WW monks already had most of their abilities scaled from AP; this caused lots of complaints, because with rising ilvl their damage was getting behind other classes. Looks like this problem will go away in BfA, because all other classes will get the same scaling.
This post was from a user who has deleted their account.
Weapons have a damage range which gave some variability (Blizz doens't like deterministic systems). Does this mean that all strikes/abilities will be the same value ( aside from procs, crits, temp buffs etc)?
So, Aimed Shot will do 0 damage?
In my opinion when it comes to 2 stats like intellect and spell power, I think that should be only one stat.Ex:Intellect: the more you have, more damage/healing you do and more mana pool you have.orspell power: the more you have, more damage/healing you do and more mana pool you have.I think that should be used only one of these two stats, it's a much more easier to understand.Sorry for my bad english grammar.
Wouldn't this change go a long way towards fixing the DW vs 2H balancing issues that sometimes cropped up in the past? For example, although it was never intended to be viable some players (including myself) would DW tank in DK Blood spec back in Cata, with the considerable downside that abilities only used main hand damage and thus DPS (and threat gen) took a nose dive when not using a 2H, but with this change DPS would likely have been much closer. While I don't think they'll bring DW back to Blood spec, this would certainly help with balancing DW and 2H variations of Frost DK, as well as Survival Hunter.
so they are just doing it the way monk has been forever to everyone else now...
Man, this is nice. As a Ret Pally, I am rejoicing. I remember when I would just never get an upgrade on a weapon for long long periods during expansions and be doing %^&*e DPS... this, is a VERY welcome change!
I'm so excited about the new survival changes <3 Good job blizzard <3
Apologies for not revisiting this post sooner to answer questions. Frankly, a lot of things were unknown at the time of this post; all we knew for sure is that AP was being used as a direct coefficient, but not how it was being used. There will be a new post up today which should answer these questions, but to hit on the major concerns; it's not going to be "like vanilla" by any means (weapons were actually even more imbalanced then in many ways, depending on the patch), but weapon damage is still a factor, and it's an overall good change seemingly intended to make classes better scale similarly to one another.
They sort of still have it, but its hidden I believe, for instance look at the orc racial blood fury it says 400 attack power atm in BFA. and back in legion it was more.
