Honestly, it looks like how one actually runs! Looks like it's about to mess you up. GG Blizz!
I'm really going to miss the old bear animations. But if they needed to change them to suit the Zandalari "bears" or whatever, these ones will grow on me, I suppose.
AHHAHAHAHA I've been desperately hoping for this sort of fix since the day we got our first model revision. No more elbow-walking, rump-three-sizes-too-big models! I can finally stop pining after Vanilla druid bear's skeleton! And the fact that we're getting newer, more intimidating animations is just icing on the cake! /happy-bear-dance(<-- bear main since Vanilla)/more-happy-bear-dance
I have for a long time found the current bear way too extreme in its idle/breathing animation, and the run too clumsy.. So I am a very happy supporter of these new animations! Could do with a tad more tweaking, but still better than the old one, even if it'll take some time to get used to it.
live looks better - as in the run animation and such. just remove the class blizzard if you hate it that much.
A bit more Bearish, but I'd still like to see the shoulder area bigger/higher.
Now then, the rig-update is nice, I like the standing-in-one-place pose and the walk a lot, those are indeed good, but the running animation is a piece of garbage. EDIT: I give up, I just can't link it in in a way that it would work, damn it... either way, my point stands, the limbs positioning in the new running animation is off.
Really really, Horrible, not impressed.I am wondering, do they even try to do something nice and good ?
Still no emote support for mage tower skin?
Hmm, not sure I like these or not. The bear looks smaller and the animation just seems a bit weird to me, maybe because they are new. From the Arial view, the new ones look a bit better, but the close up is just odd. The idle animation also looks really off, it looks like its about to trip over its own paws, to me, it stands more like a turtle or something now..All and all I will adapt, but the stance just looks really weird. Reminds me of a turtle. And the bear itself looks smaller which I am not a huge fan off. I think they could increased the model size a bit more. But this is still Alpha, so maybe more work will be done to it.
Anybody saying they preferred the old version doesn't understand how bears move. It was NOTHING like a bear, which is why they used the bear animations on raccoons and weasels for crying out loud.
Think I can manage the changes.... but now that we've touched on some sort of bear animations, how about some additions/ tweaks to the mage tower appearance for bear hmmmmm? Still so many missing after all this time and gotta say it'd add so much flair for that form. Not gonna hold my breath but at least something to consider!

i'll always miss my gaping, mouth-breathing vanilla bear form, but i've always hated how weird and slouched over the bear mounts were, so i'm happy with the compromise. however, even though it's more anatomically correct, it somehow looks a little less like a bear? maybe because bears have necks and WoW bears......don't, for some reason.
I like the raised posture, but the running looks kinda ape-like to me somehow...
I'm saddened by the prospect of this new bear model. I think the old one has a lot more character. This new one is stiff and has too wide a stance to seem bearlike. Bears may not lumber all that much when they walk, but they absolutely do when they run. They're huge! It's hard to move all that weight. This is also why bears have large hind quarters. It looks like it will be harder for new bear (with his equally sized front and back) to stand on his hind legs than old bear (with a larger, sturdier bottom). In fact, I think this shows in the new bear dance which seems really top heavy to me.It is these un-bearlike changes that make me think there is merit in the idea that this is being done for the Zandalari druids. Maybe they can have this model to themselves?
Eh, overall a step backwards, except for the running animation this looks pretty bad. The problem with it is the bears look flabby and slow. If you want it to look "more realistic" you need to fix your unrealistically designed bear first. Otherwise these changes are pointless from an aesthetic point of view.
Finally!
Much better!Straightened back, longer front legs and a roar that looks like a roar rather than an eldritch horror is trying to climb out of it's throat.I'm no druid, but my animal loving guildies are certainly happy about this!
