Just as a point, these are the high quality veins of Fel Iron, like silver/gold/truesilver. Just about anywhere that can be fel iron, can be Khorium. (So Hellfire is one of the best spots to hunt it)

I must say that the best place to farm this in in Nagrand... I easily fill a 18 slot bag every day with both Adamantite ore, Eternium Ore and Khorium ore. just be patient and keep farming. my record for filling a 18 slotter was 4 hours and 54 minutes and ONLY in Nagrand.

I see them spawn randomly across Nagrand...moreso in the southern side of the map around Oshu'gun. Don't go looking just for them...they should kinda pop up when you least expect it.

I'd have to say that i find 1 Khorium Vein in every 40-50 Adamantite/Fel Iron veins in Nagrand. The rate doesn't seem that high, but if you get pretty occupied in farming, you'll see more and more of them. Good luck. =/

And I've gotten a living ruby from these nodes both times I've mined them so far. (seen it once before when I was only 3 skill short with +mining on my dark leathers)

As of 5/26/2007 the average spawn of these over normal veins is ~0.4%. Incredibly low. Also if someone with a low skill cant mine it usually someone who can comes through soon enough. Not like it de-spawns or anything,

Confirmed, Khorium can replace all outland nodes (Fel Iron, Adamantite, Rich Adamantite) and has a ridiculous chance of finding them.

I mined Fel Iron / Adamantite / Rich Adamantite 164 times

And I mined Khorium Veins 7 times.

Basically, the chance a Khorium Vein will appear instead of Fel Iron / Adamantite or Rich Adamantite is 0.4% (very low chance)

For some reason, on my server Khorium is hard to sell, whereas Adamantite flies off the AH faster than light.

Thus, I curse at my screen when I fly up to where an adamantite node should be and find this purple POS.

Although I just got 375 mining yesterday I can assure u that Nagrand is the top area for khorium.
It must be like 12 times I saw khorium vein and couldn't mine them :(
One is almost there in the cave with the elite ogre at Warmaul Hill. Easy to find many of them if u r doing quests in the area. Good luck guyz!

You may gather Khorium with a skill of 370 by using an + 5 Mining (http://www.wowhead.com/?item=11203) enchantement which is not that expensiv to get.

Nice idea about the mining enchant, BUT it's pointless. In the time it would take you to get the mats, find an enchanter, get the gloves enchanted, go back to outland, and find a khorium vein you could have EASILY mined 5-10 nodes for the last 5 points ok mining skill. Honestly, if you goto outland at lvl 58-60 with 300 mining you will be at 375 mining way before you hit 65.

Might be worth mentioning that as of a few patches ago, obtaining blue quality gems seemed to have increased dramatically from Khorium Vein. At first I thought I was just lucky getting 2 blues in one khorium vein but the next 5 times I found a khorium vein, I obtained even more blues and some greens. This might be because of the rarity of this node as it's only found in one place per zone at one time (although they have been known to bug and appear twice in the same place)...but who knows. I will say this, for my fellow Khorium Hunters, Don't get discouraged if you spend an hour or two and mabye find only 2 ores. Its out there just keep hitting a set route, and youll start doing your victory rituals before you know it when you see em.

It looks like the best spot to find it is Hellfire Peninsula. Players who are still leveling mining will encounter it, but wont be able to mine it until they move on to other zones. However, in the other zones, players are at max mining and can mine it if they come across it.

Be reading to turn hysterical when you are farming for khorium after certain amount of time. When I was farming for Khorium I would often mistake some mobs for a Khorium vein. I also every time I see another player I get this "OMG THEY FARMIN MAH KHORIUM" paranoia :P

So having pvp gear would be nice cause I'm sure I would be ganking anyone trying to mine my khoriums :P

Khorium Ore isn't that difficult to obtain, it just needs to be actively farmed rather than searched for. What this means is the following:

Simply select a zone and start mining everything there, continually going around in circles. Every Outland vein you mine has a chance of repopping as a Khorium vein. Given that there are far less people in Outland these days than there were before Wrath of the Lich King, the chances are pretty good that you yourself are the next person to arrive at a vein when it has respawned. As long as you keep flying around mining every vein you come across and continue to do so, all the Khorium that repops is usually yours. From my own experience of mining like this in Nagrand, I usually get several Khorium veins each time I complete a circle.

I use two add-ons to help me farm it, which are great to have if you're a miner or herbalist anyhow: Gathermate and Routes. Gathermate keeps track of any veins you've come across, and you can import data from the Gathermate_data add-on so you won't have to discover everything yourself. With Routes you can then calculate the most efficient route to visit all possible spawn points in a zone, and display that route on the map and minimap. This makes the farming simply a matter of following a line and mining every vein you detect near it on your minimap.

This way it's only taken me a few hours to mine all the Khorium for my Turbo-Charged Flying Machine. Hope this helps.

Whenever I get bored with achievements or running 5-man dungeons and need to make a bunch of gold, I come to Nagrand in search of ore. I use no specific routes or addons to assist me, yet have had pretty good luck with the Khorium. Some days I'll find none, and once in a while I'll get a day like I did about a week ago. I hit 4 Khorium veins in a row. I think when it comes to something with as low of a spawn rate as Khorium, it's all luck. Keep the faith, folks. Happy mining.

I say Isle of Quel'Danas is a marvelous spot to grind Khorium ores. It has no competition, since the island has been completely abandoned since WotLK, so when a Khorium Vein does pop up, it's sure to be yours. I've been riding around the edges of the island for about 3 hours now, I've collected about 40 Khorium ores, 500 Adamantite and 50 Eternium ores. I'm not gonna calculate the spawn chance, since I hate maths and it's my holidays. Anyways, happy mining, I'm gonna go go craft my Turbo-Charged Flying machine now, finally <3

As of patch 3.3.5. it appears that khorium veins no longer spawn in place of fel iron nodes.

This means khorium only spawns as a replacement to adamantite or rich adamantite nodes.

I spent several hours farming for my Turbo-Charged Flying Machine Control in Nagrand. My results are:

That's 6.15% of Khorium from all the ores I farmed. You only need 48 Khorium Ores for the Flying Machine, but I found another vein on my way back to Shattrath.

My advice is: be patient, very patient.

Sigh. You're being luckier than me, Darkfiend. I spent the whole afternoon/evening farming and got approximately half that amount of Khorium Ore. Similar levels of the other three metals though.
Patience is fine up to a point, but this very quickly gets frustrating =(

I read the advice regarding Isle of Quel'danas, followed it - and hmmm, so what?
I also read the comment saying "I've been riding around the edges of the island" - jackpot! This plus the inland veins at the staging area is fantastic!

On my 3rd lap I spotted my first Khorium. Spotted my 2nd on the same run. I mined a node, read a comment here, came back - it had respawned. Underground Isle must be so crowded with minerals they fight for surface!

I've noticed a few things... on each run you are guaranteed something like 6-7 nodes. One is near a spot behind the portal from which you used to do something with a daily quest long ago, the demon invasion area. One is below MgT, either just where you enter the "naga area", or on the left turnm just before grass runs out. One is roughly in the middle of the naga area, soon before the cursed shred of land (where you did the daily bomber quest) One is (hahaha, just tabbed into wow, a vein had respawned right at my feet, where there only minutes ago was an identical one!) One is right where you reach the bomber area from the north naga side, cannot miss it, it's a short distance from the beach. Then one or two is located at either of the "ridges" in the big grass area, where the wretched roam. By ridge I mean the dark slopes in the grass, they're clearly pointed out on the map.

Between every say 4th run or so, to keep your mind off the monotom...something, stop by the village and melt your ores to free space!

I'll continue farming here now, but I don't wanna say that Outland Sucks!, once I found 2 khorium veins at the same time within the ogre cave in southern Blade's Edge, with a 3rd one in the camp just east. The ogre caves in Nagrand, the Death Forge in Shadowmoon, the mana forges in Netherstorm, all are great sights to remember when searching.
Oh... blue is no longer a colour I treasure, and I'm going on a cruise tomorrow. Wonder if they'll understand this excuse when I claim I have to stay in the bar, haha.

A few tips:

* Wanna farm in the Isle of Quel'Danas? - No flying there in case u forgot... yes u need to run... If you have a 310% mount or u're a DK then u will fly A LOT faster so U might want to stick with Outlands

* The self-claimed Khorium paradise in the Isle of Quel'Danas is utter bull@#$% IMO. I have spent at least 10 hours in the past few days, I mined a total of 9 ore...

* Don't believe stories like: "Khorium will appear where Adamantite was before... nonsense

Quel'Danas aint a zone where you WILL find it, its just a easier place to handle and control the spawns.

Easier to spot competition etc etc.
Imo farming in nagrand CAN give you more khorium faster, or less, its all about luck, more nodes that can spawn khorium, but also shared spawns, so it can spawn in a different area next time.

Me myself, well, having full control and view of the nodes do help my mindset to farm ease a lot.

I dont need to dive every damn node and hope its a khorium or anything for that matter.

All of you who got 60000+++ adamantite.. sell it and buy khorium!
Having quel'danas as a simpler route to take I can multi task easier, check movies, read stuff and wahtever.
While on flying mount I need to have much more focus so I dont miss a node, get stuck or fly to far off.

It all depends on your playstyle, there is no magic trick to mine khorium.
Everyone can do it equally easy!
Its all about luck ;D

For people who are checking the Isle to farm this, which i find to be a great place. Be aware that the node locations have changed a bit with the latest patch so dont count on your gatherer.

I ran two circuits around the Isle and found 2 Khorium veins.. actually 1 khorium vein that spawned in the same spot. The southern tip of the island where the undead are fighting. However, I left the zone as I got stuck in combat EACH circuit. I don't know if I was unlucky but I'd only recommend the Isle if you like relogging or running. :(

I just finished farming for Turbo-Charged Flying Machine in Nagrand.

Almost all of the mentionned above is still true.

It's a grind, nagrand and Isle of Quel'danas are nearly empty, and u have the droprate as described before. I tried most tips mentionned.

My approach:
Farming in Isle of Quel'danas has in my opinion an improved droprate. Problem there is that there are only a few spawnpoints and that u cannot use a flying mount. Therefor i would advise to go for Nagrand. I used a fast flying mount together with the hud display of the addon Gatherer.

I mined for khorium in Isle of Quel'Danas for 3 hours and here are my results

x3 Khorium Ore
I guess it is just a matter of luck. I had my Alliance character and my Horde character frequently checking /who and I was the only one there the entire time.

as of 4.0 patch this node map of Isle of Queldanas is no longer accurate there is around 5 more new spawn locations for any ore veins on the island and the nodes will rarely respawn the same place twice in a row(usually alternating every other group spawn). As such only 5-7 nodes spawn per respawn cycle, and the chance for them to be khorium seems to have dropped immensely (done 20 some cycles now without a single khorium node though I may just be unlucky.).

only 12 khorium ore! =(

I just ran through Nagrand trying to get enough Khorium ore together for a Turbo-Charged Flying Machine. It took me roughly 4 hours over 2 days but I managed to collect 31 Khorium Ore, 24 stacks of Mote of Earth, 5 stacks of Mote of Fire, 3 stacks of Eternium Ore, 15 stacks of Adamanite Ore and 6 stacks of Fel Iron. I used GatherMate2 and Routes, set up correctly this will save some time, and tracked every type of vein in the zone. It's boring but effective if you really need the Khorium.

For me, the most common spawn location is in/around the lake North of Oshu'Gun, as this is a common flight path, it probably get's mined alot, so more chances at Khorium.

forgottenring is mistaken, or extremely unlucky, or I was extremely lucky (doubtful - I have horrible luck).

I went to the Isle to farm today. I only needed 15 ore for my mount, but here is my lap results:

1 Khorium vein, rest addy
1 Khorium vein, rest addy
1 Khorium vein, 2 rich addy, rest addy
1 rich addy, rest addy
1 Khorium vein, 1 rich addy, rest addy

So 4 out of 5 laps for me had a Khorium vein.

Altogether I got:

80 addy ore
13 eternium ore (extras in the addy veins)
15 khorium ore
70 motes of earth
15 motes of fire
2 deep peridot
3 flame spessarite

So it is still a viable farming location.

I was in Mana Tombs during a random group recently and happened upon a khorium node...didn't have a chance to mine it because we were moving too quickly, and ended up going all the way back to get it when everyone else left, along with an adamantite node I'd missed.

Moral of the story, if you see nodes in dungeons, don't pass 'em up! I ended up with 4 khorium ores, 1 eternium ore, 4 motes of fire, 3 motes of earth, and a talasite gem, all from the one node. Talk about loaded--it was certainly worth the extra minute it took to run back!

Honestly, I can't really say I agree with all of the above posts. I think if you're powerfarming Nagrand over and over where everyone else is also farming, the chances of finding a node are even lower than what they already are. Granted it may have the most nodes, but instead of basing your location choice on the number of nodes, try going to the places where you aren't going to have competition. I flew from HP to Swamprat Post and went north up through Blade's Edge and scoured that whole map, then over through Netherstorm and that whole map. I found roughly 4 Khorium veins in 1.5 hours and didn't see anyone else farming, especially in Blade's Edge. Also wound up with 100 Adamantite Ore, 24 Eternium, 70 Fel Iron, and a number of gems for my JC alt.

Farming on weird hours also helps too. This was around 2pm EST if you can hit up your account then.

I found 10 khorium veins within 15 minutes of farming in Nagrand, either I am super lucky or god loves me, in either case, most of them I found in caves, so i STRONGLY advise anyone who is looking for khorium veins to check in the caves around Nagrand.

I was in Nagrand a day or so ago and randomly ran into three right in a row for 11 ores. Otherwise, I've mined a lot in Zangarmarsh, Hellfire, and Nagrand recently and barely come across them.

For those of you who might have played FFXI, this reminds me of ironically, Khroma ores. Those were a rare mine-up in only one zone of the game and I estimated after too many hours to admit that they had a 0.001% chance of popping. At least WoW Khorium nodes aren't *as* rare and are a BRIGHT purple to boot ;).

Not mined enough in WoW yet to give you a firm % rate. I believe all three points in Nagrand were originally Adamantite or Rich Adamantite as well.

The rate of these purple bad boys has indeed increased mainly evident in the current AH prices. i remember a few months back they were going for 100g per ore/bar (varied), now I can buy them for 20g each. So glad I unloaded my stockpile before the rate increased. Good news for engineers trying to level though.

Nagrand is def good spot for this ore. To top it off if your an engineer there are tons of windy clouds to tap into for Mote of Air. Primal Airs still fetch a very hefty price on the AH.

These things seem to be crazy rare now, not sure which patch it changed but I've only been able to find 1 vein in the last 2 days of grinding, 1 vein! And auction prices are absolutely insane now, over 50g just for a single ore and buyout prices into the thousands for a stack, what the heck happend to this, why did blizzard nerf the spawn rate so bad!

As of this current patch, the rate (for me) (so far) is Zero. ZIP. Nada. And I've been gathering minerals in Nagrand for ONE WEEK.

So, forget Khorium in Nagrand. I mined riched veins, normal deposits, you name it. Nothing with the 'khorium' name on it. Tagging it as out-of-date as I post this comment.

Does anybody know what level these turn grey at for mining? I was cruising around mining and herbing, and these bad boys were still green at a mining level of 456.

That's right, a whole expansion of skill increases later and these things were STILL granting skill-ups.

desc: Find an extremely rare, heavily farmed, and mostly hidden Khorium Vein in one of the following places:
-Hellfire Peninsula
-Terokkar Forest
-Zangarmarsh

It is best to look for Khorium in the morning when there are fewer people on. I found 6 Khorium nodes this morning in Nagrond within an hour (actually 7, but one was ninjad from me when my computer was having trouble connecting to their server).

If you are trying for it in the middle of the day, you will have a hard time finding it with as many people as are on.

Protip. They are much more likely to spawn in a dungeon like mana tombs crypts or shadow labs at 85-90 you can walk past most mobs

I don't suggest mana tombs though because it is impossible to get past some groups of mobs

All, please remember that ore node types replace each other randomly.
The map above shows the possible positions of Khorium nodes, which is where any Adamantite or Fel-Iron node may be.
I found a Khorium vein where I had an Adamantite vein on my map (thanks, Gatherer add-on).

If you are looking to somewhat farm these, and don't want to go around about everywhere in Outland, during my routes, that only got me 1 Khorium node in Nagrand, I noticed that the cave at the bottom of Raven's Wood in Blade's Edge Mountains, has a very high spawn rate of adamantite nodes. So I figured, that since Khorium spawns from Fel Iron and Adamantite nodes, if I kept farmind these, they would eventually appear.
It worked!

Just keep on the center of the cave, located at 32; 37, farm the adamantites you find and eventually Khorium nodes will appear. DON'T Give Up! I farmed for about an hour and between 5 minutes I got 2 Khorium nodes, which is better than roaming for two and finding one!

The very best place that I have found is in Netherstorm there is a cave entrance at 25.4 44.5 in the Mangoforge Area there are tons of spawn points in this cave for Adamantite ore just keep running the cave and you will find the Khorium Ore your looking for. There's also another cave not far from this one at 58.8 42.2 hope this help you find what your looking for.

I found a really nice spot for farming these, it's easy but still a long grind to get a few. YOU WILL NEED A REALM HOPPING ADDON - This is the key to production in this spot. It is a small cave, easy to navigate and when standing in the middle you can see almost every possible node on your minimap. Also, with each kill of the mobs in the cave you will gain rep with The Mag'har. Location is (76.0, 62.4) - Cave entrance. Each time you hop realms you should get two nodes, but don't hop too quick. Leave time for your own realm to load back in because the nodes there will be resetting regularly as well.

I farmed for about 2 hours and these were my results

• 58 Eternium Ore
• 321 Mote of Earth
• 24 Mote of Fire
• 408 Adamantite Ore
• mix of gems
• 19 Khorium Ore <<<< Not too bad! almost 10 Bars.

Khorium vein still replaces the Fel Iron deposit. So you can still farm it via Fel Irons, but it's very rare.

Honestly, it does not worth the time spent farming this.
For 12 hours of flying across Nagrand I got only 1 vein which gave me 3 ores and I ended up buying the rest from AH for 988 per bar.
You would literaly earn more gold farming legacy instances and selling the items.

Soooooo many Blacksmithing items I never bothered to create back in the day of outlands but it MUST have now, and Soooo little Minerale di Korio around for me to mine. I can't justify almost 4k per bar so I'll continue to mine Nagrand and cry into my drink.
