Obtained one of these by DE'ing an LFR-obtained item. I imagine this will not make it to live (blood spirits were hotfixed out of the LFR gear in 5.1)

These items are the new Spirito del Sangue and can be used for crafting. They are acquired from disenchanting raid quality items and as such will be very rare and expensive at the start of the patch.

EDIT: On 3/3/2013 I bought 12 Druid tier 15 shoulders and DE'ed all of them on a premade character. I got one Sha Crystal and one Haunting Spirit for every DE, I did not have the guild perk. Unless something changes on live these appear to have a 100% drop rate

EDIT 2: We DE'ed one item in our 10 man last night. We got one haunting spirit and one sha crystal. This is a small sample size so keep that in mind. Item was Granstivali del Vincolafantasmi (No shamans :( )

EDIT 3: After Several DE's as far as I can tell this has a 100% drop rate. I saw it DE'ed from a few LFR items early in the release, but this appears to have been hotfixed. If anyone can confirm post 3/15 that it's not a 100% drop rate or it does still drop from LFR, please do!

EDIT 4: Likely the final edit, this appears to have a 100% drop rate. Our holy pally has disenchanted about 6 items in our raid group (yes it's painful to watch) and we've gotten a haunting spirit every time. So for all of you looking for spirits the prices will decrease after the first few bosses are really on farm for a few weeks.

EDIT 5: Well others appear to not have the same luck as I have had. Looks like there was a change before it went life to reduce the drop rate. Appears to no longer be 100%

Final EDIT: This will be overshadowed in patch 5.4 by Spirito della Guerra which introduces a major change to raid craftables.

Can someone please confirm whether the Haunting Spirits are BoP or not? The wording in item description could indicate they're BoP although it doesn't state it directly ("Binds on pickup").

I've hear strong claims that is is BoP but some of the comments here speculate about the cost of the spirits as if they'd be open for (direct) trade.

Obtained one by disenchanting LFR bracers today on live. Its yet to be seen if it will be hotfixed.

I can confirm that today 3/12/2013 that I used my extra roll on the second boss in the LFR (Horridon) and ended up receiving two Stelo Vincolaspiriti del Dinomante. I went ahead and disenchanted one of them since they're obviously BOP and I received two Cristallo Sha and one Spirito Infestante. The other drops I received are all viable upgrades, so I do not currently have a way to test this again to see if it's repeatable.

Gave 2 sha crystal, 0 Spirito Infestante spirit.

Don't think it works for the vendor rep gear.

Our raid DE'd a 522 item that we couldn't use. It did not drop a Haunting Spirit, so assume that the drop rate is not 100% unless it's hotfixed sometime.

The other day, Reliquia Rubata di Zuldazar dropped in our 10 man Throne of Thunder raid. I disenchanted it and to my surprise I received 1 x Cristallo Sha and 0 x Spirito Infestante. I opened a ticket and here's a section of the reply.

"As an enchanter, I got to know the Blood Spirits pretty well and much like their new counterpart, Haunting Spirits, they are not always guaranteed. While in most cases it seems like you will always get them, there is still chance that you won't- so not a perfect 100%, probably closer to a 50/50 chance."

So as confirmed by a GM, Spirito Infestante does not drop 100% of the time from disenchanting ilvl 522 gear. I do believe the drop rate is much higher than the 50% chance the GM is suggesting because I have never failed to receive a Spirito del Sangue from disenchanting ilvl 489/496 gear.

I ended up using the item for my Resto set. Sorry, I did not attempt to re-disenchant the item.

At the current prices these are selling for, on my realm just 1 iLvl 522 Tailoring Item (For example Copricapo dei Boccioli Caduti) costs over 160K Gold. (8x Spirito Infestante at AH Price of 20k Gold each - And I've been watching the AH, no one is buying them yet the sellers keep relisting at this extreme price for something that is just a Disenchant with a chance above 50% in LFR! Granted only 2 tiers open right now and the chance of even getting a epic is not great, but lets be realistic here)

Am I the only one that thinks this is seriously bad and that Blizzard should reduce the amount of Spirito Infestante required for making items?
Don't get me wrong, I believe the iLvl 522 Crafted items should be expensive and to earn the crafter a good amount of gold, but 160k for a iLvl 522 item craft is the same cost of the TCG Mounts on my realms AH that cost $200+ in real world money (For example Razzo Fatuo X-51 X-TREME) so I'm pretty sure my point is extremely valid! (40K for 8 would be the kind of money I'd spend this soon after 5.2 hit)

I play on proudmoore and just checked the AH for these cheapest was 14,998 and the most was 29,998 so I would need over 80k gold to make the 522 feet for my mage thats unreal

I am quite pleased that these have not (yet) been duplicated since Blizzard has closed a loophole that Blood Spirits fell victim to.

Sadly, give it time though. I hope I am wrong, but soon enough we will be seeing level 1s selling Haunting Spirits in batch of up to a couple hundred. Then the deniers saying they are from people who xfer'd realms and such. It's sad we can literally predict this now :(

Just check Tichondrius - Alliance AH and we have 2 as of 5 mins ago for 10.8 and 10.9k each. I was cuiriously after starting to learn ilvl 522 Blacksmithing recipes through making Lightning Ingots. Both boot recipes I have require 6 of these a piece. Might have to invest in some and strike it rich lol

I ran LFR today, and got honored with Shado-Pan Assault, so the cloak I had from LFR was disenchanted. Crystal but no spirit. I then ran another LFR, got a neck piece I didn't need, disechanted, crystal but no spirit. And then I ran the third one, got a weapon I didn't need, disenchanted, crystal but no spirit. In conclusion, 3 disenchants of 502 gear, 0 haunting spirits.

Not sure if they hotfixed the fact that LFR drops them so that it doesn't at all anymore, or if the drop rate is lower than 100% and I just got really unlucky, but either way I can 100% confirm it is NOT a 100% droprate in LFR.

Yes, DE'd 2 LFR items and got NO haunting spirits. I think it is pretty abysmal that to craft the items that your profession offers you takes a mat that you can only realistically get if you are raiding in a top level guild. Once more blizzard stiffs the casual player. By creating a monopoly for crafters from a high level raiding guild they are blocking the casual raider from access.

Huge level differences between 25 man raid gear and LFR, inability to craft the top level items from my profession... all stinks.

My problem with the whole Spirito Infestante / Spirito del Sangue thing is that historically speaking, crafted epics were a supplemental equipment choice for players. Now, the only way they're crafted at all is if nobody can use the gear. Not only that, but you HAVE to have an Enchanter in the raid group.

Ideally, they should be purchasable via Valor (during the current tier...). That would make a nice overflow dump for Valor, or create a meaningful choice between the Shado-Pan gear versus a crafting material - especially since they've stopped the whole BoE Valor Epics.

I am very disappointed in this item so far. It reminds of the ghost dye in the past. If no one sold it you could not get it if you were not a alchemist. Now if no one sell's the Haunting Spirit from their disenchants you cannot get it.

A lot of the comments seem to think WoW is black and white and every realm is exactly like their realm. I play on a number of realms and the AH trends, prices, etc. are vastly different. It is extremely easy to have many days on one particular realm where nothing sells, no matter how much it should be in demand. That might be attributed to people not knowing what the best items are to use, a glut of items in the AH, or simply that everyone now has multiple toons and, like me, covers all of the professions and makes their own items. Inscription is essentially dead because people get only what they need and they don't have to re-learn it every again. So, your best bet is making cards, which is going to take up a lot of farming time to make enough cards to make enough decks to even come close to "averaging" what some other profession might make.

The point by some elitists about "go play the content" seems fairly moronic at this point because the raids you're running to get the Haunting Spirits are the raids that are dropping the 522 gear anyway. There's no guarantee that the raid will always have an Enchanter and certainly none that a Haunting Spirit will even drop.

Then, even if one does drop, you're rolling against 10 or 25 people for it... and you pretty much need 8 of these to make any one item.

So to the elitist pigs I say, Just Shut Up!

I'm running those raids on multiple toons and after all these weeks, I have a total of 3 Blood Spirits spread across 3 different toons and ZERO Haunting Spirits. However, I have nearly every 522 pattern learned.

10K? 20K? I should be so lucky. On my main server I've seen a total of 4 in the AH since they came out. The first listed for 30k. Today, after a week+ with none in the AH, there were 3 listed... 40k, 34.9k and 30k.

How many 522 items have listed in the AH on that same realm? ZERO

How many 502 weapons have been listed? ZERO... because it takes 30 days to make one and those people are likely making them for all of their own toons.

The people commenting on the excessive difficulty of getting the mats are not always "lazy" people trying to "buy" everything. A whole lot of them are working hard every day, farming and doing dailies, running dungeons and raids... and they still have nothing to show for that time and only the likelihood of spending at least 240k-320k to make a 522 item before the next xPac.

So stuff the derogatory elitist crap back up your arse and just let people roll with the fact that some realms are far worse than others for prices, sales and everyone is seeing very few drops of these Spirits. The point was also valid that you're having to DE 522 gear to get the mats to a 522 crafted item... and it's more likely that everyone will be geared up in 522 raid gear before any one person gets enough doggone Haunting Spirits to make the first crafted piece... at least on my mean realm, and most likely on the others too at this rate. LOL

Never crafted any gear who needed Spirito Infestante, Spirito del Sangue or anything else , just because when u are able to buy and craft then, u already got overgeared for this kind of recipe and it goes to forgetfulness.
This is just for hardcore raiding guilds , shame on you Blizzard , again !

i have de lfr gear and gotten no haunting spirits. and on my realm they r just starting to come down in price. keeping my eyes open to be one the first to make gear and post it on ah so i can get top price for once.
i did get lots of blood spirits from de in lfr for other MoP rfinders still do i get least one or 2 wk so they do still drop for chanters in lfr

As someone who came very late to Mists, to my perspective this item remains an oddity in that only hard core raiders are likely to get enough of these to actually craft any gear and they are least likely to need the gear they craft.

So something for the VERY rich in a hurry to buy, and for frequent raiders to sell. Nothing else right now. Not knocking it, but that's the way it seems to me to be..

Prices falling weekly on Mal'Ganis but still just under 5 thousand apiece.

I'm gearing up slowly enough that maybe when they hit a thousand per haunting I'll see my way clear to start buying and crafting...

Price depends on your server ... population on my server is dropping as raiding guilds move off to greener pastures ... they are going for 20k+ on my server ... a friend on another server that has a higher population of raiding guilds is picking them up for 5k

These need to be on a vendor soon. Lower population servers NEVER see them hit the AH. Been watching for weeks on my main, and through the Armory App. Only one has popped up cross faction too. And it was 18000 gold.

Just got it confirmed by a GM:

"These items are gained from disenchanting items of ilevel 522 or more! You have an alternatively to get them from other players who have done so, via trade / Auction House."

So they are not obtainable in LFR (yet).

Nothing drops them with in the item level you are questing/looting/disenchanting in to make the items you want. So, by the time you can afford to buy or have access to disenchant these things to craft with your own crafting skill(no less) you will not need them anymore. One lame item. Guess you can sell them once you get them to over working fools. As far as using them to craft something you can use. The effort out weighs the item you can make.

speaking with a GM, he advised me that haunting spirits do not drop from LFR gear or vendor gear.. only gear from 10 and 25 man regular raids.

By the time I can get these and even 8 of them, I won't be needing to make the gear anymore except for an alt i don't play often. Makes them kind of worthless to me even though I have several patterns that need them.

Crafting professions are useless right now unless you are in a raiding guild that is so well geared you can and will be DEing 522 drops.

I haven't tried this but has anyone disenchanted lvl 522 items sold by the Shado Pan assault quartermaster? If they DE into Haunting Spirit then you could effectively use VP to buy Haunting Spirits. Albeit at a high price in VPs.

As of 5.4 these drops from il 496 timeless isle gear disenchants. After clearing all the chests on the isle, I sent the excess to my enchanter. Each piece (if you can open them) DEs to a sha crystal and has a chance to drop a haunting spirit. I DEed about 20 il496 pieces and received 2 Haunting spirits.

I can confirm the trinket you get out of a Stranezza Senza Tempo can DE into a Cristallo Sha and a Spirito Infestante. Altough regular Timeless plate and cloaks only drop Cristallo Sha after a few dozen of DEs, is not 100% chance!

i think it would an interesting idea if we could perhaps trade (10) Blood Spirits for (1) Haunting Spirit with a vendor, or have a combine/convert spell (like other enchanting materials).

i find i can at least get Blood Spirits. then at least some of us can make some of the older gear (yes, the newer tailoring crafted items seem to be a lot easier to craft - time consuming, but doable!)

I have disenchanted tons of lvl 522 and higher items and have never had a haunting spirit drop. Ever. So I'm thinking the 100% drop rate might be a tad bit off.

I disenchanted 1 runs worth of 10 normal Throne of Thunder, and received 19 haunting spirits;I disenchanted 1 runs worth of 10 normal Terrace of endless spring, and have 8 blood spirits :) Good luck all I love this hood :)

As of Shadowlands I ran a normal 25man Throne of Thunder, which now drops ilvl 40 gear. I have gotten 1 Haunting spirit and 1 Sha Crystal per piece of gear that drops. On 25 man it seems that 6 pieces of gear drop per boss but I could be wrong. Not sure what 10 man drops but if I run it I will update.

1 run on normal 25 man Throne of Thunder netted me 71 Haunting Spirits and 77 Sha Crystals. The extra Sha Crystals came from epics that dropped off of Trash Mobs. The epics that dropped from trash only seemed to give me Sha Crystals and not Haunting Spirits when DE'd even though they were also ilvl 40 pieces.
