This item will be released as the uncommon loot from the WoW TCG Expansion "Betrayal of the Guardian". The official release date is mid February 2013.

Facts:

Shares hearthstone cooldown (default 30 min. or less) effectively replacing hearthstone.
Character uses an translucent miniature version of the Blasted Lands original portal.
Sets to current hearth location when received and location can be changed by any Innkeeper.

The loot items from this set are:
Gusting Grimoir (1/3)
Dark Portal (2/3)
Ghastly Charger's Skull (3/3)

A miniature version of the dark portal will remain on the location where you teleported from - for around a minute. I tried this by hearthstoning infront of my inkeeper. Pretty cool.

This item is currently incredibly light and transparent. So much so that it's easier to see what's around the portal then the portal itself. I hope they improve it but in the meantime I'll keep using my Ethereal Portal because imo the Dark Portal simply isn't fun to use as is.

I pop this out after doing a world boss like Oondasta, Galleon or Sha of Anger, and people actually try to fly through it as I'm hearthing! (Lawls)

Once I found out that it leaves a "dark portal" (that's not transparent) at the location I hearthed from, it has become fun to switch to my priest (Shadowpriest) and hearth inside some part of the Shrine, before switching back to one of my alts. Leaving others to wonder on TradeChat WTF is going on. ;-)

This item will become a Toy in Legion! Pack rats rejoice!

The implications of this are that if you have Portale Etereo, Portale Oscuro or Figlia del Locandiere, come Legion you will have a Hearthstone that takes no bag space (as you can use it from your Toy collection!).

LEGION TELEPORTER TOYS

Below is a list of teleportation devices that are being turned into Toys come Legion.

All Engineering Teleporters are Bind On Use. While their schematics are fairly easy to get, you can also have another Engineer craft them, or they can be purchased on the Auction House if someone happens to be listing them.

Teletrasporto Ultrasicuro: Stazione di Toshley	Crafted by Gnomish Engineers. Schematic is learned from Smiles Ruotadisco in Blade's Edge Mountains, - if you are a Gnomish Engineer with 350 skill, he will teach it to you simply by speaking to him. Requires 350 skill to use.

Faro del Kirin Tor	Quest Reward. Alliance only. Granted on completion of the quest La tempesta si avvicina. This quest is preceded by Il richiamo del tuono, the introductory quest to the Isle of Thunder, started by Lyalia.
Figlia del Locandiere	Archaeology project. Created on completion of Figlia del Locandiere, a Rare Dwarf Artifact which requires 150 fragments, and has 3 keystone slots for Pietra Runica dei Nani. Replaces your hearthstone (shares a cooldown). When used, a ghost of The Innkeeper's Daughter will sometimes randomly appear.
Le Scuole della Magia Arcana - Maestria	Achievement Reward. Granted on completion of the achievement Conoscenza superiore, which requires you to read several rare spawn books that appear in Dalaran on 3-4 hour spawn timers. Teleports you to a tower in Dalaran, where you speak to Archmage Vargoth to to obtain the Battle pet Famiglio del Kirin Tor. If you have deleted this item, you an obtain another by speaking to Rhonin in Dalaran.
Portale Oscuro	TCG item. Effectively replaces your hearthstone (shares a cooldown, so no point keeping both!) but uses a neat visual effect while casting (summons a miniature version of the Dark Portal).
Portale Etereo	TCG item. Effectively replaces your hearthstone (shares a cooldown, so no point keeping both!) but uses a neat visual effect while casting (summons a miniature Ethereal Portal).

New Toys - Old Items Converting to Toys
I figured it's better now than later to start farming the old items that will be converted to toys in Legion. Who knows if they'll lower drop rates or how heavily they will be camped once they're added to the toybox.
I made myself a Google Sheets document to track all the toys being converted and it has the ability to mark off the item once you've found it. With the filters I can then hide any marked off toys. This has really helped me find and track the long list of items and I wanted to share it with the community. I've heavily cleaned it up for sharing purpose, so feel free to use it as you please!

My boyfriend just got this and I can see that it scales with playermodels as the Ethereal Portal used to. I've been waiting for years for them to revert that change as the GM I contacted said it wasn't intended to be 1-set size. Hopefully this won't happen for this item too.

As of patch 7.0.3, this still does not seem to show up in the toy box.

As of 7.0 (Legion Pre-Patch), the Dark Portal is now considered a Toy, and can be learned.
Usable across all characters.

In addition, the Dark Portal is not longer translucent when channeling, and now looks solidified while channeled.

While the Grande Orso della Blizzard mount looks great, I'm far more interested in the Teschio del Destriero dell'Oltretomba mount from the BlizzCon 2019 Giveaway.

Having said that, I would't turn down one of the toys Idolo di Ogre Magico, Portale Oscuro, Cestino da Picnic, or any of the pets such as Pesce Palla Viola, Grimorio Vorticoso, Occhio della Legione, or Cucciolo di Lunagufo / Cucciolo di Lunagufo (depending on faction).

Must confess that a couple of the items aren't that appealing to me, e.g. Bomba Colorante and B.O.M.B.A. da Festa!
