Acroniss is located in Twilight's Run, a cave in the northeast tip of Silithus. He spawns all the way in the back of the cave, on a summoning circle right next to Vyral the Vile. Good luck taming!

EDIT: The landscape of Silithus changed in patch 7.3.2, destroying most of the zone, including the cave where Acroniss spawns. In order to gain access to the cave after the Wound in the World event, you must talk with one of the two Bronze Dragons in the zone to travel back to the old version of Silithus.

Rhonormu is all the way down on the South side of the zone, at the Scarab Dias, and is more convenient if you're flying in from Uldum. He does not have a visible map marker to pinpoint him when you get close.

Zidormi is on the North side of the zone, along the path from Un'goro into Silithus. She does have a map icon to help you locate her.

I can confirm that, at least for me, it has a 6 hour timer. I tamed Acroniss at 8pm server time when it spawned and when I went back at 2am it spawned right in front of me again. Since, at the time of this writing, no one has a proper spawn timer on this beauty, just thought I put my two cents in. I play on Lightninghoof so I don't know if the times will be right for all other servers that don't share the zoning with my server. It's a real beauty, I wish everyone wanting to have this one the best of luck in your endeavors!

Spawn timer is definitely around 4 to 6 hours.

Tamed 0:45, server Emerald Dream, EU.
I checked for him in random intervals the whole patch day, but still all the time there was too much hunters around, so I decided to return for the night and camp for him. I came back an hour before midnight then, and was prepared for long time waiting and counted that I´ll maybe only see him spawning and tamed by another hunter. There was 2 others horde hunters there, but one of them disappeared after 15 min and the 2nd one just at the midnight. Lucky me, after another 45 min he finally spawned, so I have now my beautiful new pet AND my beautiful sleep too:-)

Acroniss is the only tameable red arcane wyrm in the game. Serpente di Mana Freneticos are the same colour but aren't attackable or tameable.

There are four colours of arcane serpent in the game, all tameable (as regular Serpents) as of 5.1. See:

Blue: Dragone Arcano
Purple: Serpe Arcana
Red: Acroniss (rare added in 5.1). There's also Serpente di Mana Freneticos but they're not attackable or tameable
White: Spirito del Nord

There are also green and yellow colours in the database, but they're so far unused.

Just got him today at 2:30 PM servertime (Bleeding Hollow)

There was at least 3 server resets during this time frame.

I don't know how long it was before his last capture. But his spawn time had to be more than 5 hours. Might even take 8 hours for all I know.

You WILL freak out when you see him spawn, nothing will prepare you for that. Just make sure your tame beast icon is some place very simple to find or press. Keep at it! Don't log off and come back. Leave it on and watch youtube or something in windowed mode. I saw maybe 12 hunters today trying to get him logging on and off checking every half hour or so. You might get lucky this way, but don't count on it.

Good lord, does anyone else get a huge rush of blood when a rare spawns?

Acroniss is more dead than alive on my server. There's usually 5+ people waiting to tame him and when he spawns someone kills him. Doesn't matter who tags him or who was there first, someone always kills Acroniss rather then let the other hunter tame it. What an annoying mob in CRZ.

Edit: Got myself alone with him earlier and tamed without a hitch. This was after 5 hours of sitting there and seeing no spawn. I would guess he has a 4-6 hour spawn timer. A hunter that sat with me for awhile said he had spawned at 7:30 am and I tamed him around 1:30pm.

Don't give up hope!

I was expecting this one to take me months, but as luck would have it my baby woke me up early and after settling him I decided to log on and take my hunter into the cave.

On the way I spotted Karapax. Karapax was a nice looking fella so I decided to tame him.

The cave was typically devoid of Acroniss but there were also no hunters camping.

I decided to leave the wow window in the background as I submitted the screenshots of 5.1 rares I had come across, the map poking out of the corner so I could see if any beasts (i.e. Acroniss) spawned.

A red dot appeared. I thought that another hunter from the opposing faction must have turned up and that was their pet, but I hoped against hope it might be the red wyrm. I almost squeed!

I admit I was incredibly lucky to get this gorgeous pet, he is definitely my new favourite.

I camped this mob over 3 spawns and the first two where only 3hours appart. missed the first two to other hunters but the last one i got the tame.

I decided to go after this majestic pet for myself. And I sat there and waited for I would say 3 hours or so. There is a dwarf hunter and a few other alliance so me being horde felt outnumbered pet spawns i get my frost trap on it start taming .1 sec away and dwarf rage kills it. So now I am back to waiting for Acroniss to come back from the dead. Note spawns directly in the rune circle so if competing with other hunters put ice trap directly in circle of runes.

This pet makes me slightly sad to be a BM hunter. There's no reason for me to have this pet as BM past the amazing looks of it. I really wish they would make a pink spirit beast, maybe with some sparkles or rainbow accents...a girl can dream can't she? :'(

I decided I wanted to tame one of these new Arcane wyrms and suddenly remembered looking this guy up before 5.1 went live. I couldn't turn down the opportunity of another rare unique skinned pet!
So I fly to Silithus, add Acroniss to npcscan and head over to the spawn point.
(INSERT BLARING NOISE) Amg he was there waiting for me! But I cant see you, oh wait your inside a cave, herpaderp.
Walked into the cave and suddenly realised I had a full party fffffffff. Flew back to Cenarion Hold, ditched a pet and headed back. Fortunately he was still there :3
Only other person in sight was a 57 monk~
Must have been lucky considering what everyone else is saying xD

Edit - Serpente di Mana Frenetico is untameable, therefore making Acroniss the only tameable mob with this skin. In my eyes a rare unique skinned mob.

The spawn timer for me was 2 hours & 40 minutes. At 1:30 am server on sisters of elune someone killed him when he spawned then I got him at 4:10 am.

Just tamed it on Wyrmrest Accord shared server at 4:04am PST. That spawn seemed longer than four hours+ since there was a few of us standing there since 11pm.

Also like to add... please people it is not funny to kill this mob.
If your toon didn't get the first tame beast on it, don't kill it while the other person is trying to tame it. Saw that happen yesterday while I was waiting my turn. Sad.

After camping with multiple other Hunters over the last couple days and seeing others always get the tame... I woke up this Monday morning and decided "...what the heck..."... signed on at 0537 am server time (on ULDAMAN..?crz)... no one was there besides me... and within 4 minutes.. at 0541 am... the beauty spawned right in front of me and I was able to tame him with ease... Good luck to all... just takes time and luck... :)

No other class knows what a battleground this one tiny spot has become these past few days (CRZ+PvP realm = interesting times.) My heart goes out to those who are on the lower populated faction.

I'm only posting here because after seeing so many hunters running around not quite knowing where he spawns I'm here to let you know Acroniss spawns dead smack in the middle of the symbol and dose not move from that spot at all.

Please be mindful as a lvl55 if you are a high lvl and try to flag him the reality is you'e going to kill him (especially those who have 10+ lvls on him) and this also goes for AoE traps. So dust off those hunter smarts and find alternative ways to tame without killing the pet /sagely nods.

Spawners :
3hrs 10mins was the fastest, 6hrs mark was the most common, 12hrs 20mins was the longest. I've seen him spawn 5 times.

Acroniss is very competed for, I suggest using _NPCScan and this macro:

/tar Acroniss
/stopmacro
/cast rapid fire
/cast tame beast

You need to be very quick about taming this pet when other hunters around, otherwise if they see you taming Acroniss they may kill the Serpent. You may also add a haste potion to the macro and you can glyph Glyph of Tame Beast to make your tame beast super fast!

popped up at 12:37pm EST Arygos (CRZ with west-coasters). all the other campers happened to have just left for one reason or another so the quick tame was mine. whew!

I had been there for just over 2 hours, but i don't know when the prior spawn was. other campers were saying roughly 6 hours yesterday

I'll admit I got really lucky with this one. I went on a spree today and caught all four flavors of this pet, and when it came down to Arconiss I was prepared for a few hour wait.

I ran into the cave, hopped up to the spot and found no other hunters, crazy lucky! He spawned for me after about 30 minutes, and right as I finished taming him, a hunter and her friend came running in.

It's a beautiful pet though, and I honestly wish you all luck with taming it!

Confirmed. Got him yesterday immediately after a rolling restart. Luckily my realm was 5 mins ahead of the CRZ. So I had a chance to beat the other two parked there hoping for the same opportunity. Lost out on one the prior day at around 7:45 pm (EST on Terokkar, US). Questing player started fighting it and ignored my pleas to stop so I could tame it.

It's a busy spot. Generally 2-5 hunters either camping or logging in and out. Add in those questing to kill Vyral and it's a challenging taming environment. Good luck to you all. :)

If you're on Mug'thol server/cross realm, I tamed him on 12/26/2012 at 1:05PM.

Well I waited about 45 min for him to appear. Got him and was on my way out and passed 3 other players heading for the spot I just left. They didn't seem to happy seen that I beat them to it. Coolest looking pet I have seen so far.

I had been waiting for a while, and many hunters had come, realized he was not there, and gone. Eventually, there was only a blood elf and me left. We waited and waited, then, suddenly, he appeared! I hit the '1' on my keyboard, where I had set up my macro, and was almost immediately taming the beast. I had gotten it, I was sure of it. Then, I saw it's health drop. And then drop again. It was dead.

As a human, I could not speak to the blood elf, so I gave them a /glare, and they apologized a couple times. Not that they were actually sorry, otherwise they wouldn't have done it in the first place.

My first thought was, "Man, when it respawns, I'm going to let them get to the tame first so that I can kill it and show them how it feels." Then I realized that was stupid, and I do not need to stoop to their level. When it respawns, I am going to try just as hard to make sure I get it, and, if I don't, I will not kill it for whoever does.

Im so upset right now. I had waited for 4 hours for this guy to spawn. Constantly checking the screen every few minutes. He finally spawns then all of a sudden a flippin panda and a retarted shamman wolf thingy barge in and are like " Oh sorry we needed to kill it for a ring" This was after I said I had waited for hours for him, they only reply back saying "Lol." -_-

I tamed this pretty boy on the summoning circle in twilight's run. I started camping around 0400 server on Spirestone, at 0530ish I went to shower and when I came back he was there waiting for me.

As noted, ignore that the map shows him in Hive Regal.

Arcroniss is NOT at the Hive Regal tunnels. You can search for hours and will not find him. He is in a cave at the base of STAGHELM POINT. When i got into the cave - Twilight Run - he is at the back with Valker (or something). There is a pattern on the ground and that is where he appears. When i got there a hunter had just killed him but i really wanted him so i sat it out. He respawned in FOUR hours. Average is 4 - 6. Good luck to you all. The area (i think) is about 57.

GOD WANTED ME TO HAVE THIS WYRM.

Okay, maybe not, but it sure as heck FEELS like it :D

So I first met with limited success on my 55 hunter- I actually dinged INSIDE the cave, wanted it asap- when I got there at 11:30ish pst. Logged after about an hour- from what I heard some shammy had killed it about an hour prior to my getting there D:

Set my alarm for 0500. There was an 88 hunter, so I discreetly dropped some hints- "oh yeah, I heard he was killed about seven and a half hours ago, six hour spawn time, you do the math, sucks to be you bro ;)))) )

He logged :)

I waited for an hour, until 0600, when my SECOND alarm went off to keep me awake. I decided to screw it.. too freakin tired... went to bed...

fifteen minutes later my snooze went off. I had rolled over, pissed, ignoring it, when my OCD-ass mind decided I really had no reason NOT to check, and voila, there's my wyrm, 0615 pst :)

EDIT: I wrote this seconds after I finished taming him, in which time another hunter appeared and asked if I had just tamed him. Poor bastard, but my farming paid off :D

Saw him my first time trying at 8:01am local time (10:01am server time) on Smolderthorn. Except I had just finished fighting off a hordie and my Stampede crew was out, and they killed him before I even knew he was there. I sat there staring at the body in disbelief until it disappeared. :'(

I've checked back at 9am local, 12am, 1pm, 2pm (the 6-hour mark), and 3pm with no luck. No idea what his actual spawn time is. I guess I'll try again tomorrow morning.

Tamed at 2:02 PM on Exodar (EST). As it was tuesday, I sat my hunter down beside the summoning circle before the maintenance happened (8:00 AM EST) hoping to log on right after reset, which was estimated to g for 6 hours. An hour before it was scheduled to come back on, I attempted to log on and it turns out, the server was already up.

Sat for about another hour before he spawned. In that time a total of 4 other hunters passed by to check, along with the usual variety of leveling toons. Most hunters, when they see another hunter already there, won't really bother to wait any longer. One horder hunter (I'm Ally), decided to mess around, throwing all his traps into the circle in a show of gamesmanship -- didn't take the bite and just sat there until he eventually left. At 2pm, another hunter, this time Alliance as well, showed up and sat around.

Acroniss spawned within 5 minutes of the other hunter showing up. Any fears I had of a steal or a kill were unfounded as he waited until I had tamed, and then even congratulated me on the tame before logging off.

Good karma for him hopefully, and good luck to all still waiting on him. It's much better to respect the queue -- not only is it the decent thing to do, but it eliminates competition later on.

Tamed at around 2:50am server time on Dawnbringer! When I arrived at around 12am he wasn't there so I decided to park my alt hunter down and wait it out - at least two hunters came by (both level 90) however they logged off after a few minutes, I guess they didn't want a confrontation! Though I was listening to some music when he just pops up and I almost jumped out of my seat! I aggro two other mobs but since I'm a bit higher level (58 to their 55) I manage to outlast them long enough to tame him!

He is a beautiful and breathtaking pet! Good luck to everyone who wants him! And please also be considerate of other hunters who are already waiting!

Just tamed this guy after an hour of camping on Dragonblight ( 6:00 realm time ). No one stepped foot in the cave, well except for Belf, but he looked like he was just questing.

I would like to point out that before I figured out where he actually spawned, I walked around all of the Hive, killing everything in sight, because of the stupid pins on the map. :/ Waste of time.

Anyway, I'm so glad to have him. Funny thing is, as I was staring at the screen my eyes started getting heavy. I've been up all night and I was ready to pass out. I got in bed and closed my eyes for perhaps 20 seconds. When I opened them, he was in his spawn. I nearly flipped off the bed. As I started taming him, Vyral the Vile aggroed, so I freaked out thinking that he would screw me over, but luckily his attacks missed.

So now I have this lovely boy. I'm off to collect the other three. :D

Was in the cave, alone, when an Orc showed up. He was level 55 and I'm 90. We sat there a while, until a blood elf showed. Remembering what it's like to tame a really rare rare, I suggested to the belf (also LDL 90) we split and leave it for the Orc. No reply. Only thing she did was stand in front of me, so I wished the Orc the best of luck and hearthed. When did the horde decide to act like the alliance?

omg! I'm feeling kinda lucky now. I work nights and just woke up after being asleep for about 4 hours. I had logged my hunter off at this rare's spawn point in the back of the cave beside Vyral the Vile and was about to go back to bed, but something told me to at least log on and see if he was there. I log on and he wasn't there, but another hunter from another server was there waiting. I decided to log and was logging off when he spawned. I cancelled the log off, then waited for 5 seconds for the other hunter to tame him. When he didn't, I tamed him. I gave the other hunter his chance and when he didn't take it, I did. I didn't want another hunter to appear and tame him. That was at 8:40 am server time on 2/13/13 on Darrowmere server. Now back to bed, but I'm definitely buying a lottery ticket today. Powerball is up to $50 million and I'm feeling lucky. lol

P.S. - All hunters need to beg Blizzard for more stable space. They keep releasing all these new pets, especially rare ones, but don't give us any more stable space. We need at least another full page of space if not two. If all hunters unite and telling Blizzard this, hopefully we can get them to add it for patch 5.2. We can only hope.

I waited for this pet to spawn for 3 solid hours. Had a good time talking with alot of people that came through, mostly for the quest spawn there. Finally on a whim I logged out and logged back in and there he was right in front of me. Tamed him no problem. No one else was in line the entire time. This appearance occurred at 9:17 PM MST on Shadowmoon.

Been sitting here now for about 40 min. Not one hunter has come in here. There is a panda monk that is a bot that keeps killing the Twilight cultist mobs and I met some really friendly druids doing the quest here as well as an apposing faction Warrior that was here for the quest, but other then that, it has been quite.

Knowing my luck, I will see it spawn and three or four hunters will show up and one will beat me to it, lol. We shall see. I will edit this to let you all know what happens.

Tamed this beauty my first attempt. I figured I would add him to my collection when I was bored one day. Flew out to Silithus around around 4pm or so, and was around for about 2 hours. I want to say I can confirm the spawn rate of 2 to 2 and a half hours.

Had a friend tip me off that he'd just been killed, and 2 hours later or so, he spawned on the circle in the twilight cavern-- which has been confirmed the only true spawn point for it despite the mass of dots on the lower portion of the map.

Said friend logged in two and a half hours after I had tamed it, and sure enough, it spawned again.

I suggest you get the glyph of tame beast, cutting off four seconds on your channel. Set a frost trap in the dead center of the circle and wait for it to spawn.

Since this is such a highly populated area (especially so now that realms cross), you want to be as quick as you can. Unfortunately this beast shares a close spawn point with a quest mob with a 5 minute respawn timer. This means whoever kills him, the next people who come in usually loiter around for a few minutes, and if they feel like killing it while you try to tame it, well... You're SOL.

Good luck to all you out there. I'd say this is one of the easiest rares I've ever tamed for such the short and pretty solid spawn timer.

Tamed at 7:55pm on Kirin Tor. He was in the back of the cave by Staghelm Point(cave's name is Twilight's Run). Coor: 59,85. I just ran through, killed everything on my way and he was sitting there. Saw no other players.

I can't give a spawn timer but I found and tamed him at 12:54 a.m on Kaelcgos. I was there for maybe an hour, I believe.

Edit: That was 12:54 a.m my time, server time would have made it about 9:54 p.m since I'm three hours a head of the server time.

I treasure this pet because she was my first amazing pet before I tamed my first spirit beast, Gondria.
I remember camping FOREVER and finally after coming back from school I logged on and she spawned in front of me and my heart pounded like never before.
I used her, and only her, as my main pet for months.

I got mine at 12:00AM EST Thrall Server... two things I noted, First is that the cave is instanced meaning you share it with people from other servers... I saw people from galakrond in the cave waiting on the spawn. Second the respawn timer may have changed in the new patch - At 10PM EST I saw someone just taming the acroniss spawn just as i reached the spot. I tamed at 12.. respawn timer seems to be 2 hours now...

not sure about spawn timer.

however, I can tell you that one possible method is to park your toon right next to where acroniss spawns. log in, if not there, log out. queue for warsong gulch, queue for dungeons, be prepared to either take a number or get ganked waiting on the spawn.

I was ganked....many, many times. I waited, and waited. so much wasted time....

Actual helpful information that you won't find until 71 comments later...Cave entrance 70, 16 northeast corner of Silithus. Spawn rates...well, i am not going to stand here waiting in between kill/tame times to give a factual spawn rate. Read the following 71 comments for uneducated guesses and people squealing with joy that they tamed the beast. Summoning circle where he spawns is at the back of the cave.

Still waitng on the spawn point by the design in the floor. been waiting for 2.5 hours. will give an update on the time i waited to tame. so far ive been the only one to show interest. ive helped those on quests that come by and even pass the word to lower level hunters about the rare spawn there. once i tame ill do a screen shot as well. Caught today.

I saw spawn times between 2 and 3.5 hours.

This was a tough one, high traffic area and between hunters wanting to tame and people killing it when questing.

I started early in the morning, 7:30, waited 2 full hours and watched it die in front of me. Have your track humanoids on and any people of your faction questing entering the cave alert them to not kill the red snake if it spawns.

It died at 9:38, and when I returned at noon someone had just killed it.

Returned at 2 but it didn't spawn til about 3:20.

Alright, spawned for me after 6 hours and 15 minutes hours. Forget the points in Hive Regal, I'm not sure why they are up there. He only spawns right on top of a silver summoning circle in the very back of a cave in twilight run. Right next to Vyral il Vile Normal Spawn is between 4-6 hours.
This area is terrible and has a lot of griefers. Expect a huge amount of traffic as Vyral il Vile is part of a quest line and has a ridiculously long spawn time.
What was interesting for me is that while I was camping, he spawned, and the Tauren waiting next to me (Cross-realm mind you) was slow on the draw and kited him away in spite, ruining my tame.
Okay buddy, you want to tango? Let's meet again 6 hours from now.

I woke up at 6am and waited a grand total of 5 minutes and he spawned. I was the only one around so I got him.

A very cool-looking serpent and worth the wait, just be careful about the traffic.

Being paranoid about people stealing him, I tamed immediately and pulled Vyral with him. Acroniss was very close to dying when he was tamed. Idk if that's because I pulled Vyral or I was level 90 or not. Just try to tame without pulling any of the other NPCs near him. There is a rock at the back of the cave you can stand on to pull without NPC interference.

Just went into the cave and found its dead body.. with no one around. That's my luck.

I decided to wait it out since it was really late at night. 3 hours, 37 minutes later it FINALLY spawned at 4:55am and there was a lowbie fighting a mob a few feet away.. so glad he didn't aggro it. Tamed it asap :)

Just had some bad luck with this one. Waited 4 hours for it ta respawn after a worgen chick tamed it. .... was chatting with a worgen Hunter, who came ta do the quest there. Acroniss spawned so suddenly, the guy freaked n killed it before i could do or say anything. n ta top it off, i couldnt tame it coz my pet waz out after a duel with a horde rouge. tried ta hit tame in all the confusion, n my pet goes n helps speed up the mess. ...... Just sayin dat if u camp n make small talk with random guyz, let em knw why u r there, or u'll be waitin fr another 4 hours. ...... im still feelin a bit sad about it :(

I also waited about 5 hours (+/-) for him to spawn. I tamed Acroniss at around 12:15pm (7/16/13) after a restart at 7:00am, "with every realm being affected for no longer than 15 minutes."

The serpent pawned on the summoning circle near Vyral the Vile at the back of Twilight's Run (cave) in Northern Silithus. I sat down in my chair from grabbing a juice and saw him on my screen, said "ooooh, my snake," then grabbed my mouse and started taming him.

I realized he was elite and coming in to melee/bite me but the damage didn't hurt me enough to kill me (actually, a total of three melee strikes of 260, 297, and 256 physical damage) at level 55 (my hp is 6,109, so no real harm done). I tamed him easily within the allotted tame channeling period without any cc such as freezing trap needed. I might have been angry if the story ended differently, considering how much time I had already waited.

On a side note regarding respawn time: My hunter only tames snakes so this one was important to me, and important enough to enter the cave and look for him before the 7:00 am restart time, at only level 54. I knew I couldn't tame Acroniss at level 54, since he is level 55.

As I entered the cave, a worgen hunter had apparently tamed him, I assume. He was running away from Acroniss's spawn point with a similar red model named "Serpent," so I'm guessing he had just finished taming the serpent as I entered, possibly an hour before 7:00 a.m. server time. (I only mention this because I'm not sure how the restart calculates into respawn. For instance, was it 5 hours from the restart or did it take approximately 6 hours from the original tame, then restart, to the respawn?)

Either way, my conclusion is around 5-6 hours respawn. I only know that I waited the five hours.

To all fellow Hunters - if you want to go on a 'Great Rare Hunting' here is a hint which will help you finding them without even camping for them: All you should do is wake up very early in a morning (at about 5 to 6 a.m) and start looking for whatever you want, usually even the Cross-Realm is not a problem then, because not many people even want to wake up that early. I never camped for any rare beast, even the Spirit Beasts. My key to win is just looking for them in an early morning. That's all. I got my own Acroniss today at 5:38 a.m.

I sat in that room killing the regular mobs when they spawned along with talking to another hunter and her protection against the other faction. I waited for the mob with them with hopes to be the first to hit tame but it never spawned. After a while of talking to the other hunter and her friend (they where awesome, but an hour is too long for me) I logged off until about 6 hours later to be greeted by the same players who sat there the whole time taking an hour break.(Hardcore camping). The next morning there was the pet with no other mobs in the room but I had my finger on tame before I logged on and got the pet!(If the other hunter was there it would be hers because she put the work into it so she would have deserved it). It takes more then 4 hours for sure and the room contains a mob that is required to complete a quest, which means that you should not kill the quest mob because it takes up to ten minutes to re-spawn and you have a bunch of level 50's standing in a room waiting for it to re-spawn who are potential dangers to your pet! The other faction is much easier to get rid of if there 50 but beware hunters of the other faction! Use your tracker and your stealth, and prepare to wait 6 hours just to find that a quest-er of your faction kills it! Happy hunting!

Tamed Acroniss at approxiamately 2:15pm local time, 3:15pm realm time on Stormrage (EU). This was my third sighting of him as the first time there was already a belf hunter who had been camping him and second I had just got there when another troll hunter came, lvl55 and also waited when 5 minutes later he spawned and the troll was quicker to the pet than I was as I already had 5 pets and would've needed to abandon one, however I wasn't annoyed or anything because the hunter did say thanks.

Now third time today I waited about half hour maybe less and today I had my guild friend with me and another lvl55 ally pandaren came but assured us they were there for the quest not the pet. When Acroniss spawned they were kind enough to tell me he had as I wasn't looking rather than taming him for themselves which I am really thankful for :)

3 days I waited for this pet probably less than 4 hours of waiting, I would go a certain time following a 4-6 hour timer which he did not spawn and I found that he spawned 2/3 times between 2pm and 3pm, local UK time.

Good luck to those taming this pet, I found it rather easy just visiting a couple of times a day and have seen him 3 times but maybe that was just luck. :))

As beautiful she is (and with killer sound effects to boot), it's important to note that this pet will look rather strange as she walks, and her tail will more often than not clip into the ground. Just one of those sets of animations and rigging that doesn't translate well to a smaller size, nor such close proximity to the ground.

Just tamed this guy on Blackwater Raiders at the back of the cave shown went there and another player was also there so I was gonna be nice and let them have it. I tabbed out to check something when all of a sudden heard a noise came back to see him attacking me and the other player still standing there. I did what anyone else would have done and tamed it the other player didn't even move the whole time. Guess when taming you gotta be quick on the draw...

at zenedar 17pm i was just heading to his cave amazingly i found him alive... but i ended up to agro some other mob while running there.... and i hitted it once with cobra shot (not the serpent but that gnome who was hitting me, "there my tier procs and spawns dragonhawk... and there it one shots the gnome and the serpent.. now im sitting and waiting it to spawn again... just my luck

Tamed this pet around 2:26 server time on Kil jaeden. I'm not totally sure when he spawned but i do know he wasn't up 30 minutes prior. Was camping him and left to swap pets for monkey runs and upon return during a break not to long later he was there. I ended up having to do a run while he was up, and god knows that I was only hoping nobody would kill him and after the run he was still there.

As I put in my screen shot, I tamed Acroniss at 10am server time on Lightbringer.

After reading most of these posts, I can verify that the location in Staghelm Point is correct, but I only stayed there long enough to tame him once, so I can't say as to the spawn time. I killed my way to the enchanted circle and sat there for roughly 1 hour and 45 minutes, so I would say the 2 to 2 1/2 hour spawn time some have mentioned is possible, but I may have gotten lucky, so that certainly isn't carved in stone.

For me, the spawn timer was about 3 1/2 hours. I went into the cave at about 4:00 AM, and was insanely thrilled to see him actually up, and started taming. Then...a gnome came along and pulled him off me with like a second left on the tame bar and killed him in front of me. I nearly cried. And then I checked Toxx and watched him die, despite begging the person not to kill him. And then I swore alot and went to bed. But, I woke up after a few hours for some reason and decided to just check. He wasn't there, so I checked Toxx and Bornix, who were both up, and came back. I tamed them and went back to the cave. And there he was. It was about 7:30 AM.

**First spawn time I waited about 5 hours and saw her spawn, second spawn time was just under 4 hours (3 hours and 54 minutes) and last and final spawn I saw was 2 hours and 24 minutes) - these were back to back spawns - whole story below**

After seeing this pretty Wyrm on Petopia I knew I had to have her. And I really figured the camp wouldn't be too bad...I mean who quests anymore? And how many hunters could really be camping for her this long from her release? If I'd only known how wrong I was...

The first night I went to look for her I found another hunter already camping, so I asked them to please let me know when/if they tamed and what time so I'd know when to head back. It was about 1am server when they tamed her and I decided to check back about 6 the next morning only I woke up with a nice case of the flu. So a few days went by and I decide to check again.

There was already a hunter of opposing faction camping so I logged for a few hours and when I came back there was no one around. I decided to go ahead and wait it out and see what happened. I waited close to 5 hours before watching her spawn (12:55am server) in front of a crowd of 50-somethings running through the cave questing and while I'm trying to tame Acroniss a lock goes ahead and straight up murders her. My heart dropped. So I'm thinking another 4-6 hours of this and I'm golden.

Once in a while another hunter will log in and then leave again after 20 or so minutes. I kept checking the computer regularly for the spawn. For whatever reason I was convinced she wouldn't spawn until at least the 4 hour mark, so I made myself wait an extra 5 minutes before coming back to the computer...to find my toon dead and another hunter hearthing out with her by his side.

He was kind enough to tell me he tried to wait for me to come back from being AFK so I could tame her since I had been there all night, but when Acroniss killed me he went for it (as I would have done) and let me know the tame time (4:05 am server).

At this point I figure this is just not meant to be, so I go to finish a movie I had started earlier and figure I'll back around 7-8am.

For whatever reason my gut was telling to check sooner, so I logged in about 6:10am and thought I'd sit for a little while. At 6:29am server Acroniss became mine!

So for those of you out there camping this special wyrm I'd advise you to go with a 2 and a half hour mark as first possible spawn time (if you have a reference), and hang in there if she takes longer. So WORTH it! The camp times and competition are nothing like they were when this mob was first releases (phew!) but it is still quite the challenge! Best of luck to anyone still looking to get her :D

For all the people begging non-hunters not to kill this mob: It would be nice if she spawned somewhere less traveled, but I don't think there'd be as much pride in finally attaining her. In order for the questers to get to Vyral they will have to take Acroniss down too since they are so close to each other. And if any lowbies are anywhere near her when she spawns she will aggro onto them. So unless we're talking higher levels who just come to kill her for the fun of seeing hunters cry, this pet is just not in a good place to not get ganked every time she's up (unless you're super lucky to tame her first).

Also, though I cannot completely confirm, I had logged out once between seeing Acroniss murdered and then tamed by the other hunter, and also watched the same hunters from different realms log in and out multiple times looking for her as well so I would say it's safe to log out and not worry about being transferred to a different "realm shard" or whatever was mentioned by a previous poster. Unless we were just incredibly lucky to be logged into the same realm for that zone multiple times.

Yes, Acroniss is in Twilight's Run. Which is nowhere near Hive'Regal. Don't bother searching in there, he spawns on/near the symbol on the ground where Vyral the Vile spawns. I'm really not sure why so many coords in Hive'Regal are marked here, but don't bother going there.

Disregard the Hive Regal Pins. Acroniss is in the Twilight Run Cave. (entrance at 69,16)

Now as to the Hive Regal Pins:

Twilights Run has it's own map, which Wowhead does not recognize when locating pins. While in Twilights Run wowhead still thinks your in Silithus. When the Twilights Run map is overlayed with the Silithus map, Acroniss' spawn point in Twilights Run appears to Wowhead as if he's spawning in Hive Regal. He does not.

Just tamed on Shadow Council at 11:07PM server time. I was in the area for about 30 minutes before it spawned and there was no one around since we are now a lower populated server and there are "cooler" pets in Pandaria.

While i sat there waiting for Acroniss to spawn, a horde panda was also waiting there for a quest mob to show up. I was surprised to see Acroniss spawn when i was then horrified immediately after when the Panda begin to attack him. i spammed a bunch of panicked letters in chat in hopes that he would realize i'm trying to tame the mob, and fortunately, he did. He ran away and let me tame it. I'm so glad there are generous people like this in WoW. Thank you kind stranger!

Acroniss is found in the Twilight tunnel, towards the back near Vyral. I was on at 11am (10am backhand server time) Acroniss spawned. I was taming it when a stupid alliance warrior came and killed her while I was taming. I sat there and periodically checked back to see if she spawned again. She spawned again at 2:24pm (1:24pm blackhand server time). So It seems she can spawn at least every 3 hours. I have read that she can spawn anywhere between 3-6 hours. Good luck to all the hunters trying to tame her.

Acroniss spawned at 5:05pm servertime on Mal'Ganis - US. I found him dead at 1:04pm servertime which put his spawn timer at 4 hours for me.

Just captured on US Thrall @ 1252AM. There was an a-hole 90 Alliance Rogue going around killing all the mobs and I was afraid he would get it before I got to tame it, but I guess he was on the other side of the cave by the time it spawned. Looks amazing too btw.. Hope you guys have the same luck when looking for it. Waited 40 mins before it spawned but I've waited up to 2 1/2 hours before for it. Good luck!

I almost gave up hope trying to get him tamed, however today was the day! The previous posts mention camping on the table and logging in and checking every once in awhile. That is exactly what I did, logged in and he was right in front of me. Good luck!

For your information, NPC Scan does work for this guy. If you stand right in front of that pattern on the ground and wait for him, the scan notification sounds once he has spawned again. Happy hunting!

Tamed today at 5:20 p.m. realm time Fenris. Spawn timer was 3 hours and 20 minutes exactly.

Fun time too, since I just decided to slide on over to Silithus and get some classwork done and camp Acroniss. Waltz into the cave, and to my surprise, there he was spawning right in front of me not seconds later - could not believe my luck.

But.

As luck would have it, some goblin with a terrible sense of humor - who either has it out for hunters, night elves, both, or is just an awful person - tagged and killed it since I was too startled to think about tagging it with a trap. It was so sudden, one second I'm taming and the next this goblin is killing it and every time I press tame beast it's interrupted. Glyph of Tame Beast could not even save me.

Yelling "TURN ON PVP A**HOLE" as I chased them out of the cave really didn't help since, they couldn't understand nor do I think they would what with my good 25 levels on the evil goblin. I walk back in the cave, dejected and fuming, vowing to kill any goblin that comes in with PVP on for revenge.

I get out my original plan of schoolwork, shifting to shadowmeld and (cause why not?) /dance -ing while I resign myself to the notoriously long camp.

Along the way, I happened to meet a very friendly female goblin, who even danced with me while I used my Orb of the Sin'dorei (in various states of undress) and saluted my spirit beast who I currently had out. A few blood elves stumbled in as well, one death knight woman decided to flirt with me, I sent back a wink. A hunter who looked like he wanted to camp came in and saw me and my kitty, saluted, and walked out. Honestly, only the horde toons who came in to camp Vyral were nice to me, to be honest. The alliance fellows just walked in and out curt as can be.

3 hours and 20 minutes later, someone hasn't come in for a good long while for Vyral. I'm now dancing on the very small table, sighing since I'm too antsy to do more schoolwork when - voila! Acroniss before my eyes much earlier than expected. With no one else around, I said goodbye to Adaris back into my stable and Claimed Acroniss for my own (now named Selin).

This is a very beautiful pet, and the way it glides by you all stretched out is so entrancing. Definitely worth the wait and the fiasco to add to my collection.

Tamed at around 1:20 AM on Gnomer (realm time). I have been camping the spot for about 5 hours, left to go check Toxx, and came back to see that he had spawned. Another hunter showed up about five seconds after I tamed him. He probably wasn't that happy, but I honestly didn't care.

And then I went straight to the Burning Steppes and tamed Sunwing. :P

I made a good decision. I went and tamed the blue version of this pet on my hunter and thought What if the rare was up?

So I hearthed to dal, took the portal to caverns of time and flew to rhe cave where this spawned at. As I looked around for the spot, I saw it out of the corner of my eye and went nuts. (I was streaming at the same time. ;) ).

After I tamed him, 2 other hunters (who also wanted the tame) and a druid (who wanted the loot) showed up and were pretty disappointed.

Just tamed this beautiful guy on Whisperwind. Waited about an hour and the only person around was someone questing who came and went after fighting Vyral. I didn't realize how big he was 'in the wild' so gorgeous. I've seen hunters with him in my order hall and had to find him. Happy I did. Happy hunting everyone~

Vyral does aggro when you tame, or at least he did for me, but if you are higher level, he's not a problem. :)

Just tamed him. Nice lookin pet. Heads up, don't pull a idiot hunter like me. Been standing there for two hours, adds didn't budge. The rare spawned, I started to tame, all of the adds in the room went full on blowed up crack-head and kamikazed on me. Me, got boomstick, started blasting. Yeah, that bought me another 3.5 hours penalty camping. If you see him, kill all the close adds first uno-a-uno nice and slow. Take your time and don't wig out like I did. Snuff all the close adds, commence the tame. Oh, and for 7.3.5 you have to go to the NPC at 79.0 22.0 (column of light) and reset Silithus to the old realm to see the cave opening at 70.0 16.5 to access the cave.

Petopia has him listed as a 55 but when I ran my 55 over there, he is showing as a 57. Went to tame at 57 and he magically jumped to 58 (was able to tame though).

Best thing to do turn on WM then back time so the cave is there and it'll most likely be there no ones ever going in that cave for old out of the way lev 30 stuff. A side note this serpent REALLY needs its movement updated since it flies it needs to move more like dragon serpents not ground snake serpents.
