This is an homage to the Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark. Indy assembles the Staff of Ra and places it in the floor of a map room which reveals the location of the Ark.

Similarly, you assemble this staff and place it in the map on the floor which opens the room to Ironya.

As of patch 3.3, if you use Dungeon Finder to enter Uldaman, it is not possible to trade the components between players from different realms in order to assemble this. So designate a person to loot the pieces beforehand. Be careful when looting until you've finished this.

Kill Revelosh first. THEN go kill the dwarves and whoever looted the staff loots the box.

Interesting tidbit about this item:

There's a 5 yd range on the spell to summon Ironaya, however, if you right-click the staff instead of right clicking the Keystone, then left-click on the Keystone, you can activate the Keystone from the Hall of the Keepers, about 50-60 yds away. Fun little thing you can do to amaze your group if you have been tasked with keeping the staff.

Edit: No longer applies as the item is now unobtainable.

As of patch 4.1 it is no longer required.
I always loved this part, it made this dungeon somewhat unique, but blizz only care about whining, lazy kids paying subscription, so removed it's requirement. /sigh

Aaah, I was worried when I didn't see this on Revelosh's loot table, was kinda fun to use this item now it's gone to waste.
