Either shirnks or enlarges, removes or adds 250 AP. Sometimes it enlarges/shirnks the entire party too. After my experience, it mostly works in your benefit, shrinking the enemy, enlarges you etc.

This trinket is one of the most fun I've ever had. Many Gurubashi Berserkers and other large raid mobs have shrunk to this mighty little thing.

Yes, it can effect raid bosses. So far, Hakkar, Ossirian, Onyxia, and even Ragnaros are affected by it. I'm not so sure on others.

Possible effects from WoWWiki:

Make the user bigger (attack power +250)
Make the user smaller (attack power -250)
Make the target bigger (same effect as above)
Make the user's entire party bigger
Make the user's entire party smaller
Make every attacking enemy bigger
Make every attacking enemy smaller
Give shield-wielding enemies "Improved Blocking" for 30 seconds (this shows no visible effect other than target is hit by the ray)

I found this trinket to be very useful while leveling my paladin. It has a short enough cooldown (5 minutes) that I can use it pretty frequently, and the effect lasts 20 seconds.

The range (wowhead says it's 30 yards, but it's hard to tell, it feels more like 20) also makes it very useful for pulling melee mobs away from groups (since paladins have almost no ranged ability). Most of the time it backfires, it makes you bigger instead, helping you kill things faster!

A very fun trinket indeed, I recently managed to get my hands on one and test it a little. Here's what i found out.

- Tested on Doomlord Kazzak, worked properly. I suppose it works on other 25 mans bosses like gruul too. Note: I have yet to try this.

- You do NOT have to be a gnomish engineer to use one. Only to make it, if you are goblin engineer you can farm the mats and have a gnomish engineer make it for you.

- It does not seem to be unique. It should be possible to equipt two at once, yet again I have to try this before it is confirmed.

- It backfires most of the time. Most of my tries it made me or my party bigger. I can however backfire and make either you smaller or even enlarge the target. The Enlarge will be fun to see on gruul.

- I seems to work entirely well on TBC mobs. I can however not check if it has a lowered effect. Help requested.

On the fun note; Nothing beats seeing npc's like Kazzak, Fel Reavers and other big mobs shrunken to the size of two humans on top of each other.

Hell yeah it would be so freakin' ROFLMAOOMFG too see Arthas The Lich King shrinked by this ray.Just think about it.Final encounter,and it's time for the Lich King to taste of what is made.Death.And some1 uses the ray.........it would be so freakin' funny to shrink Arthas to the size of a Gnome.......sry guys but I'm still ROFLMAO at the moment.Here's a sample,hope u'll like it.

There appears to be a new limitation put upon this trinket. I just tried to use it in Razorfen Down against the bosses there and I get the message "Target is too high." Apparently, the trinket will now only work on someone or something which is the user's own level or lower.

Today I got the message "Target too high level" when I tried to use it on a level 60 Boss, I will edit this when I've tried it on less bossy targets. Could simply be the boss immunity in an above comment.

Edit: Level 90 mobs were affected.
Edit: Heroic outland dungeon mobs were not while they had skull level.
Edit: Worked on 60 player but not in duel with skull level. At 90 90's are affected.
Edit: Mobs in red and orange level range are considered too high level.
*Target Dummies are affected.
*Quest mobs with a (!) mark on their portrait are affected.
*World elites (like the demons at the Outland gate) are affected.
*Rares are affected.
*Normal Dungeon Bosses are affected.
*Raid mobs are affected.
*Heroic mobs are affected.

After 60 levels of using it pretty much on CD I've yet to have a target GROW, so that may have been removed.
And I believe every now and then I increase more in size, gonna be tested further.

My conclusion is that skull, red and orange leveled mobs and players are "too high level" aswell as Boss classified mobs.

Confirmed to work on all mobs except Skull Levels.

I use it on almost every boss I encounter in a dungeon.

Effects are:
1. shrinks enemy, making them smaller and reducing attack power by about 112
2. Shrinks you and your entire team within about 40 yards reducing their attack power by about 112
3. Enlarges you and your entire team within about 40 yards increasing their attack power by about 112.. This is the BEST one!

This is hilarious in battlegrounds like WSG when it makes your team large and the field is swamped by giants. The enlarge effect is ridiculous. It makes you near Murmur size. Think Un'goro dino queen size.

So fun!
