For the past 4 days i've gotten:

Day 1: 3x Mare e Monti al Pepe Nero
Day 2: 1x Gran Tripudio alla Pandaren
Day 3: 3x Colazione del Birraio Folle
Day 4: 3x Sorpresa di Granchio al Vapore

Seems the bag can contain any skill 600 food. Presumably things Nomi cooked up himself.

Based on the observations of backeby and myself as well as the data available, I would predict this bag to have the following possible contents:

2-5xMare e Monti al Pepe Nero
2-5xSpaghetti di Riso "Nebbia Marina"
2-5xZuppa di Pesce dei Mogu
2-5xSorpresa di Granchio al Vapore
2-5xInvoltini Primavera di Tian

Now after more than 1000 data points it is safe to say that each of these seven items is equally likely (14.28%) and the different quantities for the personal food is equally distributed (3.57 %).

My advice: get together with other characters who've trained Nomi (preferably characters with different primary attributes than yourself) and send each others the foods you don't need. If you get one character for every high-end buff food in such a trading group then their individual chance to get an appropriate dish per day went from 14.28 % to 53.73 % .

: The chance of getting any amount of Zuppa di Pesce dei Mogu on a day is 1/7 ≈ 14.28 %. In a group of 5 characters sending each other the food they don't need, it would be like if you could open 5 bags per day. Getting any amount of a specific dish is 1/7 as seen above, so the chance of not getting that food is 6/7. Not getting your desired dish form 5 bags is (6/7)^5 and the complement of that, 1 - (6/7)^5 ≈ 0.5373, is the chance of getting some amount of your favorite dish on a given day from 5 characters.

Have they nerfed the 300 food drops, or have I just been having terrible luck? the last 3 days I've only gotten Colazione del Birraio Folle and Gran Tripudio alla Pandaren. Until this past Tuesday I've been getting regular 300 food out of the bag with very few of the other two (I've been able to get the bag now for about 6 weeks). I am going to be really mad if they nerfed it, cause I worked for over a week to get the bell on all 6 of my 90s just for the extra raid food.

Nope, looks like I just had terrible luck, I've been getting the 300 food again.

I've been doing this for probably a bit longer than a week now on my warrior and I've looted from this bag roughly 30 Black pepper ribs and shrimp (strength buff) and 30 Chun tian spring rolls (Stam buff)

So I'm 99% sure this works on your current loot specialization or class in patch 5.3

Edit: this seems to have changed for me all of a sudden, got some int food and some agi food. Could have been hot fixed or I could have just had an oddly long streak of getting my own class' food
