Personally, I always liked the way I looked that season, so despite it being very easily obtained gear (who doesn't want to look unique?), I have been using it anyway.

First off, I hated the boots. During that season I always ran with Blood-Soaked Saronite Stompers, and I really liked the way the boots balanced out the top heavy set. If you like the look but don't feel like running 25 man ICC, blacksmiths with the patterns can make Boots of Kingly Upheaval and Boots of Kingly Upheaval.

As for the belt, I found myself stuck on this as well. I am not a big fan of Malevolent Girdle but it works. I settled on Onslaught Belt myself. Not a perfect match, but it fits fairly well with my chosen boots and just feels right to me.

Tabard wise I prefer the look of Tabard of the Achiever to Wrathful Gladiator's Tabard myself, and this will probably be true for many of the newer players as the tabard is now unobtainable.

Of course, if you are Horde, Battle Tabard of the Defilers trumps all, but I am currently Alliance and lacking my glorious green tabard of win. :(

Personally, I like the Relentless Gladiator set itself better except the boots, which I can't find a good alternative to as of patch 4.3 loot. I also have trouble picking a tabard for it, but that is another issue entirely.

"Ravencrest Girdle" seems to work best with the set i find. there are a few other green belts that look like it though.

This set looks great with Granmantello Instancabile, as for a shield Barriera del Terrore fits pretty well
As for weapons I use:

I find Cintura della Lama Fischiante to be fitting this set quite nicely along with the Insegna di Gilneas on my female worgen, even tho it's red.

Love this set on my warrior and the only weapon I find suits this set is: Vendicatore Draconico
When I tank old raids I also roll with: Lama della Condanna and Baluardo di Azzinoth

I'm a little shocked that Maglio Infuocato della Distruzione hasn't been mentioned yet as a weapon choice. The colors and look of the mace match well with the armor and as an added bonus it hides enchants!

I wish I could find a better helm. On a Tauren warrior the cowl style helm just doesn't look right everything else for this set is just amazing.

Edit: i found a really nice one that works on Taurens that I love. The Conqueror's Siegebreaker Greathelm looks incredible on male Taurens didn't care to look at other races.

Edit: Add a Recovered Scarlet Onslaught Cape and this set is epic on a male Tauren. This is my full set.

Note: Do a 3D view of this set on a goblin for a good laugh, gnomes are even more hilarious looking.

Good news everyone!
~~I think I've finally developed a plague that will destroy all life on Azeroth!~~ The belt has made it into the game at last! As of patch 7.2.
Find your way to Northrend Dalaran's Sewer, speak to Xazi Smolderpipe and buy the Ensemble: Wrathful Gladiator's Plate Armor for 12 Marks of Honor. Once you buy and use it, simply head to a transmog vendor and the belt will be waiting for you!

I was very happy that the belt was finally put into the game, I've even submitted a screenshot to this page here should you be interested in seeing the belt. (Or you could see it in the belt section of your appearance tab).
