Tackle Box? You mean I can finally keep my bags organized when I go out on a long fishing trip?

Fishing Lures

Fishing Junk
Fishing Daily Items
Coins from Dalaran Fountain

Gems & Rings awarded from Dailies

Cataclysm Update:
Check your auction house for these before you buy the mats for one. Engineers make these to level up pretty cheap compared to some of the other stuff and they end up selling them at bargain prices on the auction house because of competition. I just bought 10 of these for 20g each and sold them to people for half the cost of the mats (175g as of edit). TL;DR: Buy one on the AH good chance its cheaper then the mat cost!

This is excellent, can't wait to snag one of these, going to be good for guild "fish outs" to gather mats for Fish Feasts (or their equivalent in Cataclysm).

Finally, a step in the right direction towards what I've been wanting for years: a Meat Sack in which to store my cooking mats. Half is better than none, I suppose.

The fact that it can also hold my rum only further increases its value.

I think I've about had it with engineering.

While jewelcrafters are selling blue quality gems for 350-400 gold a piece, we engineers get to sell the fabulous Lure Master Tackle Box for ~99 gold each.

For reference - 20 elementium bars and 4 obsidium bolts (the mats to make this) are worth ~500 gold in the current market.

Would it kill blizzard to give engineers even one item that could be sold for a profit over just selling the mats? Outside of a small nitch of players this "tackle box" thing is completely worthless.

I guess we sell Gnomish X-Ray Scope for ~600 gold.

2x Hardened Elementium Bar and 2 Dream Emerald are worth ~800-900 gold right now.

It wouldn't be nearly as bad if our gadgets actually worked. My nitro boost (which for some strange reason migrated from my boots to my belt) fails more often then it works. Damn thing even kills me sometimes.

Our trinkets are garbage compared to BOE trinkets that can be bought off the AH. The only benefit I'm getting out of engineering right now is 1500 armor for 13 sec on a one minute cooldown.

Seems that going engineering in Cata is more of a handicap than a help.

When do you REALLY need 36 slots for fishing?

I agree that there is little or no need, at least for myself, to use this. If you are the occasional fisherman, i.e. you go out ang get ingridients for your main buff food (if its fishing related), then the 36 slots are somewhat irrelevant. Even if it was 50 slots, the important thing to consider is that by equiping this, you forgo 22 slots (end of WotLK) of regular bagspace. So basicaly i lose 22 slots gain 36, but the overlap (items that fit on both) is what? 10?. So overall, the general utility bagspace is reduced by equipping this

Again, this is for the occasional fisherman. Now barring Blizzard is preparing us for exciting developments in fishing, I would say this is to pay tribute to all the fisherman out there.

You certainly would need this if u had the patience to go for rare fish for example. You can just chuck the vendor fish back in to the water, you know..WoW recycling, but it does feel like you are throwing it all away, there is a little bit of cash in vendoring the fish.

i'm not a miner so it costs me 200 gold in mats to make one of these, they only sold for 8 gold each. I can't think of any other profession that is so terrible in it's returns, it's a negative value.

Amazing! I bought it to Vendor using Auctioneer. The Vendor price is 3g 75s. I thought I stood to make 3g. Until I jumped over here to see what it's used for and found it's worth 30g+.

I just made one of these items. I can tell you from experience the do NOT contain anything when made. They are empty. So telling people they can contain any one of these items is a lie.

You can also put these in one of your bank slots and store your fish inside them. If you have Jeeves, you can also summon him while fishing and throw your fish in the tackle box inside the bank. Even if you're not a engineer, with 36 slots, it's still very effective way to store your cooking mats and fish for later.

Bought one of these for 6 g buyout on the AH. Why? For my guilds fishy feasts.

Does my guild have the feast yet? No... Somehow they got to level 25 and only fished up 200 some odd fish out of pools. I promptly leveled fishing (cause the dragon feasts they were dropping in FL were worse than my own food). So, 2k fish out of pools latter I am now a master fisher and maxed cook.

So... just 8k more fish to go and I'll get the fishy feasts for my guild. In the meantime I need space to put all those fish. Thanks Blizz for thinking ahead on this one :D

I'm gonna be making fishy feasts from here till Kingdom come!

Second Edit: If for any reason you are removed from the guild your personal tracker will be set back to 0. I had over 5k fish when my guild broke up and now this tackle box just takes up room in my bank :(

Remember guys this is a tackle box. in real life these boxes are designed to hold your fishing tackle: Reels, Bait spinners, hooks all that kind of things. not just meat and cooked fish. it may as well be called meat box if it's going to hold meat?

What we really need, is a general cooking bag.

With the release of MoP, players are going to have many more ingredients to keep track of and only a small portion of these are aquatic related.

They should call it a grocery bag and allow all sorts of meats, (cooked and uncooked), vegetables, spices and fish. I would certainly buy such a thing.
