Many people who role-play as a knight/paladin (the latter even more so) favour these pauldrons mostly due to their befitting colour and because the model is the same one used by several Silver Hand paladin NPCs in-game.

On role-playing realms, these are often one of the most expensive shoulder pads sold in auction house.

If you really want these shoulders and can't afford/don't want to buy them off the AH I suggest going to Silithus, because it has the biggest amount of rares that have a chance of dropping the item (9 rares, drop chance ranging from 1,5% to 5%). I suggest using the addon NPCscan and adding these rares to the search list:

Huricanian, ID 14478, drop chance 1,5%
Setis, ID 14471, drop chance 5%
Grubthor, ID 14477, drop chance 4%
Lapress, ID 14473, drop chance 4%
Twiligh Lord Everun, ID 14479, drop chance 3%
Rex Ashil, ID 14475, drop chance 4%
Krellack, ID 14476, drop chance 3%
Zora, ID 14474, drop chance 2%
Gretheer, ID 14472, drop chance 4%

Typically you will find 3-5 of these rares per a run (on my first run I found Setis, Everun, Krellack and Gretheer). Even if you didn't get the shoulders you will get some nice stuff to sell in the AH for quite a bit of gold. My advice is to wait for about 6 hours between runs if you want to do it as frequently as possible (I personally do one stroll per day)

it is so stupid that these are mail, when they clearly should be plate. plate wearers need these more for xmoging.
