawns) to plant it. The second and beyond Lashers will not phase you, and you will have to collect 10 of the bugs to feed before it becomes attackable.

Rank 3 can be obtained from a Zin'anthid Tentacle, which has a small drop chance from gathering Zin'anthid nodes after having Rank 2. This is a simple turn-in quest where you return to either Rolm at 49, 61 in Nazjatar or Insturctor Ulooaka at 38, 53 in Nazjatar to turn in.

This herb is going to be in massive demand. 20 per flask, 8 per battle potion and used in every new recipe is insane for a herb found in a single zone. Expect high competition when farming this herb. I hope they add a "Transmute: Herbs to Zin'anthid", because the ratio of Zin'anthid to other herbs is about '3.5:1'. Being able to convert 5 of each old common herb into 20-30 Zin'anthid would be ideal.

Idk if anyone visits wow-professions or has the add on tom tom, but using the map from wow-professions, opening the add on "paste" and adding these coordinates WHILE IN NAZJATAR, I made a little path to mindlessly follow the arrow. Just copy and paste, it should work out. Sometimes I have to manually click on a waypoint and make it the arrow. but for the most part it works out. Do Make sure at the start that the first way point listed here is the one your arrow is set to, and then from there on out it SHOULD take you on the path. Cheers!

I just got Rank 2 today (10/28/19) and it seems that Blizzard has nerfed the yield on Zin'anthid. I have been getting 2 and 3 from each node, got 4 once, never got 5 or 6. Will keep trying, of course, because as we all know, we need LOTS of Zin'anthid!

I've been farming this for very good gold for the last few weeks and thought I'd share some tips that have greatly helped me. Very un-goblin like, I know. Some are obvious, others might be new to most.

Make sure you're farming in a way that you can pick herbs without dismounting. Druid flight form, using a Golem dei Cieli (and "sky golem quieter" add-on) or any mount with Staffe Rinforzate di Monelite. There's a lot of mobs in Nazjatar and you'll aggro a lot of them farming.
Make sure you have enchanted your gloves with Incantamento Guanti - Erbalismo di Kul Tiras. It saves a lot of time.
Avoid wandering aimlessly or "kind of having a path". Add-ons make ALL the difference.
The add-on "Gathermate2" shows where all of the nodes are on the world map and the minimap. You can have it load nodes from the server or you can just load it and it will track the ones you've found. You might want to change the minimap node size - The default is pretty big.
The add on "Routes" allows you to create a route for yourself that shows up on the minimap for you to follow. Install Routes, create a bare route in Nazjatar and save it, then edit it and manually edit the points. You can drag the route points around the map, adding points for all of the places you might want go. Go back into routes and save your edits, and you should see the line show up in the minimap. From there, it's as easy as following the line on the minimap. Making a route that covered all of the major herb points probably increased my "yield" by 25% and cut herbing time way down. I use a similar route setup for Winter's Kiss farming in Drustvar, going for Anchor Weed. I uploaded my route for Naz, we'll see if it gets approved.

Quite a frustrating herb to harvest. Phasing is very common and over half the time I go to harvest one, it disappears before I'm done or the result is zero herbs. I sure hope they fix this as this herb is required for so many recipes.

Omg, I literally screamed when I came here to check why this was such an awful herb needed in large amounts. Thanks Blizz. Well colour me stupid, as I was 175 in herb already, I didn't even bother to look at what Rolm was teaching. Didn't know there were ranks on this. Also since day one, I have been picking this stuff out of habit of seeing an herb node. So I was only getting one at a time. And I have killed that rare so many times!

I have remedied that with learning rank one and luckily the carnivorous lasher was up. Did a round and only got 2-3 at a time, but far better than only one!

And it is times like this that I really hate greedy gold farmers. Madly farming this even tho they don't need it just to gouge alchemists in the AH

It seems in order to even have a chance at farming this herb you need to run a bot on all 5 of your wow accounts, coordinating your druids to the herb...

Was working on Zandalari alchemy last night and hit a major roadblock with this stuff. I did three full loops going back and forth across the entire zone and only found one node. When I checked the auction house there were over 13,000 of them for sale, all for 90 to 500g a piece. It seems Blizzard needs to take a look at this place again for herbing bots. There's no other explanation I can think of.

A new account without access to Benthic hand-me-downs and level-capped at 50 can benefit from the Uncanny items made by scribes, such as the DPS caster trinket Compendio degli Alti Nobili sulle Tempeste and off-hand Teschio Intagliato del Combattente Prodigioso. Figure a full stack (200) of this herb to make 95 Inchiostro Granata needed for one of each item for that character.
