Interestingly, this is the red version of the arcanist ragelia, which suits stylistically a fire mage, such as the other two, purple for an arcane mage and a blue for a frost mage.

This is a red version of the Mage Tier 1 Raid set.
It shares its design with the original Arcanist Regalia, but has a different colour scheme and different stats.
The pieces it is made of drop from various Outland heroic 5-man dungeon bosses:

Vesti Sanguinarie dell'Annichilimento drops from Cassa della Legione in Mecanar (both on heroic and normal difficulty)
Aureola Magica di Fuocotuono drops from Il Fabbricatore in Forgia del Sangue
Stivali del Rogo Magico Ricamati drop from Broggok in Forgia del Sangue
Mani del Sole drops from Musel'ek il Signore delle Paludi in Torbiera Sotterranea

Warning: before you attempt to farm this set out know that it will take a long time. All except one of these items are heroic-only and therefore you can only attempt to get them once per day. Most of them have a 4-7% drop rate, therefore unless you are extremely likely this whole set will most likely take you a month or two of farming every day to get.

Can anyone suggest a good-looking dagger or sword to go with this set?

I'm currently using a dagger and an off-hand on my mage (hence the question), and I already have the perfect off-hand for transmogrification purposes: Talismano dei Cuparovina.

Edit: Nevermind, I'm going to go with Squartaviscere Truculento.

By the way, the visible part of the gloves picked for this set is green. This won't do at all. I recommend replacing them with Guanti di Stoffa Carbonizzata.

Edit 2: I changed my mind, I'm still taking suggestions. What I really would like is a dagger with a red glow, doesn't matter how soft. The glow of Uragano on my actual weapon is intense, and intensely wrong colour.

Edit 3: Well, I finally got my Squartaviscere Truculento. Turns out it has a soft black spell effect that covers up the spell effect of Hurricane. I'm finally happy with what my mage looks like.

Edit 4: Edited to reflect the information that if a weapon that you use for transmogrification has a spell effect on it, it does indeed cover up whatever enchanted effects you have on your transmogrified weapon.

When I wear the headpiece, it looks more purple like the Arcanist one than red, has anyone else experienced the same thing?

If you're looking for a cloak with a similar color scheme, think about Cappa dei Misteri Ricamata.

It drops from the first boss in Blood Furnace, which is where two other pieces of the set drop from.

Most other red cloaks I've seen are the wrong shade of red, and this one is the closest I've found thus far.

I love this set but instead of the gloves, I'm using the Guanti di Stoffa Carbonizzata because the green of the gloves that go with this set just throws it all off for me.

For my weapons, I'm using Guida alle Spedizioni for my off-hand

and Lama del Vulcano for my main hand. They look fantastic together!

People have already covered a nice MH/off hand combo for this set, but can anyone think of a good stave to go with it? I've been looking for an hour now, and can't see anything quite right. A lot of the 'red' themed staffs seem to be pink, not really in keeping with the wonderful deep shades of red of this set. Any suggestions would be appreciated :)

Fun set for any lock on an RP server where being a lock should mean you'd be hunted down and burned for associating with "Demonic forces".
Would like to add the Bastone Focalizzato del Sole Infuso and the Bacchetta della Luce Fiammeggiante to the item list for those who are looking for a weapon for this set.

The Rod of Blazing light looks awesome.
It's worth noting that if you have the enchant Power Torrent on your weapon, then it obscures the design of Sun-Infused Focus Staff. (It looks awful in my opinion)

The Rod's design shines through the enchant. (not perfect but until we get to turn off enchant effects, then this is the best I have seen for this set.)

Got the rod 1st run, thought I might as well finish the dungeon and the white hawkstrider dropped :D
Very happy I read the comments and decided to go for the staff.

I love this set for my little mage~ Very pretty! I found a few pieces that also go well with the set, so I thought I would list them here for others who seek this set out~

Guanti di Pelle Suina earned from Un destino peggiore del macello - A more "red" pair of gloves, which matches the darker shades of the outfit.
Mantello del Tradito from Sacerdotessa Delrissa in Normal Magisters' Terrace - A nice cloak, if you prefer plain / less flashy cloaks...
Tormento delle Mosche from Legacy JP Vendor - A lovely, complex & detailed cloak, I like this one the most with this set~
Fascione della Ricostruzione from Normal Kael'thas Solealto - A nice alternative belt if the RNG hates you~

This set is very time consuming to get. Be prepared to farm for a while unless you're very lucky. Gossamer Gloves Guanti di Stoffa Finissima go nicely with this, as a backup. I was so excited to get most of the pieces, I couldn't wait for all of them to wear it. I'm using Girdle of Prophecy Cinturone della Profezia until I get the belt that goes with the set. My little priest looks adorable in the pieces we have managed to collect.

This is such a gorgeous set. To complete it, I went with Bacchetta della Luce Fiammeggiante for a staff, and finally found a very easy-to-acquire red cloak that isn't too orange.

Mantello Posteriore Spesso da Goblin is just the right shade of red, has a nice red-and-gold border that fits in nicely with the theme, and is sold for 150 honor points by Purkom in Grizzly Hills ("Grizzly" D. Adams if you are Alliance).

Edit: Not exactly sure what the downrater found unhelpful about this comment. It's an inexpensive and easy-to-obtain cloak alternative that goes well with the set and has not been mentioned in any of the other comments.

As a note for lazy farmers, you don't need the bracers or the pants since they don't show.
Also, if you aren't a fan of the gloves I would suggest something such as Guanti di Telamagica Nera or even Guanti di Telamagica Rossi, which are both available from a tailor. I'm sure there are better matches, but those are the ones that came to mind.

Cappa della Furia Scarlatta Recuperata is also a good match for this set, currently 579 JP in Dalaran which makes it cheaper than the 1250 JP Cata cloak (True as of 4.3)

I just wanted to consolidate a few other options, in case you are having bad luck with drops. Some good, some bad, some... ugly?

Hands: As stated before (tailoring) Guanti di Stoffa Carbonizzata fits almost better than the set gloves. View here.

Head: There are several options, some acceptable, some purely interesting:
(Drop) Aureola delle Fiamme looks like this with the set.
(Tailoring) Cappuccio di Furiaincanto looks like this with the set.
(DM Faire) Corona del Magistro - Replica looks like this with the set.
(Tailoring) Cappuccio di Telavile looks like this with the set.

Managed to finally complete this set and it looks amazing.
I'm currently using Bastone dell'Arcimago and Mantello del Dio Caduto with it.

Personally I think Guanti dell'Alto Magus goes best with this set, much better than Mani del Sole

If you're lucky enough to have the Coprispalle dei Re Elfici drop for you, consider using that and Copricapo del Grand'Ingegnere with the rest of this set. They mix extremely well together.

Well NOBODY TALK ABOUT IT, but the best match for a staff, is, in fact, GOLDEN STAFF OF SIN'DOREI

- Yes. Look I have twisted visage, there is some grey-green color, on the stick, this grey-green color aint match, the beige on the stick aint match too, too much beige color on that...

- Sun-Infused Focus Staff, the stick is brown, brown aint match too

- Archmage's Staff, is unavailable

- Vengeful gladiators war staff - There is some PURPLE on the stick, WTF, purple aint match man

- Gladiator's war staff - There is some PURPLE on the stick, WTF, purple aint match man, plus this one is not the good red color

- Sulfur Staves, the stick is not the good colors, its purple and beige, flute that!

- Staff of the plage beast, ? Nooo! The stick is grey man, grey aint match man!

- Bloodfire greatstaff, this is the most horrible, mentionned before, this staff is black and Brown, the worst of all saves mentionned on this comments page

- Sun-Infused focus staff, ok it match but its an ordinary staff, i mean it look like ordinary.

~~> So the only 2 staff that could match is Sun-Infused focus staff or my Golden staff of sin'dorei match but between these 2, Golden staff of sin'dorei win because it SHINE, it look like spectacular, it sparkles, glitter, gleam...
