Can any remember if the title was given upon receiving the Epic item (mount) or was it rewarded upon using the item & learning the mount? The Achieve says 'obtain the reins' but this may actually mean learn the mount, cheers.

Good stuff. I got mine today. While farming Crocolisk Tail for my Beer Basted Crocolisk. NPC Scan went off, first one I ever say, teleported me, was easy fight as 392 equipped Frost DK. New title and mount. 103 mounts now.

If you use the addon "NPC Scan" it WILL alert you when there is a mysterious figurine, however, it WILL NOT target the item for you since it is not target-able. Once you see the alert, you still have to find the item and "use" it.

I have heard that the NPC Scan alert will only flash if it is the correct figurine, but I find that doubtful. I was fortunate enough to randomly find mine on the first one. Of course, I didn't go looking for it. I found it just because my NPC Scan alerted me and spazzed out trying to grab it before someone else....even though no one else was around I wasn't missing my chance lol

I got the camel on my second figurine. If npc scan goes off, go into the npc scan list and if it's npc ID # 50409, it should be the correct one!

So I wander the vast emptiness of Uldum while waiting on queues....but I haven't seen a figurine in some time....I noticed its cached in NPCScan...I checked and "search for completed achiv npcs" is checked...but i'll be damned if I havne't seen a figurine in some time.

Is there an easy way to remove the NPCScan cache? I don't want to be missing figurines

Gooood Neeews everyone!

In 5.0 (Mists of Pandaria); Not only will the Grey Camel be shared with all your toons, but so will the Feat of Strength that comes with learning the mount.. And you know what that means? Aaall your toons will be able to become Camel-Hoarders!

I can verify that, at least for me, it was 09 that ported me to Dormus. I've been arch'ing for Tol'Vir for over 50 hours in the last week and NPCScan went off. Word.

Finally got it on my 17th camel statue.... I would have got it on the 12th but just as I got the npc scan warning, some other guy who I know already had the title showed up and took the statue before I could locate it....

Run NPC scan, takes some time you should check every morning and you will get it :) Have Faith!

I got this title while I was slogging through the <Insane> title, and have to say, now that I've got both titles, this one is so much better. I've seen lots of Insane, none other Camel-Horders.

I got the Camel Hoarder achievement/title last night. Here are the detailed steps:

1) Be doing some quest that has me picking up statues.
2) Find one that is green...ask why it is green....click on it.
3) View a cinematic and find yourself dumped into another zone.
4) Ask wife, "WTF happened?"
5) Hearth back and resume questing.
6) Ask wife, "What is this curse of the Camel Hoarder thing in the upper right?"
7) Continue to quest while wife looks stuff up.
8) Have wife bully me into flying across two zones to find the camel hoarder and kill him.
9) Get a camel mount and complain that it doesn't fly.
10) Quest for another 20 minutes before noticing that I now bear the title "The Camel Hoarder"

Seriously, I would have preferred a flying camel.

A fateful night, as I was pondering whether to sleep or keep playing WoW, I noticed my Ultrasafe Transporter: Gadgetzan was up and that I still needed a few hardened elementium bars to craft that Gnomish Gravity Well.

So I ported to Gadgetzan, flew to Uldum and started looking for nodes, and I thought "might as well flew over the spawn points for the camel figurine, you never know" as the ID for the correct Mysterious Camel Figurine was in the 'always scan for' SilverDragon list.

And there I was: flying, landing, mining. Until the alert suddenly went up that the figurine was near! I had never seen one, not even their leftovers. So I look and look everywhere, mildly afraid that someone would swoop in and find it first. I even mistake a few critters for it, and then my mouse actually ends over it and I right-click it.

Sure enough I get sent to the instanced Feralas plateau where Dormus the Camel-Hoarder was awaiting me. For an experienced hunter like me who had already visited the lands of Pandaria, it was an easy fight. And as I picked up the Reins of the Grey Riding Camel that's when I realized: I had done it, I had become... the new Camel-Hoarder.

To celebrate this, I slow-walked from Razor Hill to Ogrimmar on my new Grey Riding Camel greeting people in my wake, and eventually went back from Orgrimmar to Razor Hill with a small procession of 4 people, that was pretty awesome.

Moral of the story: Engineering saves camels.

Great. NPCScan can no longer find the figurines according to the maintainer. Guess those of us who haven't got the title already are well and truly $%^&ed.

A workaround, though considerably more difficult, is to enable name-plates (CTRL+V) and use TomTom. Thanks to dextermorgan for these:

These statues can be found all across Uldum, there are about 50 + locations these can be found at and upon interaction one of either 2 things could happen: it could even crumble at a touch and give you, (Resti della Statua Sbriciolata) or transport you to a nice resort, you could call this a mirage...

Getting the right statue works out to be along the lines of 1/16 and with the spawn timer, the earliest one I found was literally just over 6 hours and the latest one was almost 10 hours. So the respawn is random between 6 - 10 hours.

If you do find a Statuetta di Dromedario Misteriosa be sure to post in /1 General to let other hunters know that one has been found. But your hunt does not stop there! You can realm hop to another server to get the statues over there. But it will only work if the realm you hop to is not on the same CRZ list as your current.

Once getting the right statue you will be transported to the steam pools in Feralas. There you will be faced with, Dormus il Razziatore di Dromedari, and killing him you will get, Redini del Dromedario Cavalcabile Grigio. as well as a title, and the achievement, Girovago delle Sabbie Eterne!

But you can still share this mount with other people. Have your group members come to you whilst you still got the Rabbia di Dormus buff and begin realm hopping. As well as each CRZ has it's own Statuetta di Dromedario Misteriosa each CRZ will have it's own Dormus il Razziatore di Dromedari. Loot all the mounts with your members near you, they need to be in the same raid to have the same ID otherwise you cannot give them the mount.

Once you have all the mounts you need you can either fly away and meet up or wait until the buff fades away, then you simply trade them the mount.

Just got this at 11:53pm realm time on Tol Borad (Brazil). NPC Scan did not go off on me, almost missed it but noticed the green nameplate. Make sure to turn these on in case this happens to you and don't 100% rely on NPC scan.

PS : Make sure you have Nameplates turned on ctrl-V i believe
also add these to your NPC custom NPC ID : 50409 & 50410
I have also come to find that the rare Armagedillo roughly spawns same time as the camel figurine. /who in game, chances are if your the only one and its up the camel is as well. Find a LOW pop realm, I was able to capture the last 6.

There are 2 separate NPCs for these camel Figurines you can find
Statuetta di Dromedario Misteriosa - NPC ID: 50410 ___(This is the fake camel)
Statuetta di Dromedario Misteriosa - NPC ID: 50409 ___(This is the REAL camel)

You have a 5% chance of getting the right statue. And there is a spawn timer of between 2 - 8 hours!

If you do find a Statuetta di Dromedario Misteriosa, don't be disheartened... Your hunt does not stop there! You can change servers with a different CRZ. And now even Warmode, on and off have their own Statuetta di Dromedario Misteriosa too! Meaning you can be on one server with Warmode off, find a camel, go and change to Warmode on, go back to Uldum and find another camel, all on the SAME server!

Once getting the right statue you will be transported to the steam pools in Feralas. You'll of gained an exrea buff, Rabbia di Dormus, and from there you will be faced with, Dormus il Razziatore di Dromedari, and killing him you will get, Redini del Dromedario Cavalcabile Grigio. as well as the title, and the achievement, Girovago delle Sabbie Eterne!
