go to these cords and you'll find the entrance to the hill tops 31,37 and just make your way up and you'll find one of the notes outside on one of the hills and the other two you can find in the village area guarded in huts. all of this is on top of the hills keep in mind. nothing on the ground level

From atop the pillar at 35,31 You can see all 3 "village" type cliffs you need to visit for the notes. It's a network of pillars connected by bridges - all accesible from this point.

I found the first note at 32,33. Maybe it jumps around...

The second note is in the middle building in their main camp (the one that shows up on the map) when walking up to it (for the first time - the First note is on the mount / bridge to the right (this is the top of the mound you walk past as you first walk up) it isn't in a building

in contrast the bridge on the far left which leads to a small building contains note three... tloc really didn't help with this one :D

It is NOT found on the way up to notes 2 and 3, but is above you at loc 32, 31 as you walk up the path.

To find it. Face the tent you got note 2 from then take the bridge to the right. Go across the next bridge and it is in the chest there.

31,36 To find the ramp, come off of the Great Lift, follow the road to the south until it deadends, then go left. Immediately on the left is a totem. The path up is there

I just did it without cosmos...it may be easier w/out coordinates:

a) circle around the base of the darkcloud pinacle found on your in-game map...ramp is on western side
b) climb up 3-4 bridges
c) when you find the "city" note #2 is in the main tent
d) note number #3 is the small "village" connected to the city
e) note number #1 is on a bare peak connected to the city

I did the entire thing as a level 26 druid & used stealth to bypass anything I didn't feel like fighting

Ok i did have some trouble finding the first note but with thotbott i got it done the easier way to me of discribing it is while looking at your world map in the area of this quest you see the dark pentical area which you had to pass to get to Freewind post. The pentical is made up of 4 small mountians and one large one in the middle the notes are on three of the hills. number 1 is on the first hill which has no town on it, while looking at the map it is the one fartest to the left <-- the last one, second note is on the large middle mountian inside the main tent, the third is on the last mountian farthest to the right --> in a tent. the way to get up the moutian is i beleive on the largets moutian circle around it til you see a free standing flag and go up its simalar the the second way up Freewind post. GL

this was easy - i soloed this as a lvl 24 druid. just sneak past all the mobs in cat form, then kill the lvl 28's in bear form. easy as that.

One of the chests is on a completely bare "hill" to the right hand side of the town as u approach it, and has one lvl 25 on it.

The second is in the massive tent in the main village, and has 2 lvl 28s in. If u sneak to the end of the chest and attack the other will not notice.

The third is to the left of the village in a hut with a lvl 28 in, and a lvl 26 outside.

Hope this helps all without cosmos ;)

Go first up to the camp on hte hill and go right there is Note 1 and then go in the big House in the camp there is note 2 and the go left it's a litte house with a lvl 28 Reaver Note 3

All 3 chests can be found in the Grimtotem Compound which is the Tauren area built on top of the peaks in Darkcloud Pinnacle. You can find the ramp leading up to it south of the Great Lift.
Each chest is on a different platform so you'll have to fight your way through quite a few evil Tauren to find them. 2 are located in tents, 1 is out in the open.

To save time, you can also do the bounty mission for Arnak Grimtotem while you're up there, he's located in the compound, across a bridge leading back toward the Barrens cliff. Right next to him is an NPC who gives you an escort mission. Make sure you've already found all three chests before you take her mission or you'll have to fight all the way out, then all the way back in again.

Soloed it as a 27 Tauren Warrior, fairly easy, just dont agro too many guys at once and it's all good.

Died like twice cause I aggroed 3 of the evil taurens.

so you're saying by having cosmos and having a command something like /goto then corrdinates, you can go to that place? that makes travleig to known areas seem easier

Did it with a Warlock level 28 using Voidwalker. TP = 1/0/18.
Buffed with Elixir of Firepower, Elixir of Defense and Demon Armor.

I just followed the additional notes. Was very easy.

All I can say is don't fall off. I learnt the hard way trying to be clever walking around the edge of the componds.

on chest #2 u can actually avoid any fighting at all, just walk on the outscirts of the camp (to the very edge of the mountain) when u reach the back of the largest tent u can open the chest trough the tent wall, just move ur cursor around until it turns into the yeallow open chest icon.

the ramp is at location 31,36 if u come from the Great Lift its on your left side, u can't miss it if u look to the left with some concentration.
If you're a rouge or a druid u can stealth around and take the first two boxes without killing anyone. Otherwise u have to kill lvl 27 and 28 mobs, not to hard ones though. Soloed it easy with my 26 druid.

All of the notes are in "Document Chest's" they arent like the usual silver type chests, they are more black.

The starting ramp to Darkcloud Pinnacle is located directly at 31, 37
Secret Note #1 is located at 31, 32
Secret Note #2 is located at 34, 39
Secret Note #2 is located at 39, 41

By the way... if u read the quest it says to go to Darkcould Pinnacle, if u read the co-ordinates and dont read the quest... you'll probably end up on the ground searching and being like "what the hell, it says right here." go up the ramp like it says at the beginning of my co-ordinates list.

soloed as a 28 hunter no problem. i could pull 3 at once easy without dieing, rick for hunters is to send in ur pet so he has all the aggro, take the first one til hes almost dead, then multishot. 2 get on you , one of them gets aggroed by ur pet, and pssh all downhill from there.

You need to get up onto the plateau's to do find the Secret Notes.

The entrance to the ramp is at 31,37. Look for a big ugly totem with antlers.

If you don't have coordinates... on the map, the plateau adjacent to the lake is where the ramp is - there is an icon of a hut. Look on the west hand side of that plateau to find the ramp marked by the totem.

The Notes are in chests and found at locations...
Chest #1: 31,33
Chest #2: 33,37
Chest #3: 38,41

You will need to kill your way to the main town.

If you can't kill them quickly, you can sneak around to the back of the town on the edge of the cliff - this way you might have to kill 1 or 2.

In the very back in a large tent you will find Note #2. You will also find two Grimtotem Reavers which are lv28ish warrior mobs.

The bridge heading north-northwest leads to a dead end with one Grimtotem and Note #1. This one isn't in a tent.

The bridge heading east leads to another dead end with two Geomancers (for me at least), and a tent with Note #3 and a single Reaver inside.

This was somewhat difficult as a lv25 warlock. I found it much much easier ninja'ing Note #2 by letting my Voidwalker grab aggro, run in and loot, sacrifice the voidwalker, and running.

To find the ramp

Go south until the junction to freewind... at this point ... look left and you should be able to see the start of the ramps.

There is a decorated pole to show its location.

Travel up to the hilltops, find (fight) your way to the main town. Note #2 is in the central hut (33,39). Take the bridge to the hilltop just north of the town (31,32) and find note # 1. At last cross the town and the the SE bridge to another top. Inside the single hut is note #3 (39,41). And the notes are inside chests. I hope this helps, as I had my troubles finding them.

To get to the Island with the 3rd note on you can go round the back of all the tents to get to the bridge that leads to the 3rd page island.

I took the note in the main town first (33,37) (note #2), then headed east to get the my second (38,41) (note #3), then headed back across town to the bridge going north-northwest to get the final note (31,33) (note #1).

From here, you can just drop off the north side of this pillar. Look for the bridge below you. Head east, not across the bridge. You're on your way out of Darkcloud Pinnacle.

After completing this quest I tried to jump into the elemental lake from the main grimtotem camp. I hit the lake ok but still took 1137 hps falling damage. Thought I would post for all those that like the shortcuts.
It was enough damage to kill me as a 31 hunter.

Pacify the Centaur is a prerequisite for this quest. It starts from the same dude though.

To start this quest you first have to complete Pacify the Centaur, which is also given by Cliffwatcher Longhorn.

Just read through all the comments and surprised no one talking about the meaning of the notes and how the quest does drops off after mentioning these ominous forces from Lordaeron, Harbingers Elm, Rex, and Grakus... We find out about how Grimtotems have cross continental alliances against the tauren of the Horde and the quest chain just dies there? Talk about cliff hanger!

Does anyone know what some of these references are? Are the harbingers a part of the scourge (they sound scourgey to me)? Can you pick up the story of these quests later? I'm afraid the answer is there is no continuation, which sucks because they really got their hooks in me with these unknown Harbingers and I want to root them out!

Any help connecting the dots is very welcome!

The locations are actually on the map above.
The 1st one across a bridge to the west of note #2. There's 1 NPC on this mesa, but you probably can go around him. This is on top of the 2nd or 3rd of the mesas you follow the path up.
Note #2 is inside a long hut (like Tailoring / Leatherworking at Thunder Bluff) to the right, with a NPC at each end.
Note #3 is across the bridge to the east of note #2. there's 1 NPC inside with the chest and 2 outside. You may have issues with one of the outside NPC's being unattackable (on evade) due to a location fault. Simply ignore this NPC (at this time) and take out the other 2.

1. Head to Darkcloud Pinnacle
-Follow main road from Freewind Post towards The Great Lift.
-Ramp heading up to Darkcloud Pinnacle is on East side of road just North of the curve in the road.

2. Head to Main Village
-Head to the rise where the main village is, it's the only rise with walls and more than one building.

3a. Secret Note #2 is inside the largest hut on this rise.
3b. Secret Note #3 is inside small hut on a rise across a bridge to the East from main village (head East from largest hut).
3c. Secret Note #1 is next to a keg and a blanket on a small rise across a bridge Northwest of main village (next to bridge you entered from).

3. Return to Cliffwatcher Longhorn at Freewind Post.
