Will be tameable in WotlK with the 51 point BM talent. Also my favorite model concerning the worms as it will give a desert feel in an otherwise cold and bleak enviorment.

I've been looking for this bug for ages now. I leave my char there and disconnect, only to reconnect a while later. I've being doing this for several days now, using my "/target Grubthor" macro and still nothing.

For those of you trying to find Grubthor, I tell you, it's just not worth it.

I been looking for him on Moon Guard for awhile, haven't seen him. I did get him on the PTR though before 3.0, so I'm guessing it's just bad timing. For those who get it, I'm going to name him SpinySpipi when I do get him.

According to the official WoW Atlas, Grubthor is a "semi-rare", putting his respawn timer at around 8 to 10 hours. Compare this to the other rarespawn that shares the same model as this one, the Oozeworm, which is classified as "very rare" with a 48 hour respawn timer.

As from today this lil' buggah is in my company for a veeeeery long time. Got alot of whispers and looks when I went to Orgrimmar ;) I got him at 1 pm local server time at 48.2, 66.9

Just decided twenty minutes ago to get rid of my rhino and get a worm. Went to Silithus to tame this guy. Found him on my first run through. Envy me, hate me, I don't care.

Found and tamed him at 2:30 p.m. server time on Windrunner by the Horde camp. It was the fifth time I had revisited Silithus to check on his spawn in the last twenty-four hours.

Caught him about 4 A.M. server time just north of Brozebeard Encampment. This is going to be a fantastic pet once Thunderstomp is available, and I'm glad I got it before everyone else realizes :)

Got him at 9:36am on Bloodhoof! He was at the spot closest to Ahn Quiraj, chilling out with some scorpids and spiders. For the record, untamed it is the LARGE version, so it is easy to spot from a distance if you have your clipping set out.

It's a good thing no one ever goes to Silithus anymore, makes it that much more likely that you'll find this rare without having to camp it.

Hit 60, trained, etc. and went to Silithus. Found it fairly easily as I am sure the zone hasn't been touched by anyone in forever.

What makes the yellowish-orange worm skin so appealing is the fact only Grubthor and Oozeworm have it, and both are rares.

Found and tamed him at 35,70. Roughly halfway between the Horde and Alliance camps.

Finally found him this morning, but got a message that he is untameable. Beast Lore said tameable, I'm 2 levels higher than Grubthor and had an empty slot. My only conclusion is that he's no longer tameable sine 4.0.1...very frustrating.

Best idea if you want to tame him, go at a wee hour of the morning, to lessen your chance that someone killed him recently from just questing, or a fellow hunter. I found him at around 4:10am, just east of the Horde Outpost. He is such a vibrant color, it stood out even over the tacking and the macro. I love him!

Actually the map doesnt show it, and I dont know how to get it to show it, but I found it under:

Look under the crystal on the minimap that is UNDER "bones of grakkarond"
Right where that crystal is to the south he was up there, quite far north of where wow head says.

I can confirm seeing him at the lower left too.

Been looking for Oozeworm and this guy for about a month now. No sign of either one of them. Hopefully one will show up soon. The name for when I tate him? Don't know yet!

edit- About 10 minutes after posting this I found Grubthor! I dismounted and started to tame until I realized that my turtle Pyroclastic was out and killed him >.< I now feel crushed and is going to camp Oozeworm... If it still spawns D;

Found/Tamed at approx. 9:30 AM.

Simply decided to go look for him this morning in Silithus using a macro:

/target Grubthor

Anyways...It appears his Burrow Attack is bugged. When cast the entire pet bar turns grey and he drops his aggro...allowing the mob to come after me. Once the 8 sec cast is up, he returns to combat. During the cast he also just stands on top of the ground.
Any ideas...suggestions?

Yes, I'm lvl 85 with a tp in Beast Mastery.

~~Does he have to be level 85 to use his Burrow Attack?~~

Additional note: If you send this pet in, cast Burrow Attack, and Feign Death...the mob will reset....that's how little aggro this attack has.

I was going through my stables to abandon some pets for other ones, when I got to this one. Oddly, when I summoned it, there was a floating icon over the model - similar to the Dal Int buff. Checked his buffs, nothing unusual on him. Asked a couple guildies to check him, confirmed. Asked a couple random people, confirmed again. Relogged, and then relogged after a server reset.

EVERY time, he comes out with the buff display hovering over his head. Curious as to why/if others are having this with him as well. Definitely keeping him due to that alone.

Found it on the earthen ring server, between AQ and Hive Zora. Time was 12:20pm Atlantic Time (11:30am Eastern).

Figured it would be easier because oozeworm has a pretty long spawn timer as well as lack of traffic in silithus :p

It is a beauty, no doubt about it.

Grubthor and Verme Viscido are also the only worms with green eyes.. bright, piercing ones at that. That might be why they this pet gets noticed by others so much.

i've had this Golden Worm sence before Wrath came out, awesome pet to have. Abilities have changed over the years slightly, but still a nice tanking pet

Just tamed him at 7:15 realm time in Quel'Dorei using the macro /target Grubthor .... I've used it to tame a lot of pets lately. Mostly Silithids and Devilsaur. It helps ALOT!
