This achievement and similar will result in the revisitation of Azerothian raids! Good for those who wish to see what it was like to raid in Azeroth - not so good for those who have painful memories of 20/40 mans that they raided to death. Still, fun.

Entering Molten Core requires attunement. Head to Blackrock Depths, there is a quest giver on the way there. The quickest way is to head through the lava (take along a healer) and there is a rock you are required to collect near the Molten Core enterance.

Retroactive Dungeon & Raid Achievements

* Ok, for everything 25-person and above, we added the full loot table checks on BoP items: Gruul, Mag, Vashj, Kae, Illidan, Archimonde, Kil'Jaeden, Onyxia, Ragnaros, Nefarian, C'Thun. Dungeon bosses and anything that requires less than 25 people will check any quests but no items.We can not check the Heroic Daily Quests or Dungeon Daily Quests as they are repeatable and not tracked accurately by our system. * Also, you have to have the items in your inventory or bank. If you deleted them you will not get credit and the GM's will not restore items for achievements. (src)
* Tier items bought from BoP tokens are counted. You will get the achievements. (src)
* The Quel'Serrar quest counts for Onyxia. You don't even need the sword. The quest is good enough. (src)

This is possibly the hardest and most annoying achievement ever. Why you ask? Well for starters its hard to get any one to come. If you do find someone to come they probably are not attuned. If they want to come and are attuned they probably don't have http://www.wowhead.com/?item=17333#created-by. This achievement will most likely take several days lot of time looking for people with http://www.wowhead.com/?item=17333#created-by. Oh and you need to find 7 people with http://www.wowhead.com/?item=17333#created-by. You will have a headache by the end of the day.

Well the problem is still that the achievs are very unbalanced.
Before TBC it was pretty to get a MC team up, while now you can wait months before you actually get a pug for it.
Deadmines gives the same amount of achiev points as MC does, so which one do we pick....

i did 3 man it, me feral druid and dps warrior and hunter we down all boss but the last 2 b/c you need the water to to put out the blaze. Since i don't have it and one per person, i have to run back and four 7 time.

wait till 3.0.8 come out then do it.

For those who want the achievement here's a few tips;

Start early - You can get attuned at level 55. See the various sites that show you how. Taking an 80 along with ensure you don't have to worry about aggro'ing the elementals.

Recruit early and often. Guildmates, allies, and random high levels can get the ball rolling. Advertising in Trade will raise interest. Make a calender event and send invites thru the event feature. Post on the realm forum your event. And LFM will help fill out your ranks.

You'll be surprised on how many will show up just for the achievement. And if you have a half-dozen or so 80's in the raid then you're guaranteed a win.

For WA (Alliance) we'll be doing this every Saturday, Noon (server time).

Mar-14; first time through I picked up the Lawbringer gauntlets. Only seven more trips (I hope).

Thoughts for any trying to do the instance in a small group of 80s...

Luci/Mags/Gehenna/Garr/Rag are not troubling.

Baron can be done with a Hunter and a Healer (pet tanks, hunter mends, healer heals exploding hunter out of mana burn range), or a hunter with 3pt1 (sic pet, mend, shoot once for loot)

Sulfurons adds won't heal if they run out of mana, and don't hit particularly hard. They can be heal-tanked out of mana and then burned down easily.

Domos adds won't heal themselves, but the warriors do more damage than the healers by a significant amount, a heal-tank for the adds while a single DPS pulls and burns adds is entirely viable.

For those 85s wondering if this is solo-able: I managed to solo whole instance last night as a ret paladin wearing pvp gear (I created a raid group with one other person and had that person disconnect). The thing is pretty easy in general. My resistance aura helped a little bit, but if you don't have it it's not a big deal. There were three areas of difficulty though:

1.) the core hound packs you run into. These need to all be killed within 10 seconds of each other or they'll all resurrect. W/o any good AOE, its gonna be tough. Best to avoid these mobs altogether.

2.) Barron Geddon. He'll knock you straight up into the air, causing you to take fall damage. Nothing like good ol' gravity to kill you. This can't be mitigated by most classes, so go stand in the hallway that leads to this boss. Look around in there for the shortest fall height and stand right there the whole time. Problem solved.

3.) Ragnaros himself. He won't do too much damage directly, the problem here is his knockback of melee classes. He'll SUPPOSEDLY announce it with "taste of the hand of Sulfuron!" but in my experience I was already knocked in the air when he said it and took about 35% fall damage. Not fair. So the fall damage couldn't really be helped in this case. I squeaked by using Divine Shield and Lay on Hands. If you're smarter than me, you'll notice he casts his knockback every 25 seconds or so. Just count the time and run away every 25 seconds. That SHOULD work. For ranged classes, this fight should be a breeze to solo. He doesnt have any Knockback to ranged that I'm aware of so just DPS his ass down :) For melee, be aware that each time you hit him you'll lose a point of durability. Keep Jeeves handy in case you die.

Edit: there's actually some high stones jutting out of the lava around Ragnaros. Position yourself in front of these so that when you get knocked into the air you land on them and don't take full falling damage. Melee can do this too, just line yourself up accordingly :)

You could also face your back to a lava pool and will almost certainly land in lava and not take the falling damage ;)

Just to clarify that this is for killing Ragnaros at Molten Core. If you kill him in Firelands it will NOT count.

Didn't happen to me, but someone I know did confuse the two so...
