Occasionally while working towards finishing the common Pandaren artifacts, you actually end up completing a 'Pristine' version of the artifact instead. Hand in the subsequent quest at the Seat of Knowledge in the Vallata dell'Eterna Primavera (there is nothing else that needs to be done) and you'll receive one Frammento di Ceramica dei Pandaren and 3x Manufatto Restaurato (which is an archaeological currency for MoP).

The location 'The Seat of Knowledge' for all hand-ins to Ramingo della Sapienza Cho is above the Palazzo Mogu'shan in the Vallata dell'Eterna Primavera and can only be accessed with flying.

Getting ALL Pandaren and Mogu 'Pristine' artifacts will also earn you the achievement L'Archivio della Conoscenza.

It's also worth noting that while you can accept these 'Pristine' quests at level 85 (as soon as you get the quest item), you physically cannot reach the area you need to hand in at until you're 90 or unless you get a level 90 friend with a two-person flying mount to taxi you up there. You'll already know this, if you've managed to leg it into the zone (like me) and stood mere inches away from the hand in, with no ability to actually get to it. Lock summons can also do the trick here (this is also the part where we lament the good old days of mass summoning). Otherwise, be patient and wait till you're big and bad enough to do it yourself!

You have the chance to proc this item rather than Bastone di Bambù del Padre della Birra Ren Yun and therefore do not receive credit for that item in I Tre Padri della Birra upon completing the project.

I'm not sure how something you put together from fragments can be pristine, but I'll take it!

Be sure to read the nice plaque description of each pristine item once you turn it in for display at the Seat of Knowledge. The lore and backstory are interesting:

Walking Cane of Brewfather Ren Yun

A long cane tipped with a head of carved whalebone, once used by the enigmatic Brewfather, Ren Yun. Blind since birth, Ren Yun's other senses were heightened. As a result, he found the brews of his time to be harsh or bitter. Years of experimentation allowed him to perfect four perfect brews that appealed to each of his other senses. And yet, the "one brew" that would appeal to all four senses at the same time eluded him. It was only at the end of his long life that he perfected the one master recipe, "The Four Senses Brew", that was the most magnificent discovery of his generation. Sadly the recipe was lost to time, because Ren Yun's handwriting was pretty much illegible.

Since there is a Quest for each pristine artifact, you can use a macro command to check if you've already completed each quest.

For the Bastone di Bambù Intatto / Bastone di Bambù Intatto:

/run print(IsQuestFlaggedCompleted(31798))
A result of 1 means that you have done it already, and "nil" means you haven't completed it yet.

Or you can go visit The Seat of Knowledge in The Vale of Eternal Blossoms, and stroll around the museum exhibit to view all your completed pristine artifacts.

Or (lazy bones) open your Achievements panel and view your progress on The Seat of Knowledge.
