You mean 408 to your "healing". Your healing and spell damage are exactly the same. Calculating how much healing you would have pre-3.0.2 is pointless.

It still may be 408 but blizzard has announced there is a spell coefficient to calculate ACTUALLY HEALING because it's spell power is worth more for healing I think it's like 1.8 healing for every spell power using the Pre LK healing calculations.

What if Paladins also will need on this? For healing, I mean...
It kinda got all the stats that's good for healing, except it doesn't have mp5.

Holy spec Paladins could get a lot of use out of this weapon. Spell crit and Mp5 are both important to a paladin healer, especially since critical heals refund mana. This sword, however, is not good for any other spec paladin, as the class has been changed to work off of melee-oriented stats for Protection and Retribution.

My warlock rolled need, and I was upset when the Paladin rolled as well. Thankfully I won it anyway. But a few hours later https://www.wowhead.com/cata/item=39424 dropped and since no one else needed (group was light on casters) I got this as well. So essentially in hindsight it would have been better for the Pally to get this sword.

Bottom line: Its lolNaxx. If its an upgrade for you and you can use very stat, don't feel bad rolling. There is plenty of loot there for everyone.

Just popping by to state my view:

Sure, casters might be offended but it's a great healer weapon, for paladins only obviously. It has a lot of intellect and spellpower/crit/haste – a perfect itemization. And wearing something else than a mace for the first time ever doesn't hurt me.

And paladins usually suffer because caster weapons tend to be daggers, easily attainable by all (except paladins). (I mean seriously, aren't paladins the only class without daggers? Maybe druids too, but don't vote negative just for this ^^). Such as the spell damage badge dagger from 2.4, a lovely prot paladin weapon (high stam and spelldamage) except that you couldn't wield it.

As a mage I love this weapon. Obviously it isn't the best mage weapon in WOTLK but as an entry-level raiding/pvp weapon this blade can't be beat. I recommend it to any offensive caster.

dont be afriad to weild this over the flame scalpal if it takes you slightly below cap.
the extra SP, crit and haste will make up for it and the hit cap isn't as neccesary now as it was in TBC, at least not til 25 mans.

Yes, this is good sword for healer paladins, divine plea is good way to gain back some mana, but it also reduces 50% healing done by all spells made by Paladin who is using it. For casters, this is good weapon too, good spell power and nice casting reducement. But coming back to healer paladins and mp/5 you mentioned. Now Mp/5 is still good stat for healadins, if you think what would be best handler, I'd say healer as I have paladin myself. Now haste raiting does make casting bit faster and divine plea does regenerate mana while casted Y ammount based on paladins mana pool.

As I told above, divine plea also reduces 50% of all healing spells casted by paladin, meaning that if paladin has 2K healing bonus, with divine plea on paladin heals as if he/she would have just 1K healing bonus. Because of that if you are planing to make paladin who runs out of mana only rare accasions, haste raiting should be ignored and you should stack mp/5 instead. But if you are planing to make healer paladin who heals fast, and has huge healing overall affect, then mp/5 should be ignored and you should stack your paladin with spell power, intellect, spell critical hit raiting and haste raiting.

After new talents, just like protection and retribution paladins were changed to have better use for same gear than warriors, holy paladins can now choose their healing style more freely. Via new talents holy paladins get mana from every critical heal they cast, that's why stacking alot of spell power, haste raiting and spell critical hit raiting is better than stacking mp/5 instead of haste or crit raiting.

I love this for a destruction warlock, but I rather see haste being replaced for hit or more crit :).

Easy to obtain, first time I did naxx10, it dropped and I was the only one who wanted this item. This is a good item witch isn't really hard to get, if you run naxx10 a few times I'm sure you be able to get it.

Same amount of crit, you'll get some more haste with The Turning Tide, and the spellpower ofcourse, but still none of them has any hit rating, what really sucks.

Congrats, you've finally motivated me to make a Wowhead account so I can tell you that you are an ignorant jerk! :D

There are two maces in the game that I would use as a level 80 Holy Paladin, one being Titansteel Guardian and the other being Hammer of the Astral Plane.
This is in fact a decently sized upgrade over the Guardian (though if a guildie i knew needed this and was using a blue, I, currently with the guardian, would probably pass), and is not as good as the HoTAP, but when you take Life and Death, and The Turning Tide, which I'm sure someone with your level of intelligence would say are mage weapons as well, both are superior to the Hammer of the Astral Plane.

Paladins can and will use swords, I dont see why this is such a problem for (some) mages and warlocks to understand. Assuming that paladins didn't roll on maces to heal, you would get 3 classes (druids, priests, shammies) rolling on them, and you would have 3 classes (locks, paladins, mages) rolling on items like this. You say paladins should "go get a mace"... why? It is making ourselves worse at what we do merely to accommodate your selfishness... By that logic you should be using caster staves, if only to give them a use, seeing as no one wants them. Do it, get less stats then you would have with a MH/OH combo, but feel better about yourself knowing that the paladin who put in exactly the same amount of effort as you (probably more) got this sword, simply because he said so. That is what you are asking pallies to do when you tell them to go get a mace... handicap themselves for no reason other then that you want that sword.

For math supporting my view that mp/5 and most maces are useless for pallies (or at least not better than the alternative) view the comments on the The Turning Tide, where there have been a ton of posts arguing whether or not paladins should get a chance to roll on this.

Disclaimer: I am not bashing ALL locks and mages as being close minded idiots, only those who leave posts like the above. I also do not believe that pallies should get spellblades above mages/locks, merely that we should be able to roll and win on them.

Just so you guys understand the name, the sword's mother died last year, he's been having a hard time ever since.
But having a adventurer as his new campanion im sure he'll be fine soon enough.
Just try not to wipe too much, it might send him over the edge.
Oh and try not to replace him too fast aswell, he needs some security in his life, poor little blade :'(

Great sword for paladins, nice replacement of War Mace of Unrequited Love. This one could stay with you untill the mace from Kel'Thuzad on heroic, I believe.

Normally I stay out of these things, pallys vs. casters, shammies vs. pallies, casters vs. casters... blah blah blah.
An upgrade is an upgrade.
Now, the requirements to get anywhere close enough to roll on said blade are most likely Heroic Gear Minimum. And "if" you are raiding, or in the process of establishing a raid frequency... (hopefully) you are under the knowledge of understanding that though it seems this blade is lacking some stats and honoring others, one can make the proper adjustments for hit, crit or other enchantments by balancing out the rest of your gear to accomodate. (I.e. you lose a Kirin Tor rep blade which has hit and enchant your bracers for hit instead of spell pwr to reacquire hit rating. Or you take a lower point epic for a superior with +hit on it.)

ALL CASTERS, (knowledgeble) can use this. No one class is above the other in terms of an extra 13points of haste... which makes a noticable difference only if you make your fight really drawn out. And even if it comes to a 20 minute fight duration, you should have the knowledge and ability to accomodate said deficiencies and promote your abilities.
People ENOUGH!
The only people that cry about this bullsh... are the pugs. If you are in a raiding guild or raid with frequency, sthu. You will raid again, it will drop again. Even if it doesn't... then raid again... if not then, then raid again...
And if you don't have the patience... go into your control panel to add/remove programs and stop playing and move on with your life.

The comment section is a "comment" section but if you look on any other item or qst item there's relevant information... not a bunch of ppl flaming each other about whose weapon it belongs to...

im a holy pally and i use this sword i threw a +SP on it and it works like a charm. no mp5 thats cool the gear and Divine Plea gives me plenty so i can live with out more. the haste is good and id get this if u want to get a diff wep its a good starting one till it drops.

Is this the only model that can currently be obtained? The Ravenholdt Sentry carries 2 swords just like this but this item can not be duel wielded.
