The Lake Creepers & Skulkers are both on the chain of islands to the East of Fenris Isle. Skulkers on the southern two, Creepers on the Northern two.

The droprate for Skulker Moss isn't bad at all, but the Creeper Moss is a very low droprate. Expect to kill quite a few of these guys before you get what you need.

Even though the quest says the Hardened Tumor is extremely rare, I got it on my first kill. The Vile Fin Murlocs are all up and down the East coast of these islands.

I don't know if it's because I am level 70 or because of a bug but after about 80 kills I couldn't get the Lake Creeper Moss to drop.

Drop rates for the moss was pretty quick for me, the hardend tumor was the pain......

it wasnt either the creeper moss or the skulker moss it was the tumor by far i dont know how many murlocs i had to kill for it but it got old real quick

I must have the worst luck in the world.....Oddly enough Creepers droped all 6 after 7 kills however Skulkers and murlocs both had well over 40 kills each murlocs being the worst!

I got tumor after 15 kills from thevile murlocs, rofl...8creepers and 8 kills for the skulkers. just depends on the drop rate of the tumor though, so keep killing till you get it. may the force be with u!

Tumor took me half an hour killed all of them waited for them to rez then killed more 50 plus kills. Creepers and sulkers killed like 20 each before i was done. Soloed at 23 rogue.

Just skip this quest. Between tumor drop rate and extremely long gy run, it's just not worth it.

Pretty easy, takes some killing of a few to get stuff to drop. I got the tumor from the vile fin murlocs at cords <65.79,14.19>

Got lucky and got the tumor in 4 or 5 kills, the creepers and lurkers had around a 50% - 60% droprate for me, so that was no problem either, took about 10-12 kills for each..
Either they nerfed this quest or I am very lucky.

The fact that the tumor is mentioned as "rare" three times in the quest text should say everything.

Got the tumor on the second kill. soloed as a 18 lock. no prob.

It took me 5 kills to get the tumor so 20% drop rate. They do drop on average 80-90c worth of loot each though, so its alright.

The drop rate for the creepers is about 30-35%, but the loot for me was incredible, about 9-10s worth each on average.

Rare tumor? Fine. I found one on around my tenth kill. But the creepers and stalkers kept teasing me just for a few handfuls of moss. After I was getting sick of killing five of them in a row and not finding a single one, I finally picked up my last four in a row.

this DOES count for the loremaster of eastern kingdom. as of january 29th 2010. i was at 502 quests when i turned this in and now at 503.

These things do the terribly annoying Moss Covered Hands debuff, which makes you drop your weapon at random. Lasts 3 minutes, too.

But about that tumor... You only get one for the quest. If it doesn't drop immediately, it shouldn't be any surprise, since you only need one.

Descrizione

According to Berard's Journal the moss from Lake Skulkers and Creepers might prove useful for our quest to brew a new plague. Those beasts dwell on the islands in Lake Lordamere to the east.

He also mentions a very rare Hardened Tumor that he discovered on a Vile Fin murloc. Apparently the tumor is so rare Berard was only able to obtain one.

Collect samples of the moss as well as the rare hardened tumor and take them to Master Apothecary Faranell in the Undercity.
