Droped by Sahn Tidehunter (a rare elite in the Vale of Eternal Blossom).
Another flavor item that does almost exactly what you'd expect it to.
Buffs you with swim speed and water breathing, but also makes you almost invisible as if made out of water as an added visual effect.
The buff remains regardless of mounting or taking damage in combat.
Tough to get a good screenshot but hopefully you get the idea.
You can use this item in pvp.

It's a bit of a shame it only gives 50% swim speed. The Sea Turtle/Poseidus give 60%, making this pretty pointless if you already have an aquatic mount.

I would have hoped it would be at least equal speed..

The graphic looks REALLY cool with Pandaren since the model has a lot of bones and doesn't get blocky. But it doesn't seem to show on-character spell animations and is a bit more transparent than translucent(which I would prefer) which makes it hard to see.

Doesn't stack with other swim speeds it seems :(

Upon end of duration your character makes a cast animation and water splashes around like you are throwing it away(pretty cool looking too)

Ashes Of Al'ar retains the swirly magic effect from it's wings even with this buff active. Looks pretty cool. The firelands firehawk mounts are also worth trying with this item active. Check out picture number 5 for a view of a firehawk.

With this item activated if you are a Shadow Priest and use Shadowform you can become almost completely invisible. Posted a picture!

The graphic of the use effect is simply brilliant. It could even have some PvP applications as you can be very difficult to see with it on.

Personally, I've macro'd it into my cooldowns button. So now, once an hour when I blow my cooldowns, I also become somewhat ethereal!

when i first got this i thought it was not great. but i have found out that this can be a fantastic pvp item, use it in battlegrounds and use a elixer that makes you small and alot of times people dont even notice you because you blend into the environment.

Ok so my question is does your name still show up in red above your head... I can't get a straight answer out of anyone, I keep hearing about how this would be good for PvP but is it a true stealth, I don't wanna waste my time farming for something that is just going to be a novelty item.

Just got this and can confirm that it does not stack with Aquatic Form's swim speed increase.

It does have a very cool looking affect, though.

This item used in PvP turns you into a GOD for 10 minutes. There are so many useful situations, which I'm sure you can imagine, that make this item somewhat exploitative. Let's just say certain things you normally can't do in PvP while in stealth are less of a problem with this........let's hope it doesn't get nerfed.

Most useful applications I've found in PvP so far are flag running, and holding the orb in temple of kotmogu(this one is big, it makes the beam of light marking you very see through as well).

Interesting fact:
When riding on the Drake of the South Wind, you're nearly invisible.
Same with other Stormdrakes, but the South Wind Drake is a little bit more invisible.

Edit: In 5.3 Sahn the Tidehunter will be relocated right outside the horde base, next to the pool (just look for the dead giant crab).

On the patch 5.3 PTR, there's a huge crater where Zahn and his pool used to be, hopefully Blizzard won't forget to relocate him in time before the patch goes live, but just in case you might want to farm your Gioiello Verde Acqua sooner rather than later.

This may seems useless but I didn't see anyone make a comment on this. When you use the crystal, a geyser of water spouts below you and you make a casting animation, turning you into the transluscent image seen in the screen shots. When the 10 minute duration ends, the same geyser of water along with the spell casting animation occurs again as you return to your regular appearance.

I made a list of gimmick items which you can use to transform your character into a different form or race or even gender to play around with. I didn't add items like weapons that provide a procc with a transform effect that only lasts a few seconds even though I know about them. My intention was to list all items with controlable transformations. Feel free to let me know if I missed an item!

Use Gioiello Verde Acqua then overwrite the character model with Ballata del Vecchio Marinaio Senza Tempo.

Mount up, and you will still be a glowing Skeleton on a Aqua mount. Pretty fun combinations.

Notable applications of this item with this is mind are as follows:

Arathi Basin: With the obvious base surrounded by water on all sides being Blacksmith and the average duration of the battleground being just a bit shorter than than 20 minutes, it makes sense to use this item to your advantage if you want to be mobile between bases but don't want to be kept on the roads fighting or penned in at one base. There is also the pool of deep water next to Gold Mine that you can use to your advantage to kite multiple enemies who won't expect you to use the item.

Twin Peaks: the Horde base has a notable moat of water, and as Alliance you could use the item to get a head start with flag carrying (the last time I used the item for this purpose, Pozione d'Acquascura stacked with the Jewel buff for an even bigger speed boost across half the map), or, again, use the item during base fights to turn the water into a terrain advantage.

Battle For Gilneas: The Water Mill base has three main approaches to it, two of those are directly from the water. Since the entire battleground is placed next to a sea coast, you can again turn the water into a terrain buff, especially if you use the water depth to your advantage.

Isle of Conquest: Despite being an island, there's not much water in the actual battleground! However, the notable exception is the Alliance side Quarry, which is basically just a flag on a boat to capture. Since this objective will almost always be captured by either side for the siege battle at the doors, it may give a potential advantage if you are attacking or defending.

Using this and mounting Onyxian Drake results in a pretty effective camouflage as well. Have yet to notice a similar effect on any other mounts, but I might do some testing later.

Interesting little thing you can do with this: since the visual change when WoD hit, it now turns Pureblood Firehawk green and Corrupted Firehawk blue.

With Aqua Jewel: 101% movement speed swimming.
With Darkwater Potion: 202% movement speed swimming.

The buff from Aqua Jewel is called "Shimmering Water", changing the color of your character and mount to a translucent shade of you guessed it... aqua. Aside from augmenting your swim speed, underwater breathing, and character/mount color, there are a few additional bonus effects that are class specific.

Rogues for example have the animation for fan of knives hidden while they hold the "Shimmering Water" buff, meaning you have a sneaky sneaky way of pulling people out of stealth, and whatever other tricks you guys may come up with.

As of 26 July 2015, the Aqua Jewel no longer gives that cool, blue shiny transparent buff. It now just makes your character quite transparent, but only adds a slight blue tint to your color while you still retain your current armor you wear. Depressing as I loved the blue before, not sure when this was changed but quite sad. Will upload a pic once my CD is up.

Something I just noticed that no one seems to have mentioned is that when you have the effect, you don't cast a shadow.

I just thought that's a pretty neat touch.

Finally got mine. Camped Sahn while using the handy Stealthman 54, and while watching MonsterQuest on Netflix, lol. Here's what I found out while camping him and writing down the spawn/kill times.

He spawns every 40-50 minutes, roughly. To be exact, he spawned numerous times after 44 minutes, and numerous times after 48 minutes.

I got the Aqua Jewel on my 9th kill. Everything else was just a bunch of stupid capes and coins.

Now my mage can swim faster than his sea turtle mount, and breath underwater without his Mastercraft Kalu'ak Fishing Pole equipped!

New Toys - Old Items Converting to Toys
I figured it's better now than later to start farming the old items that will be converted to toys in Legion. Who knows if they'll lower drop rates or how heavily they will be camped once they're added to the toybox.
I made myself a Google Sheets document to track all the toys being converted and it has the ability to mark off the item once you've found it. With the filters I can then hide any marked off toys. This has really helped me find and track the long list of items and I wanted to share it with the community. I've heavily cleaned it up for sharing purpose, so feel free to use it as you please!
