Uhm. I'll add that the deposits do have a chance to mine out rare gems on my server (Dragonblight-EU) even though it doesn't actually state this on this site. I have no clue why... Yes, I did verify this with a few other guild mates before posting this.

Last night I was able to mine a " Star of Elune ", I dont know much about it except for the fact that its not posted on Wowhead under a drop for adamantite and I made a free 50 gold.

Can anyone inform Wowhead of this drop?

0.4%? wow. I once mined 3 blue gems out of 3 adamantite deposits in a row. no lie, First deposit I got a noble topaz, second another noble topaz, and third a nightseye, so yes it is possible to get blue gems out of these, I don't know why wowhead doesn't show that

Just a tip, don't forgot you can get + 5 to mining skill on gloves, this helps alot!.

I found most of my nodes in Blades Edge Mountains.
Also, if you do laps around Ogri'la you can find a few nodes, especially around where those blasted Fel Cannons are :(

This is a recent change I think because it used to show them all. Kind of a bummer but it's pretty easy to see from this thread that Nagrand, SMV, and BEM are the best places to farm Adamantite.

You can also find an adamantite deposite in the Shadow Labs, in the back right corner of the room containing the second boss. Just make sure you clear that side first

Is it just me or is this the most farmed object in the game?

On Mal'Ganis there are constantly 2-3 miners following every loop in every zone. It's pretty frustrating trying to get Adamantite.
For example, on Hakkar, my typical route through three zones would net me 40-60 Adamantite. That same route on Mal'Ganis gets me about 20, if I'm lucky. :(

I seem to have the best luck just going around Blade's Edge and hoping I catch a node here and there, so that's my recommendation.

Don't forget to swoop inside a cave as you're flying by one around BEM and or NE. Since those caves are rarely visited by miners, they are guaranteed to have between 1-3 Adamantite Deposits. Sometimes spawning a Fel Iron or Khorium mine instead of an Adamantite Deposit if you're unlucky / lucky (whichever one you prefer). Caves are also one of the best places to farm mines.

I was just wondering if anyone has any decent routes to use in Netherstorm or BEM? Nagrand is extremely farmed on my server, and often a lap will only result in 3 nodes (With an epic flyer) so I was considering trying a different zone. Thanks in advance!

Since 2.4 these can also be mined at Isle of Quel'Danas.

I found a few good veins at the dead scare and the Nagapart of the Island, since most people are only doing the dailys and don´t care about going there. If you take a trip on the daily bombing quest you get a good view of the island and since there´s not much else to do anyway you can just check for veins and come back and mine them after your flight. Most of the time atleast.

Ise of Quel'Danas is probably the best place to farm Adamantite Ore and level your mining skill from 325 to 375. The nodes are spawning too quickly ^^.
Took me 2-3 hours to level up my mining skill from 325 to 375, just running around the Isle. Since the nodes are situated all over the isle, you'll need to run it all around to gather up the ore. And most likely when u get to the place u've started from, the node will respawn already, so you can farm it non-stop (if there is no competition ofcourse, in case if there is - it'll take abit longer).

As it is now, there is always competition there. It's so heavily populated with daily-seekers.

This is not a good zone. For leveling mining. Maybe it was for you but unless you can camp nodes, somebody will get the respawns before you can.

The Isle of Quel'Danas, going in a clockwise rotation starting at any point takes approximately 8 minutes. I timed several of my circuits, and as I would arrive, the nodes would spawn 3-5 seconds later, so it would be much harder to cut any more time from it.

This was doing a "low-aggro" run, assuming you are level 76-80 and do not aggro any unnecessary mobs. Almost always there was at least 1 Rich Adamatite Deposit in the 6, with an average of about 6-7 mines. The regular ones usually averaged 2-3, with quite a high percentage of 2's.

You will hit anywhere between 40-45 nodes per hour doing this circuit, netting usually 120-135 Adamantite Ore per hour, as well as a random amount of Motes of Earth (Primal Earth), about 16-20 Eternium Ore depending on luck, and various Outlands gems.

A good spot to mine a few is on the Island...there arent many but they respawn pretty fast and since WoTLK came thre arent much ppl that can steal it from you! ^^

Confirmed Isle Of Quel Danas is the fastest way to Farm Adamantie ore. in my opinon just go in circle as the maps shows.. Respawn rate is very fast.

The Isle of Quel Danas is the best place for mining Adamantite. The respawn is so fast that by the time you do a complete tour around the Isle, they're back. Lots of rich nodes to, every once in a while you'll get Khorium too

Wowhead shows the highest number of nodes in Nagrand, but it was pretty thin on the ground, in my experience. You may have better luck, but I found it mostly clustered around a few caves. A full circuit would net me about 30-35 ore. That may not sound too bad, but it's nothing compared to the fel iron you can pick up in HFP. I can net 50 ore easily, and I don't have to investigate any cave interiors. My advice is to look elsewhere.

It states on wowhead that adamantite nodes can drop 1-8 motes of earth, im just curious but has anyone acually gotten 8 motes of earth from an adamantite deposit?

I have had better luck in Nagrand than the Isle. The adamantite in the caves in nagrand spawns fairly fast like the ones on the isle, but I did 3 circuits on the isle and only got 3 nodes per circuit.

I must just have really bad luck with the so called "Best" zones to mine, because I had the same problem back in Un'Goro with Thorium.

As of 3.3.5 these and rich adamantite deposits are the only veins that can spawn khorium.

Isle of Quel Danas is the place to go. Long trips around he island, but its empty, and the normal to rich node ratio is very high. I needed 44 ore and gathered it in just a few trips around the island. Only had to kill maybe a handful of mobs to get it done.

My experience in Nagrand, and Outland mining as a whole, was horrible. I went from levelling from 200-300 in an hour in old world. and it took me 4 hours to get 50 measly points in HFP and Nagrand. It sucks. There are no nodes, despite the above map. And of the ones on there, half of them are Rich Adamantite or Khorium, which nobody who is actually IN the zone can mine. I wish there was a despawn timer if you don't mine something. Like 2 hours.

I've been looking around nagrand for adamantite for the past 45 minutes and gone up about 6 skill levels.

There are more rich adamantite and khorium deposits than normal adamantite deposits.

Hey guys. These is easy obtained. Just go north east. then there is some caves which have 1 normal and 1 rich. thats awesome. you will be able to mine 200 in one hour.

I seriously found about 10 nodes of Adamantite in one whole round about of Nagrand...

This is sooo straining trying to lvl JC.
I think it is better off mining Fel Iron and using those for JC leveling, to those lvling JC.

Probably same goes for lvling mining. Just skip adamantite ores in general because the nodes in Nagrand are HORRIBLE

Edit: Did this at a time where NO competition would exist whatsoever. The nodes are just way too nerfed

Respawn timer r terrible, sometimes you may run around island over and over again without a single nod respawn.

No even talking 'bout khorium ore - none drops.

The best place to farm Adamantite Ore was and still is Shadowmoon Valley. One 30 min session yielded me 63 Adamantite, 53 Fel Iron Ore, 7 Eternium Ore, 3 green gems, 60 Motes of Earth and 7 Motes of Fire.

The zone is smaller than Nagrand, so each lap takes perhaps 12 minutes. Each zone has a certain number of nodes that will be present at any given time. This means that you will find the ore faster than you will in a larger zone. You will also find more Khorium as you are clearing out the Adamantite nodes faster. Furthermore, as very few levellers actually bother going to Shadowmoon anymore, your competition for nodes will be drastically reduced.

You may not want the Fel Iron but with so few people farming it these days and with people still needing it to level Blacksmithing, Jewelcrafting and Engineering on their alts it's AH price is astronomical.

Do yourselves a favour and forget Nagrand and Quel'danas.

Just a note - you can't just smelt adamantite from when it turns orange through to when something else trains. Smelting adamantite turns grey at 340, and you don't have another smelting trained till 350. You *have* to go out and mine in the wilds for those 10 points.

Was trying to farm this to level JC, because the ore is superexpensive/nonexistent on the AH, found a very good way to go about it.

Go to Shattrath, then fly south to that giant circle thing that has 4 instances, enter the northernmost one, which is Mana Tombs.

I average 5min a run on my Fury Warrior, could be done faster with faster classes, got about 2 deposits each run. BUT, the real plus of doing it this way is the boss called Tavarok, once he dies and you loot him, you're able to mine his body which will give you Adamantite Ores and also the actual Gems you're looking for to level JC.

The disadvantage of this is that you can only do 5 runs per hour before hitting "You've entered too many instances recently.", but if it takes me 25-30min to reach that limit I can just go farm for 30-35min elsewhere and go back. Or, even better, get some rest, do some heroics, whatever's funner than farming.

I just don't get it. I used to trip over this stuff in TBC, but now it's nowhere to be found.

Nagrand is useless. Don't even bother.
Quel'danas is where it seems that you'll have most competition, and there are very few nodes, even if they respawn quickly, it feels slow.
Netherstorm was a bit more fruitful than Nagrand, but all the caves that show a high density of nodes were pretty bare.
Blades Edge gave me the most luck, but even after an hour, I only had 2 stacks of ore.

I think not finding mine ore nods is because of the server merging randomly, this is to keep populations up in low pop areas. People just come to these areas to mine the ore, I mean farm the ore. What i think Blizz needs to do one of two things or all both. Make the spawn rate faster on the ore, or make the mine nods server specific. I not sure if this will happen but it seems no one is finding very much very fast.

best place to farm this is definately blades edge mountains in MoP but you may want to get your skill to 350 (340 with +10 bonus) so you can get the rich viens as well as id say about 1/4 of them are rich viens

The best possible place to mine this is in Netherstorm. There is a the mine with it's entrance at 61.0, 45.7. This mine has an almost instant re-spawn of the nodes. By the time you get to one end of the mine, the nodes at the beginning have re-spawned. Happy Hunting!

I'm not sure if this is just my server, but as of 6/3/13 the nodes linger after they've been mined for about 1 minute. You can still interact with them (mining animation and cast bar) but you don't get anything from it. It's a little confusing because the nodes still show on the mini-map.

EDIT: Seems like it's all Outland mining nodes. I tested Adamantite, Rich Adamantite, Fel Iron and Khorium.

Based on my experience of the last hour or so, here is what I would suggest...

If you are specifically looking to just level your mining, then it does not matter where you mine in Outland; any place will do.

If, however, you are specifically looking to mine Adamantite in order prospect it for Adamantite Powder, then I would strongly suggest that you take an hour or two to do the route on the Isle of Quel'Danas, repeating the route every 8 minutes or so (even if the route itself only take 5).

I tried the mining route for Shadowmoon Valley. It took me roughly 24 minutes, which is what it would take to do three good runs around IQD. Overall, you may get about the same amount of ore, but with SMV, easily half of it will be Fel Ore, which is useless for powder grinding. Therefore, if you're looking to level JC (or need the ore to level Blacksmithing too), then I think the Quel'Danas route is the best.

If you wish to heavily farm these, just head to the cave at the bottom of Raven's Wood in Blade's Egde Mountains, at 32;37.
They have a high spawn rate (about 3-4 mins) and are very near one another!

After many nearly fruitless trips around Nagrand , I decided to have a go at Blade's Edge Mountains.

I made a lap around the outer edge and then another around the inner section. This took me exactly 20 minutes with Artisan Riding.

I stopped twice to kill two different rare spawns:
Morsfond at the northernmost section of Razor Ridge on the east side.
Hemathion slightly north of Ogri'La on the west side.

I ran into 2 caves, both of which were very small and contained 2 deposits each:
Blackwing Coven, south of Raven's wood in the northeast.
Draenethyst Mine, south of Bloodmaul Outpost in the far south.

From my short trip I yielded:

Minerale di Vilferro x23
Minerale d'Eternio x13
Minerale di Korio x7

Granulo di Terra x41
Granulo di Fuoco x16

Not too bad for twenty minutes. The time between nodes is pretty consistent. Most players hit 68 and head to Northrend before they get a chance to quest in Blade's Edge Mountains, so there aren't many (or any) players there.

Between Nagrand, Zangamarsh, and Blade's Edge, I would say Blade's Edge definitely takes the cake. It seemed to have the most amount of spawns along the easiest to follow courses. My problem with Nagrand was that a lot of the spawns were in the middle of the map and were difficult to time consistently. Blade's Edge made it easier to create a course that you could cycle through on a regular basis.

Stick to Nagrand and hit up the mines only. Adamantite deposits aplenty. The mine entrances are right there on the map, nothing could be easier. I used to bang my head against the wall trying to mine this stuff, and then some beautiful bastard posted this on a farming guide and my life got so much easier.

Note: cave entrances are also on map, and are identical to mine entrances of course, but in my experience they have zero deposits to offer.

None of these areas are yielding much at all anymore. I have been farming Nagrand, Netherstorm, and Blade's edge for about 2 hours trying to level my mining, and I am still only at 44. Anyone have any new spots?
