Edit 2-Why is this getting down-voted? I even linked a datamined spell in the Jewelcrafter profession that has a 10 sec cast to create a Onyx Panther. Seems very possible this is a jewelcrafter made mount like the Mechano chopper/Mekgineer chopper and Vial of sands. Blizzard even stated before that they wanted to make a Jewelcrafter mount.

The Pantera d'Onice Ingioiellata will be craftable by Jewelcrafters that have reached level 600 in the profession. The materials needed to craft this beautiful mount are as follows:

Pantera di Pietrasole x1
Pantera di Giada x1
Pantera di Rubino x1
Pantera di Zaffiro x1

UPDATE 08/01/2012: The materials for the mounts were drastically changed, thankfully. This mount originally cost the 4 mounts which in order to craft each mount, you needed Globo del Mistero x5 per mount. The price for each one was 100k gold, totalling in 2 million gold to craft this mount.

Since Mists of Pandaria is still in Beta, these materials and their quantities are subject to change. I will try to keep this post up-to-date as the beta progresses.

UPDATE 06/26/2012:

This mount was originally NOT going to be on the list of account-wide mounts in Mists of Pandaria. However, a decision was quite recently made to change this:

so for a total of 20 Something Expensive to make the Jeweled Onyx Panther

cause the selling price is 25k, and we know the selling price is 25% of the buying price.

UPDATE 08/01/2012: Thankfully, each mount now only needs one of these. It appears the sell price has been removed from the item so I am curious to know how much these now cost, if changed

Considering that the cost to make this mount is 2 million gold (see my other post at the top), how will anyone be able to buy/sell this mount? The gold cap for a character is 999,999g 99s 99c which is only half of the cost to make this mount.

My theory is that either the character gold cap will raise (unlikely due to programming issues that may cause), the price of Globo del Mistero will be reduced or the mount will become BoP. To be honest, I hope for the first two theories.

Anyone have any better theories or possibly some evidence that leads to a solution? I have posted my concerns on the beta forums, as well. Since the devs are tied up with most everything else, I do not expect a reply to my post...I just hope they see it.

I use polymerization to fuse Pantera di Pietrasole, Pantera di Rubino, Pantera di Zaffiro, and Pantera di Giada into Pantera d'Onice Ingioiellata. I then set two cards face down and end my turn.

Would be cool if this was a transformation instead of a mount.... something like the Vial of the Sands but ground bound. The thing is that the model rehash of older mounts its getting... well, "old", cause they way it it right now, this panther is just another nigh elf mount with a paint job. I personally wished for new mount animations and ways of riding them. For example riding the kite like a flying carpet was such a disappointment... would have been better to be able to use it as a Hang%^&*!@.

Call this mount "Jeweled Panther Charm / Statue", and please make it another transformation for the sake of variety and mysticism :D

This mount will be extremely expensive. The mount itself is crafted from 4 mounts, which are crafted from 5 ingradients each, summing up to a total of 2 million gold cost.
And the sell price of this is 2 gold and 50 silver. Seems to be a trade that worths it...

it's fair to assume that the component panther mounts will require only 1 Living Stone each, plus a handful of raw gems that correspond with that colour.

If you want a single coloured panther, expect to drop a minimum of 100k
If you want only this black panther, expect to drop a minimum of 400k
if you are a mount completionist, you are going to lose 800k minimum on these.

(but don't worry, this lovable friend will likely be worth more just to be spiteful)

I'm going to asume you need to have the 4 individual panther items in your bag in order to create the fifth one & if you had already learned them, will need to make 4 more to create the onyx one. So for collectors like myself, we're looking at making a total of 8 for ourselves before we sell anything? (4 to learn + 4 more to make the jeweled onyx & learn that).

If this assumption is correct then the total materials to aquire all 5 mounts are going to be:

160,000g for the orbs
16 serpent eye gems
32 living steel (which is 192 trillium bars & 32 days worth of alchemy transmutes)
40 each of primordial rubies, suns radiances, rivers hearts, wild jades

I'm not sure if it's a bug or not, but after testing a few times, it appears it slightly increases your size when you mount up. Which is pretty neat. Hopefully if it is a bug, they don't fix it. lol

EDIT: Upon having some friend in-game watch me mount & dismount a few times (to make sure the camera angle change from mounting wasn't playing tricks on my eyes), it seems you do in fact grow in size when you mount up on this mount, and go back to normal size when you dismount.

I'm not sure if this happens with the other 4 JC mounts, as I don't have them yet to test this. Nor do I know if this was an intended effect by Blizzard or if it's just a bug, but either way I hope they keep it like this. =)

Just a few remarks I thought I'd like to make having sold Pantera d'Onice Ingioiellata for 90k. As I'm not a JC, I am not 100% certain of the cost of materials but personally, that price was sufficient to give me a reasonable rate of return.

I have only found conflicting reports as to the cost and would be interested to know the exact cost of materials from JCs who have made them. It would also be of interest to know what prices people are selling these for.

It took me about a full day of camping trade at peak hours until I eventually got a seller, which ironically was someone who spotted it on AH and whispered me.

Due to the high price of the mount there is less interest going around than there might otherwise be and as such you will have to be patient. Be prepared for trolls and a lot of people who are clueless as to cost of making one. It can get frustrating but there are genuine buyers out there!

Hopefully it is not a universal problem but I personally had to contend with two very suspect individuals selling them for around 70-75k which as I understand it, is a loss. I can only assume these were gold sellers. I'm not sure whether they are dealing with duplicates or hacked accounts but either way they make it hard to get buyers at a fair price. All I could do was wait them out and hope they didn't advertise the price.

Overall, from my experience of selling and checking AH prices regularly, I have come to the conclusion that it will be extremely hard to justify making these when Pantera di Pietrasole Pantera di Giada Pantera di Rubino Pantera di Zaffiro will individually go for a total higher than the Pantera d'Onice Ingioiellata will fetch. People are not willing to pay prices of 130k in order for you to have benefited from consuming the other panthers.

For those crafting a mount for themselves, they should take note. You may be better off buying the mount and selling your 4 panthers individually as that way you get the mount and also make some profit.

Good luck to everyone else selling.and it would be interesting to hear if other servers have the same issues.

Well I've made and learned them all (so yes that means I had to make the Ruby, Sapphire, Jade and Sunstone ones twice). As I've mentioned before (and got down-voted for it by sad little fanboys) and can confirm now, the Onyx one is EXACTLY the same model as the others. The only difference being the Onyx model has different colored stones on it and is bigger than the other models. Otherwise they are exactly the same.

I'm a mount collector so I made them all, but I'd suggest anyone else just pick their fav color and just make or buy one. The panther in general is a nice mount, but this Onyx model is just laziness on Blizzards part considering the mats and there really is no reason to have more than one unless you are a collector.

I didn't see it posted here but this amount appears to be about 10~20% larger than the other panthers. You will notice when mounting that it will first appear normal size, then slowly grow in about 3 seconds.

I just finally made this. Had one issue that it was not account wide when I learned it. Normally I have a couple accounts active and online at the same time. I learn a mount or pet and they can go right into using it. This one as of this moment, does NOT say account wide on the tool tip and was NOT account wide after I learned it until I relogged my other account. So this scare will most likely only be others that multi-box but the tooltip should be fixed since those selling any of these JC mounts may be hindered by the flaw.

Finally made this. Love it.

One thing I don't like is how it flies. It runs through the air. Just my opinion but I hate that aspect of it. Just looks wrong on mounts that do that.

A couple things for those wondering:
1) It has shinier surface than the Obsidian mount, a light sheen that glares off the black.
2) The size of this mount is slightly larger than the Obsidian mount and other JC panther mounts.
3) This is a mount that you, mount. So don't be confused with that of the Obsidian mount which is one that you transform into, thus being a passenger mount. This one and other JC Panther mounts are one rider only and not able to give someone a lift.

Just a helpful couple of tips for those building it:

1) If your guild is not yet lvl 24 and does not get the lower vendor price. Check the AH. I bought 2 of them from there and 2 via a new friend.
2) Toss the ones you create on the AH as you're working your way towards the Jeweled here. I sold each for 25k as I did them rather than just sticking them in the bank. Made getting the money together so much faster to complete the others.

as you may know there is a problem with this mount...some people think it's being duplicated....i think too as it's going for 30k in my server and some other EU servers ( so it can't be people changing realms)
so for anyone wondering to buy it at low price u better not!

Suggested buyout is 80k, but that is laughable. If you are on Area52, there are soo many people selling this mount on a daily basis. And what is worse, Area52 is mostly filled with trolls who constantly undercut each other, making the value of this thing go down to 20-30k on a daily basis. Yeah yeah, free market I know. But that doesn't excuse people ruining the true value of an item. So, good luck trying to get 80k for this thing.

After making $$$ & saving for about 2-3 months, I bought mine yesterday for 78K. I'm broke as a joke now but at least I got the mount i've been wanting. Haven't seen this mount cheaper that 76K on my server (Area 52 US) like EVER. Usually goes for around 76K-99K. I know to make it, it takes 72K just to buy 4 Orb of Mystery to make the other 4 panthers + the other mats prolly would add up to about 72K+ so I wanna feel like I gotta good deal, even though i'm pretty much bankrupt now.

One thing I didn't like is the noise it keeps making when you mount up & when you're pretty much on it/flying. Otherwise i'm totally in love. I'm a LW/Skinner so obviously I can't make it so kinda HAD to buy it as ppl I know wouldn't make it for me. But Blizz really should make the Orb of Mystery cheaper. I mean 18K each? Like really? I have seen a fair share of ppl w/these mounts but not like a poop ton. It seems like Blizz wants this mount to be very unattainable. Dunno but i'm just glad I got mine. I gold farmed my butt off 4 it. Even JC's, you guys are better off just buying it in the AH than making it yourself IMO.

So after some digging I was able to determine that this item is currently (as of 11/30/13) being "exploitively created" by several GMs.

This is the latest response from Customer Support:
Greetings I hope you are doing well today friend. Game Master (removed by OP) here; when I did a little digging it appears these mounts where created explotively as such there is no way for them to be sold on the auction house at all. I went ahead and double checked and you did buy three of them at 32k a pop, So I send you the 64k you were missing friend. sic

Basically what happened is that I had purchased 3 (more) panthers at 32k each from a level 1 (probably a gold farmer) via trade. The panthers were unable to be listed on the AH due to the "An item with used chargers can not be sold on the AH" error. Instead of the GMs sending me panthers that could be auctioned, as some posters stated previously, they are now removing the panthers from the game.

So Tl;dr:

Buyer beware, these items are likely duped and are being removed by GMs.

The absolute bare minimum cost, not taking account any of the farmable materials, for these is 80,000 gold due to the cost of 4x Globo del Mistero. (The cost previously was around 72,000 due to now removed guild perks giving a discount)

If you see one available for less than this, it is possible that it is a recent realm transfer trying to get around the gold limit by transferring high value items, it is also possible that someone got exceptionally lucky with drops from Regalo di Orotron 4000 (the droprate on an orb from the gift package is so low, that wowhead rounds it down to a flat 0%), it is also possible that someone is selling it without knowing the value.

With the volume that we are seeing on the market, all of these possibilities are much less likely than the panther being obtained illegitimately. Be very careful buying these, only buy it off of the AH (If a mount is on the AH, it may or may not be legit, but it will be learnable, as it has passed all of the games internal checks, even if this changes you are more likely to receive help from a GM if bought off the AH), if someone wants to sell you one in trade, don't give them the gold til you've learned the mount.

I just saw three of these on Darkspear AH selling for 15k BO. I was able to snag one before they were all gone. There is currently 13 more selling for 20k or less. I have no idea why they are going for so low, but considering the mat cost and how much they have dropped since they were going for regular price last week, I am glad I was able to snag one up before the AH wakes back up and corrects this.

REALLY watch out for buying this mount. Use common sense. It's combined price should be over 80k. When you see dozens of them posted by one toon for 20k, they are obviously stolen, hacked, or some sort of shenanigans is going on. Blizzard has actively addressed this issue and knowingly buying these items can, at the worst, get you banned, at the best, they will take away the mount and you'll be out the 20k.

Grrrr,,,, Wish I had read the comments earlier. I made all 4 of the panthers, surmising (incorrectly) that by knowing them that would suffice to make the black (onyx). Now I have 4 lovely panthers, and have to make another 4 just to get the black. IMHO that little gem of information should have been shown somewhere, other than having to research it. So will take another few years to get the black. I am not happy. (:

Today I checked the price of this mount and I'm glad to know that the duping problem is fixed, the mount has a price of 90k now, up from the suspicious 50k.

Bought one yesterday on Argent Dawn, 120.000 so the duplicating/cheating seems to have stopped. It was costy but oh so pretty :)

Also i wanted to add, dont buy items if you feel that theeres something wrong whit the price, take this mount for example. if its too cheap to be true it means something is wrong. Lets not support those who cheat or scam others.

This mount has an "inflatable" effect that I wish it wasn't there. I find small mounts superior because they go through tight spaces easier. This one increases the size of the mount and player by about 5-10% on mount and decreases it again on dismount.

Purchased 2 days ago for 102k on Trollbane EU. Its one of the few mounts that my male panda doesn't looks stupid on, so it was worth the expense. My only complaint is that my hands dont actually grab the reins of the mount when im riding it.

Today, the Jeweled Onyx Panther would cost you$60 if you have to use tokens for AH buyout or to purchase some of the mats.

Here are some estimates of real cash for this mount based on my server prices for tokens as of today:

30,000 gold x 4 = 120,000 for all four panthers, BO
Tokens are selling for about 40,000 g.
(3 x 40,0000 = 120,000 gold needed for all four panthers)
3 tokens to sell for gold x $20 real cash = $60

Let's say you have the gems but not the living steel or orbs.

20,000 gold for Each Orb of Mystery to make one of the panthers
20, 000 g x 4 panthers = 80,000 gold for Orbs
Living Steel = 440 g per bar on my server today
440 x 4(6) = 10,560 g for living steel to make four panthers
90,560 g without buying any gems.
Each panther takes 20 gems.
There really isn't a way to buy a quarter of a token, and you'll still need 3 tokens for the 90,560g to buy the orbs and living steel with a little left over. That could take 3 tokens at 40,000 g each today.

So, buying only the living steel and orbs using tokens, the cash price of the Jeweled Onyx Panther is still about $60 worth of outlay, but with a some gold left over. You could get away with $40 if you supply the difference in cold, just buying 2 tokens ($40) and then using 10,000+ of Blizz coin from gameplay. I just wanted to see what it would be using tokens.

After you pay the bills, at minimum wage in Texas, that's day and half of real life work for the Jeweled Onyx Panther.

I really have mount-envy now.... KUDOS to anyone who has this mount. You earned it, one way or another.

How is this mount so cheap? Jewel panters cost 50-60k, this one costs just 110k, even tho the orbs needed to create it cost 80k alone.
