This is an alternative choice reward from Argent Tournament repeatable quests.

The other reward choice is badges that give reputation with a chosen city.

Players who no longer require rep or do not wish to have it can choose a gold reward instead.

Still an approach worth considering if you're really keen on maximising your profit + rep. Wouldn't work on either of the servers I play regularly on, but I like the idea. Wowhead's averaged prices would put 60 runecloth at 12g, so if you were on a server with prices on the low side and/or were prepared to wait for a glut of runecloth on the AH...

Question - if I'm already exalted with my faction city, but working on becoming champion for a second faction, can I save these writs to use for rep after I become champion for the second group? In other words, can I as champion use both factions' QMs and writs from any quests?

Its quite possible, this could always happen, and this was merely my first one. If that is the case ignore this post.

I don't know, if it has been already posted, but since patch 3.1.1 or 3.1.2, this now have a chance to give 1 Champion's Seal, too.

Also, a wierd thing, that happened to me, today was, that 1 of my purses did stay in my bag, after i looted it, the first time, so i got 10 extra gold from it. (Woo :D)

Edit: And when i sold an item, i had in my bag, for 3g, i lost those 3g. I didn't get them :S.
Wierd things are happening around us, people. Watch out.

It says it has a 100% chance of giving you a seal, but clearly, that is not the case.

Well , it's a reward from Champion's quests in Argent Tournament .
It contains 10 g and occasionally a Champion's Seal !
It drops sometimes but you need to be lucky , so good luck with your loots ;P

The droprate says 100%, so far out of 40 purses i haven't gotten one, do they still drop or is something wrong with the rates?

Edit: 20 more purses, no seals. But then again i might just be unlucky, however people rated this comment +4 so there must be something going on.

If someone gets a seal from a purse please let me know because i'm really concerned now :p

This seems like a no brainer to me. you are trading your time for gold in this game. I understand people want rep so they can get... wait if you just champion a city you can still buy their pets.... ok i stand corrected, this makes no sense to choose the writ over the bag of money + champion seal.

You are getting free money in place of your time, for something you've already done. why would you not choose the money in light of this. Also, all reputation bonuses have bleed over rep as well.

Mr. Scrooges Guide to riches and reputation:
pick your lowest rep city, for me that's the space demon cows... uh the exodarians. I could choose to champion them. however, I don't take the final champion quest will i'm nearly halfway through reverred. All this time, I've done quests, gotten 24g per daily, and had bleed over rep to all the other cities. By the time I would hit half way through revered with the exodaralings, my Darnassus rep would be exalted my ironforge rep would be exalted and so would stormwind. and that's just from the bleed over rep from turning in the quests. In the process I could buy the mammoth riding pet. The next city, gnomes for me, may not be exalted by that time. So if i do a few quests for them, then the exodarahedrons would become exalted in the process.

Of course if you value your time over having gold, you may forgo this advice.

I haven't been able to test this extensively yet, but it appears that purses will only drop a Champion's Seal if the number you have is not a multiple of 5. After the patch that first introduced these dropping I had 114 Champion's Seals before turning in the dailies and I found one of these in the purse. For the next two week, doing all the dailies every day (meaning I was earning 5 Champion's Seals a day) I didn't find a single drop in any of the purses I opened.

A few weeks later I had 6 Champion's Seals and after doing the dailies found two Champion's Seals in two of the purses from that day.

I've gotten 2 total so far from all the bags, and I've been doing it almost every single day since AT started. So the drop rate is low, probably in the 5% range or lower. The stupid way Wowhead gather data makes 100% rate inaccurate. If only Wowhead could also count bag that contained only gold, then we may have a better number.

Some have gone many bags without any seal, you just got to remember random number generator can be a bane or a boon depending on how it rolls for you. So some could get really lucky and get 2 or 3 per week (or more!) while other could be so unlucky and not get any at all.

I just realized that even though the first Seal I found was before I was a valiant with all cities, I believe it was after I hit exalted with Sunreavers. Maybe you have to be exalted with your Argent Tournament faction to start to see them drop? It definitely seems like I've found a higher drop-rate, I've gotten 5 within the past 6 days of dailies.

I believe that i have found a glitch for this bag. It appears that if you are fast enough, or lagg a little, it IS possible to loot 20 Gold from 1 bag. I lagged a little here in this image, and believe i have discovered it.

Champions Seals do NOT always drop from this item, today when i opened up my 4 Purses, not one of them gave me a seal, and yesterday only 2 of them gave me a seal.

From what I've seen, when you open a purse, you have a 100% chance to get a Champions Seal, but if you open a second one soon after, you will only get the 10 gold, can anyone confirm this?

I have 2 different toons that I have been doing the dailies with, and so far, out of 16+ bags looted, I have yet to see a single Champion's Seal. Perhaps the game knows I am doing it with multiple toons, and is punishing me accordingly.....or I have REALLY bad luck.

Does anyone know if there is a rep level required with Sunreavers/Argent Crusade (don't know the Horde equiv) that affects the drop rate of seals from the bag? Somehow I doubt that kind of mechanic is in place and I am sticking with my "game hates me" theory.

As of patch 4.0.1, it would seem that the droprate of Champion's seals from Champion's purse has been increased to 100%. This increases the amount of "guaranteed" seals per day to 17.

*The pain from farming these each for 2 months straight and looking at another month eases a bit*

Since patch 4.0, I've been doing the dailies every day. I get 4 Champion's Purses each day, and since the patch I have been receiving a Seal in 3 out of every 4 Purses.

It is my firm belief that the droprate of Seals from the Purses has been increased.

From what I have seen, as of Patch 4.0.1, these bags have 100% drop rate on seals. I have been doing them everyday for a week and I have gotten an extra seal in every bag bar none. This makes it alittle easier for people farming them for mounts/pets/tabards. Should put the total seals a day at 17 a day.

I opened two of them today and seal in both. However the seal did not show in the purse when looting, nor did it give a sound but I could still see that I received it via the chatlog.

I guess it works like with the cooking rewards in Dalaran, it wont show up in bag there either but still getting it.

@darius404: You are incorrect. ToC5 does still award Champion's Seals. The total amount earned in one day, if you do the dungeon and all the dailies is still 17. You may not have seen the currency awarded, but it most likely appeared in your currency tab, upon receiving it.

Personally I would recommend taking this over the Writ even if you aren't Exalted with the Alliance/Horde factions. Reducing the days you would need to grind to get everything worth while from the Champion's Seals is much more valuable then getting reputation, which can be easily gotten elsewhere and at anytime. Like another commenter said, you can go back to the starting zones and do the quests there. Also, with the advent of changing the Faction tabards to Championing tabards, you can grind the reputation much more easily.

In short, get the purse!

Out of curiousity of the reward from this compared to the writs I got it once and every time I open one I get an extra champion seal. I'm not sure if it's a glitch or not, but....nice! SO worth it with that bonus, even though I'm not exalted with all the main factions on my side yet....

After patch 4.3.2 I ran these dailies and received the following from the 4 Champion's Purse items:

You receive currency: x1.
You loot 10 Gold
You receive currency: x2.
You loot 10 Gold

You receive currency: x1.

I'm not sure if its something new, but it seems that you can now get more than 1 seal per purse.

For those like me who didn't play since Wotlk, you receive at least one champion's seal per purse.
During Wotlk, it was random and sometimes, you didn't get any champion's seal, only 10g.

Just wanted to point out this fact for people like me who are now farming their tournament mounts'.
