I just bought this off the AH for 1200g. A little high, but I needed to replace the Nethergarde Staff of the Wildfire that I'd accidentally sold to a vendor while cleaning my bags. (Sold too many grey items after I clicked it, and couldn't get it back. Oops!) I plan to equip this staff until I upgrade to Cataclysm and reach 85 anyway, then I'll get a new one, so it was worth it. I have lots of gold, well, +50K, so it didn't bankrupt me or anything. I don't really like the lolly-pop shaped staves (like this one and Zabra's Misplaced Staff), but I don't PvP or group raid, so these are what's available. However, I should add that with the Enchant Staff - Greater Spellpower, it really looks great! The enchant effect centers perfectly on the orb on the top, and really brings the orb to life. I'll add a screenshot later this evening.

this dropped for me off one of the stone drakes in Deepholm. Listed it on the AH for 1600g and was sold in less than 12 hours.

Its a world drop, can drop from "any" Cata mobs

Huh, seems that I got this at a very good price (about 350g if I recall). I just got cata today, but this weapon has been amazing to be running through LK heroics, I probably won't be replacing it for awhile.
