The Adamantine Figurine is probably better, but this one is questable.

This trinket outperforms Adamantine Figurine easily if you have some +block gear. Note the very short cooldown on this.

This trinket is amazing for multimob trash pulls in conjunction with Shield Specialisation and the use effect from Figurine of the Colossus.

Even if you have good tanking trinkets already, try pick this up. Last boss can be duo'd and the whole chain takes about 20mins.

I'd only consider The Adamantine Figurine better for Druids personally, for Paladin and Warrior tanks this one eats the figurine alive. 15% Block is worth a lot more then 3% mitigation.

Given the cooldown this trinket is incredible and should be used on almost every pull.

15% Block Rating is actually useless if you're already capping the Attack Table, which Warriors and Paladins should.

The only reason I'd get this trinket is for next to Adamantine Figurine when I need to wear Resist gear and stay above the 490 Def Cap at the same time.

Even if you cap your 102,4%(?) as a paladin, in some fights you get silenced a lot and cannot use holy shield. Then this will help you a bit.

For Paladins alternating between Holy and Protection, the "Dimensius" quest offers two viable rewards, this trinket and some very good healing pants. I opted for the pants because they are the best you will find before Karazhan. (and they are nearly as good) But if you are set on Protection, this trinket is a great choice.

I have both this trinket and the Adamantine Figurine, but frequently forget to use them while tanking. Though neither is usually necessary, they can't hurt to use and have short cooldowns. So I ~~stole~~ modified the macro from the Lower City Prayerbook comments to have both in place of my usual Shield Block:

I have yet to test this to see if it's worth it to use, but I did try it out and it will trigger both trinkets at the same time if neither is on cooldown. They have different cooldowns so subsequent uses will trigger them separately (if you're spamming Shield Block), but it does hide the annoying errors you'd get from trying to use them while they're on cooldown. Also I don't know if the #showtooltip part is necessary or not, but I've got it in mine.

I picked Shield Block because it's an ability I spam every time it's off cooldown (particularly on boss fights, where the trinket probably helps the most) but you can probably use it on, say, Heroic Strike if you'd prefer.

Yes, both trinkets can be activated at the same time - they don't share cooldowns as of Nov 26.

Once you get this, hold onto it. I got rid of it when I "upgraded" my trinkets, and miss it frequently even far into SSC and TK. Some possible uses are on Hydross (with resist gear, it's hard to get your defense back up to uncrittable) and Tidewalker (the "use" can push crushing blows off the table).

Cooldown is 1.5minute, however tooltip in game stays 2minutes.

Currently I am building the resistance gear sets out for our tanks and off tanks. This trinket is nice to have along with Adamantine Figurine for the lose of Defense you take with resistance gear sets. Every tank should have one of these along with Adamantine Figurine.

If you choose to spec tanking spec on one of your alts perhaps even your main for WOLTK, then i strongly recommend that you get this trinket. You will most likely still use it at 80! The road to level 80 has, as far as i'v seen, a lack of tanking trinkets. The first trinket which has an usefull ability won't be availeble before around 78~ And it drops in a instance.

This only goes for people who don't have anything better from pre woltk. You won't regret takeing this one before or wile leveling in Northrend.

At 80 it still gives
6.1 to defence skill and 7.62% to block for 15 sec. Everything counts if you want to get def capped!

This is one of the few bc trinkets i support in full on naxx raids if people still have it. easier to cap and use different gear setup for pre-naxx, and still gives about as much as most trinkets leading up to the heroics.

If you can manage to hit the cap without it though, it might be time to explore other options.

This is still an awesome trinket to pick up for tanks leveling up. Every toon has to go through outlands to reach 80 & soon 85. I grabbed this on my DK while leveling through outlands and from searching the database it will last until ~78. Since 4.01 it has been changed to Dodge. Equip for 30 Dodge Rating and a Use of 125 Dodge Rating for 15 secs.

Previously, this trinket gave static defense rating and block on-use.

With the removal of both block chance on gear and defense as a stat, this has gone to static and on-use dodge; it's gone from being utterly useless for feral tanks to being better suited to ferals than any other tank, given how ferals gain bonuses for dodging that no other tank does.
