This item can be looted by everyone in a raid group that kills Prince Tenris Mirkblood, a Karazhan boss that was added on 25 October 2008 as the third phase of the Scourge Invasion launched on the live realms.

Maybe we'll see more flavor items as the Wrath of the Lich King launch event unfolds, or maybe .... .. . . ...... . .... BRAINSSSSS.

And now the Castlevania reference is complete. The quest reward for killing Mirkblood was a Monster Slayer's kit. he dropped a Vampiric Batling for everyone in the group. And the Feat of Strength achievement's name? Vampire Hunter. Total win on this one Blizzard.

A few people on my realm mention they did kara today and he was there - i put in a bug report, yet to hear back. But any other realms having this bug happen? he was a pre-LK event boss only, NOT seasonal - why is he back lol

The Vampiric batling flies with you since the start of Cataclysm.

It always drops for each players in the raid so it is probably 100% but only once per player. Since the boss is inside Karazhan, naturally it is only for 68+ that can obtain the batling pet.

To get to the boss, after you down Midnight and Attumen, keep going through the room (instead of backtracking past ent to Moroes), up the stairs and beyond there is a closed door. The boss is right there so don't open until the raid is ready.

It is suggested at least 1 player head to EPl to Light's Hope Chapel and pick up "Chamber of Secret" quest first, then share it with the raid. The scroll for the quest is right behind the boss.

The batling counts toward the pet achievement so get em while you can. I suspect the boss and the batling would be available only until WotLK is released.

we had a go but wasn't all prepared for the taking over of one of us, died ran back he was still running around outside his room, so popped in quick and grabbed the plans.

Will go back later to take him down
