For any priests that might be interested, this staff also matches the Hallowed set very nicely. It's the same purple and is glowy to boot. :D

Same +healing, but with Spirit instead of mana per five. Given that mp5 is currently buggy (multiple items with the same mp5 value don't stack, IE: 7 + 7 = 7), and Meditation/Reflection/Innervate are all Spirit based, its a solid alternative.

Just Scored myself one of these on a BM run, it only took 30ish minutes.

Today was a good Night b/c I scored 3 different healing items.
I popped a +81 healing on it and I'm satisfied.
My conflict was, Should i get Seer's Cane or Epoch-Mender, My FSR was about ( which means that anywhere from 3-5 spirit points was equal to 1 mp/5 point, I found this using RegenFU for Fubar) so it turned out that the mp5 on the Epoch-Mender Rocked my Serpentcrest, and the graphic rocked the Seer's cane :)

This is an ideal staff for a priest/druid looking for extra survivability.

For Healing Shammy (Or paladin, but they can't have staff anyway) I would recommend getting the
Crystal Pulse Shield (AH - BoE) https://www.wowhead.com/cata/item=31292
Lightsworn Hammer (Shattered Halls) https://www.wowhead.com/cata/item=27538

A decent pre-raid combo.

Where does this come from? I might just go with aldor rep so I can do tailoring for the +51 healing to pants and just get this as my healing staff instead of the one from the scryers.

I have the Serpent staff from Steamvaults and I was looking into this one as maybe an upgrade, As I do have spiritual guidence and Spirit of redemtion, I was wondering what one would be better over all. Serpen has +20 spirit enchant and the Epoc I won tonight has +30 intel. Nobody would give a "this is better" answer so Im asking here.

I'm going to test a combo with a +81 heal (+85?) on this one, +20 spirit on the serpent staff and use "Bangle of Endless Blessings" (Warp Splinter, Botanica) whenever I can with the serpent for fast regen. Its a _real_ nice boost when getting a innervate thats for sure. 650 spirit with it all i think.

this staff dropped for me 2nd run.....and the druid which was tankin the instance needed on it ......disspointing really made me mad now that im on my 30+ run and it hasnt dropped for me again

Just today I went into BM for the first time. Druid tank rolled for the Epoch-Mender and won. I was a little annoyed, but I have a Druid tank friend so I understood -- and this was a PuG anyhow. Well what do you know... we wiped and had to go back in again, and this time the Epoch-Mender dropped again and I needed on it and got it. So everyone was happy! :) Of course, I wish good luck to those who want it.

On another subject though, finding it hard to decide between the Serpentcrest Life Staff's +46 Spirit or the 12 MP5 on this Epoch-Mender. The Serpentcrest seems to improve my mana regen more. Why is that? Which is really "best"? Is it a matter of play styles? :)

this really does suck... i've been here about 30 times still no drop.. and it is even rare to find a decent group what does not wipe! it is so annoying and impossible to get this :( 12% chance drop.. that does really suck i hate blizzard

should i use this or "the essence focuser" and crystal spine shield? i get more hp with epoch mender but more armor with shield + block i also get 35 less healing with the staff

I have this staff and the serpent staff from steamvaults. As a resto druid , I have decided to put the healing ench on both and switch out depending on whether or not i am in tree form or not . Both are really nice . This staff gives me more mana regen while casting though which is great .

I always thought that spirit only affected your health and mana regen while your character is out of combat and not casting, so I thought it was usless for anything other than grinding. Though, I'm pretty sure I'm understanding correctly that it affects your mana regen WHILE in combat too, just not when your casting. Could someone conferm this, or add anything? If this is true, I'm going to have to go back a reconsider a lot of the gear I've passed up because of the amount of spirit and the lack of other stats.

By the way, I'm a resto druid, and yes, I have the "Living Spirit" talent (refering to the post above me).

So then... how much mana and/or health does +1 spirit give you?

If you don't spend mana for 5 seconds while IN combat, you get the full benefit of spirit regen, as if you were out of combat.

So if you complete a cast, then do not cast for 5 seconds, you will be classed as 'out of combat' as far as your spirit regen is concerned.

This is referred to as 'the five second rule' or '5SR'

The name is a reference to Chrono-Trigger, where the time travelling space ship was called the "Epoch", which is broken when you arrive at the end of the universe.

I traded out the essence focuser and saga of terrok for this and think it was a good choice. As for a druid tank rolling for it, if the healer needs then there is no justification for the druid to roll. I also got the scarab of infinite cycles on the same run :)

Everyone can roll on any item they can use in theory and it is not you who say who can do what. You dont want a druid to roll on this one, go for a warrior tank. Also, there are druid hybrids, able to either tank and heal. If I heard from anyone, being a hybrid now, I cant roll for anything, it would be a bye bye so I dont think I would even consider partying with someone telling me on what I can or cannot roll.

If you join a run as druid tank for example this is your role for the group, then a healing priest should have the first take on a staff like this, because this guy apparently joined here to get this staff and this equals to that you then could do a classic hunter typo; "that's definitely a hunter item!" on everything in sight "because you can use it" (in this case if you respec).

If the priest (or other resto druid) is healing in this instance at the time of drop and a feral druid tanks this person is an ass rolling on the staff then, same goes for a shadow priest rolling on it.

The rule of needing on something you can use might apply, but then you could think about the morals of rolling for something someone might have run several runs to get and is a dedicated healer and really works hard to improve the gear. Would this for some reason happened in a raid with guild, you would most likely got kicked out of guild.

You get priority according to your role. If you're a tank you get bids on tanking gear, healers get binds on healing gear. Any hybrid class who roll need on it against full-spec classes are just selfish tbh.

They'd use it 100% of the time while you will only use it when you feel like healing or don't have a choice.

In a PUG you can only expect people to need on equip that they can use, irrespective of the role they are doing in that particular instance.

To honestly think that someone wil pass up on perfectly nice gear because at that specific moment you WANTED it, is incredibly naive, seriously you don't know the person and aren't likely to ever group with them again.

Maybe that druid was collecting healing gear for future use and that was why they were there?
If the druid hadn't come along to tank would you even have been running ?

As a minFeral/MajResto druid i get called on to tank from time to time in pugs, even carrying the kit about on the off chance that its necessary, its certainly not how i play 98% of the time, so why should i pass on equipment that serves my primary roles as much as it does yours ?

Obviously if it happens in a guild run, you burn their house to the ground but that a different scenario entirely.

I've found that some people are at least courteous enough to let me know that they want a piece of healing gear even though it's offspec for them at the time. It's always a kick in the face when you think you'd be the only one rolling but someone else gets it as "maybe someday" loot. But then again some people play the game solely to piss people off. =P
