These are looted automatically (one at a time) to your character (without having to click on corpses) upon delivering a killing blow to or death of a mob/enemy player which grants experience or honour (non-grey) for which you have the tag, so long as you have Guida dell'Avventuriero di Lunacupa on your character (and not banked).

I suggest farming mobs in low level 80-85 zones at level 85, such as Vashj'ir where mobs are plentiful and die quickly, while having used Pozione della Ricerca di Tesori if you plan to loot. I personally prefer to farm Trophies at Deathspeaker's Watch, just off of the Argent Tournament Grounds in northern Icecrown, for gold, cloth, and miscellaneous other items.

Updated for MoP: The seemingly most effective way to farm these is in Skiggit's Cave (23.24, 30.56) in Valley of the Four Winds. His adds (Light Watchers) spawn almost instantly and in high numbers. Be advised, however, that they drop no loot upon being killed.

Verlok's Stand in Deepholm seems to be a good place to mob it up for this quest. Up at the top area though, as the fallen Trogs don't seem to give trophies

I found really nice and easy way to farm this.
Just go with friends in Well of Eternity on last boss when you turn into demon don`t dps boss just stand near portal and aoe every mob gives one Grisly Trophy easy farming. Good luck !

The ears as a trophy was not created by blizzard or from diablo 2. Ears for trophies has been around for hundreds of years. Even noses were trophies from combat on the battle field or even back ally brawls.

If you don't feel like leaving DMF, you can get these by killing Darkmoon Wolves found around the island. They are level 85 but should not be hard to kill. As an undergeared squishy (aka clothie) just turned 80 mage, these wolves took 2 zaps of Arcane Blast and went bye-bye.

This isn't the best source of trophies though, as I have only come across a handful of wolves here, but again is convenient for zapping every so often if you don't wanna leave the island.

Killing these guys works out great when circling the island fishing for Sealed Crates, as the wolves only seem to be on a small patch of land on the Western part of the island. Fish, go inland and kill a few, then go back out and fish some more, circle the island, repeat. Since I'm keen on fishing the Crates and not really wanting to leave the island cuz of that, this helps me get the quest done at the same time.

An excellent place to farm these as a level 85 Hunter is in Utgard Pinnacle's boss Skadi the Ruthless. Start by dismissing your pet. Then what I do is aggro the boss so he flies off and sends minions down the hallway. Multishot or do whatever to kill them all as a group. There are about 10 at the initial pull and its 100% drop rate. Each 2 that he sends down the hallway after that is also 100% so you can either keep farming the trash and just not do the boss normally or, do what I do and feign death after aggroing another add or 2. If done when these adds are aggroed the whole fight resets and you can rinse and repeat as you please till you get to 250.
There is a slight timer on the boss resetting and aggroing/flying away but its not that long and worth the wait in my opinion. :)

The best place I've found for doing this is actually near the Fleshwerks in Icecrown. (Edit: 37, 71 are the basic coords) There's an area with a bunch of skeletons roaming around that award trophies. Here's the best part: 1) They only have 3.7k health and 2) At least 4 skeletons will be spawned at all times; if you reduce the number below 4, another will spawn instantly to take its place.

I wouldn't be surprised if this gets hotfixed at some point.

PS: For those who might be wondering about the oracles/frenzyheart (the ones with low health that are part of the killing dailies) they don't count.

Edit: Updated with coords. Not that it matters at this point, as this has been rated too far down for most people to see. Oh well, those who do make it down this far will have much less competition, because everyone else will be derping it up on converted heroes.

Edit2: A guildmate of mine couldn't find this area despite detailed directions. Turns out it's affected by phasing, so if you've completed certain quests in Icecrown, they may no longer appear for you. Tough luck.

As a hunter, with the proper two trinkets from a lower level frogish looking faction who live in a basin, I was able to farm the 250 with the Unconverted Heros and using the multi-shot without running out of Focus in 30 minutes.

Best place i found was Hyal, directly after arriving. Kill the Stone elementals, respawn is near instant and they dont have much live. Only usefull, if you dont want to loot. Even with 6 others there are enough so no one has to wait.

You can even help others , if you finished the quest / dont have it. Open group and just both kill. The one with the quest will get the trophy from each kill! Helpfull if your partner is lower level or not that fast in killing (helped my GF that way. 20min done in Hyal)

Oh just found another great place. Broken Front - Icecrown.

You only get 5 or so per pull but the mobs go down easilly and respawn as fast as you can kill them.

No need to loot, just round up 10 or so and AOE. Easy.

If you're a skinner, you can farm Darkwood Luker and Darkwood Broomother for Savage Leather at the same time, making a nice profit. Most classes will be able to gather and AoE them down easily, and you'll gain enough leather for an easy ~1-2k gold.

56, 80 in Icecrown is quite nice to farm the Grisly Trophy these as there is quite a lot of mobs bunched up plus there is a guy called Rokir that summons more zombies (like army of the dead) and they are on a fairly short respawn timer.

Sindragosa's Fall (just south of the Argent Tournament Grounds) is another excellent farming spot in Icecrown. All of the mobs there award trophies, and they're close enough together with a fast enough respawn rate that you can run around throwing out DoTs on global CD without ever running out of targets.

On Approdo di Hrothgar (northmost island beyond Icecrown), do a genocide of Kvaldir tribe there. The drop rate there is a guaranteed 100%; and respawn rate is high enough so that after running through the whole island once the mobs shall have already respawned after you're back to starting point.

To site admin: Just confirmed original info is correct with another toon, yet post is downrated twice. Observed something is very wrong with the recent change in comment system; take Pony Marino for example, comments are globally downrated to -5 or -10 for 50% of the comments, some even to -40 or below. When this trend continues I believe the community around wowhead would be wiped out and only troll / fanboys remain.

As an 85 mage, I found Sethria's Roost a nice place to farm these while on "The Protectors of Hyjal" quest.

I made a macro:

/tar Seether
/cast Scorch

and spammed it (rather, let my G15's macro key spam it for me) after pulling a Seething Pyrelord. Got around 7 trophies per Pyrelord, got from around 150 trophies to the 250 needed in 5-10 minutes. Let your friends from the quest whittle the Pyrelords health down.

Just replace Scorch with an attack that has no cooldown and can 1-3 hit the Seethers and you're golden. :)

I know which two trinkets he's talking about and he is right. A hunter can nearly use multi-shot indefinitely as long as something dies each time and never run out of focus.

If you're still doing Firelands Invasion dailies, do the Shadow Wardens side and take your time on Sopportare il caldo. Stand in each blue flame rune 'till a bunch of elementals collect on you, then destroy it and move on to the next one. Lots and lots of ears.

The easiest way i found is at Molten Front in the cave with the blue runes. Run around, let the mobs spawn, use the blue rune = profit! For each "kill" you get one trophy. Done in less then 10min.

Today I found a fairly good place to farm these within a few minutes. However, you do need to be a goodish player. To get to this spot you need to do the trash and first boss in Halls of Lightning on Heroic (haven't tried this on normal). From here you move towards the second boss where the Slags are (level 80 and level 81 20,000 - 21,000 hp each), they are easy to kill and there are 14 in the small area around the forge. Spawn rate is about 10 seconds if that and keep spawning untill you kill the second boss, easy way to get your 250 trophy's :)

Unlike most quests, you can get Grisly Trophies in raids. Firelands in particular is fairly good.

However I was unable to gather Grisly Trophies from Uldar using the vehicles against the dwarves. Fire from the Sky does not give Grisly Trophies either. I would have tried the Icecrown bombing run but that quest is no longer in the game. I'm curious about the other bombing runs such as in Molten Front or Hellfire Peninsula but have yet to test them.

I use Mob Difficulty Colors usually pick green mobs cuz they are quicker to kill then web search to see if there is a spot that they will respawn fast. hope it helps

Is there a trick to getting these as a healer? I've been running randoms and I've had a few runs where not a single one dropped.

Never mind. Must have been a fluke when that was happening yesterday. Just ran BRD (toon in question is only 55 atm) and the room with the fast respawning mobs right before the last boss' room brought me from the 80ish I had going in to the full 250 in about 6-7 minutes.

kk, this item was build backwards. Instead of being built from a quest, it was build from the item. Now...there is no maximum amount you can collect. So they patched it, and you can only carry one stack. For 2 months now 20million people that collect 250 have to run around as listen to "I can't carry any more of those," everytime you kill something your level or higher because the items try to pile up after 251. :( omg.

Regarding the Fleshwerks skeletons: Those are tied to progression in Icecrown. They don't exist after you've completed the quest chain in the area (they're replaced by a bunch of abominations and a couple of colossi)

If carrying both the Darkmoon Adventurer's Guide and the Lovely Charm Collector's Kit, you will only get a Grisly Trophy and not a Lovely Charm with a qualifying kill. After you collect all 250 Grisly Trophies, however, Lovely Charms will automatically start to drop even with either the Darkmoon Adventurer's Guide still in your inventory or Test Your Strength quest not turned in.

Edit: Turns out this is only true with certain mobs. Some npcs will drop a Lovely Charm. You definitely can't get both a Charm and a Trophy from the same killing blow, but you can collect both on the run depending on what you kill.

Edit 2: Hotfix on 02-08-12 (http://us.battle.net/wow/en/blog/4023884): "Players now have the chance to receive both the Lovely Charm and Grisly Trophy from a single kill."

With Love is in the Air and the new Darkmoon Faire going on at the same time, picking up Grisly Trophies seems to be exclusive with the Portafortuna Amoroso, no mob will drop both at the same time. Since Grisly Trophies are a guaranteed drop, it's good it checks for Lovely Charms first, otherwise you'd have to get all 250 trophies before getting a single charm.

AFK farming method for hunters (preferably with ):
1. go to Skadi lo Spietato in Pinnacolo di Utgarde normal
2. clear all the stationary mobs in the hallway
3. stand on the right, by the windows (to avoid frost breath)
4. put pet on defensive
5. go AFK

Farming isn't as fast as other methods, but you can be AFK!

Try Slag which work very VERY well for this and for Lovely Charm as well.

NOTE: Some people can't collect both. But as soon as you fill up on Grisly Trophy you start collecting Lovely Charms again.

A rough estimate is 15 Slags spawn every 15 seconds, your mileage may vary. AOE works nice. The mobs are level 79 so green at 85. Can be done in normal dungeons. (And if you are sneaky you can even avoid having to clear the first boss of Halls of Lightning to get to them.)

Personally, my favorite place to farm these is in Blackrock Depths, in the Lyceum, the room before the last two bosses. There is a whole room of non-elites that spawn in large groups, infinitely until you light the two fires with torches that drop off flamekeepers.

So today while farming the Chosen Zealots in Icecrown to get my grisly trophies i got a Sfera della Super Scimmia drop, Im not braging about it, just using for a reference that these mobs do drop them and are general easy to farm so might be a good idea for anyone

Why downvote? The trinket is like a 1 in 10000 drop chance so its normal very desirable ... concidering the chance is so low, you want to kill as many mobs in the shortest amount of time ... these mobs are great for that

I was doing my Argent Tournament Dailies and i found the best place to farm whilst doing these, head over to Deathspeakers Watch in Icecrown, every Cultist i killed their i got 1 Grisly Trophy and it took me about 15 mins to get from 0-250, the Cultists respawn is good so once you have cleared from one end to the other and head back down they should of respawned, Good Hunting

You can get these Trophy's ANYWHERE! as long as the enemy(s) are the same LvL or Or one or so LVL lower then you're Toons LVL and with "Darkmoon Adventurer's Guide" you can kill ANYWHERE not just raids, dungeons , ect.. but make sure you have the guide or you wont get the trophy's!

When farming these I like to farm other items as well. For example, I may take my tailor the the Restless Front for embersilk as well as gather items for this quest. Or I'll take my skinner to my favorite skinning spots. It seems pretty much any green mob gives a 100% drop rate on these, and since my favorite farming spots are geared toward mass slaughter, they make ideal locations to farm Grisly Trophies.

Easiest place to farm these is while you're doing the Tol Barad dailies and also the one's around Baradin Hold. You'll get credit for both. Everything you can attack around there (ghosts, townfolk, spiders, crocolisks) yields the trophies so you can kill foxes and try to kit your baradin fox kit pet at the same time and even herb, mine, skin and farm other materials around there. Nothing like knocking out multiple tasks at the same time.

I hate to tell you guys this, since there's a chance Blizz would change it... but...

The BEST place to get these are in Deepholme. The Pale Roost and westward (in the grey, non-named areas), there are Stone Bats flying around, hit one and they'll all come, you get a Trophy from each one (provided that your pet doesn't kill them all for you). There are also Swarmers there (those blade-handed thingies that run around in bunches), which you also get Trophies from.

And the greatest part is that they don't have loot, so you can just keep going around and killing without worries. At least, if you're like me and you hate leaving those sparkly, shiny loots... shiny... stuffs....

ANYWAY, I got about 170 in 10 minutes just flying around killing the bats and the swarmers. ^_^

Just tried to farm the last 3 for this weeks quest and went to to TB dailies. Dailies done and I still needed 3 grisly trophies. Seems they aren't dropping off of mobs in Tol Barad for disc priests using smite. Anyone noticed no drops from TB mobs or is this a class bug?

PS I went to Hyjal and killed stone elementals just after and 1st 3 mobs dropped them.

If you're doing the quest "Test Your Strength" in the Dark Moon Fair as lvl 85.
I would strongly recommend all Alliance that you go to Twilight Highlands of Eastern Kingdoms.
Follow the beach from end to another, then you will quickly get the 250 you need

For single target dps like a rogue, fleshworks is easily the fastest way to do this. The mobs there are programmed to always have at least 4 up, so you have instant respawn.

Just run around and 1 shot them, 10 mins of clicking 1 button while on auto run gets me 250 trophies easy.

There are many weak mobs in Mists that you can farm to easily get 250 of these. The easiest that comes to mind is Sapfly in the Dread Wastes. It's located in between Terrace of Gurthan and Forgotten Mire. Has about 16k health and usually comes in packs of 4-5. Very easy if you're sent there for Klaxxi dailies.

If you have a Trial account (Free to Play - F2P) then as Alliance the best spot to farm is Sentinel Hill in Westfall. Level 14 gnolls or defias (depends which Westfall quests you aldeady did). They respawn very fast. This is also the best place to farm Tessuto di Lino too.
I got 30 Trofeo Spaventoso in 8 minutes with my well geared warrior.

Another good spot is the "Three Corners" area in the Redridge Mountains (17,57). Mobs are in the 14-16 level range but most of them are level 15.

For Horde, I found a good spot in Northern Barrens, at Lushwater Oasis, just a bit south of the Wailing Caverns - 40,73. The Tartarabbia dell'Oasi are level 15 so it's a good place to farm Cuoio Leggero too

For MoP, the best spot ive found to grind these out fast is Paoquan Hollow, in the Valley of the Four Winds... the Zijin Hollowflies about in groups of 10 and you get 10 trophies a pack. :)

An interestingly fast place to farm these for level 90's is the Ashweb Matriarch boss in Vale of the eternal blossom. When she summons the spiderlings, they drop a ton of them. I averaged 50 trophies per kill and you can do it repeatedly.

Great thing i found to do as a lvl 90 since the mobs in icecrown they are speaking of arent green to lvl 90s is the stormstout brewery. As a lvl 90 prot pally i can solo stormstout brewery really easily so i just soloed it to the part with the boppers and such that flow in infinitely and i just sat there spamming aoes and killing until i have 250 killed

As a level 86 I found 'thunderfoot Fields - Valley of Four Winds' (its the first flight master you get to once you leave from jade forest) to be a nice place to farm these.

There are packs of easy to kill minion type mice mobs roaming about and soil piles which create more of these mobs when looted. The drop rate of trophies from these seemed to be near 100%.

For level 90s:

The Golden Lotus quest "A Thousand Pointy Teeth" at Whitepetal Lake is a great method to farm these items. The Knifetooth Swarmers only have about 40k health and can be found in groups of 3-5.

Looking for a new place to farm these in 5.1, I ended up at the village in the Silken Fields, in the Valley of the Four Winds. Nice mobs of Tiny Mutated Silkmoth roaming around for easy pickings. I found the earlier comment mentioning Paoquan Hollow was good too, but was heavily farmed at the time I was looking, so found this alternative useful.

These no longer really drop from just any mob that gives xp or whatever. Theyve only been dropping from heroics and raids, NOT even dropping in scenarios. I killed tons of everything suggested here so this must be a very recent hotfix change. pretty stupid. This was on a 90 mage btw, as soon as i entered a heroic, the things started dropping again.
And for another 90 character, the items did start dropping from regular mobs AFTER the faire had ended.
Who knows, I guess this is really bugged because I cant figure out why they dont consistently drop for every character the same way.

The daily quest for The Golden Lotus, La Matriarca Telacinerea, requires you to kill a quest elite named Morsocruento. She's a large spider in the Guo-Lai Ritual Chamber in Vale of Eternal Blossoms. At 85%/65%/45%/25% health, she casts Richiamo Brulicatori which spawns 12 spiderlings. Each spiderling can be one-shot easily and rewards a Trofeo Spaventoso. She respawns ~60 seconds after she's been killed.

48 Trofeo Spaventoso per kill

60 second respawn timer (need 5 respawns, 300 seconds total)

~30 seconds to kill (dependent upon gear, 6 kills needed, 180 seconds total)

48 Trofeo Spaventoso per kill X 6 kills / 480 seconds = 0.6 Trofeo Spaventoso per second

250 Trofeo Spaventoso takes only 8 minutes to collect.

This is one of the fastest ways I've found to farm these trophies.

Now that Mists of Pandaria has given us new areas to farm in, Lucciola Zijin is a good source of Trophies. They move in packs of 10 or so, have only 20k health, and you can easily single them out so you don't have to fight the Incarnazione della Nebbias with whom the Hollowflies share the area. Oh, and they also buff you with the stackable Puntura di Zijin, in case the deal wasn't sweet enough for you.

A surefire way to get these extremely fast is when Bloodtip is up as a Golden Lotus daily. She does an ability called call swarmers, making Bloodtip Swarmers spawn, at low HP, in masses. Just about each and every one of those will drop a Grisly Trophy, giving you up to like 50 trophies per Bloodtip kill. She also nearly instantly respawns. 5 mins tops for 250 trophies!

The Calendar shows the Darkmoon Faire goes until Sunday. Look closer and it ends at 3am. I returned late with my 250 Grizzly Trophys. Will my Grizzly Trophy's exist until the next faire next month? Do I have to make sure I don't abandon the quest or loose the book?

I found the perfect spot for a level 85+ to grind these out easily and quickly. In The Jade Forest, at the Terrace of Ten Thunders there is a never ending stream of Spirito Antico located at 44.4, 15.4. They are level 85, have 24k HP and do not fight back. I gathered 250 in under 15 minutes, just by standing at the portal they are streaming towards and spamming arcane explosion.

I found that good place to farm these is in the Dreaded Wastes, near the 70:32 coordinates. Just farm the Sapflies, they only have 16k hp and don't do much damage. :)

I would like to give my favorite spot to get these after MoP is out and Im in level 90.
Level 85 mobs gives these, so I ran to Firelands and made the daily quest there.
This do not give that many, but take the quest Il Torrione Lugubre and make those aswell, after this the quest Sopportare il caldo is given.
Run in to a Rune and just let them come... I got my trophies in about 10min (from 26 to 250), with very little effort other than some AOE to kill them.
If you want Cata-loot, just kill the mobs in the beginning of Firelands, they spawn fast and you get help killing them by NPC's but take a bit longer.

PROS:
LIFE: around 77.000 HP.
SPAWN: 1 MOB, every 1-3 seconds.
GROUP: They come to you and stand around you in groups.
DAMAGE: Around 30-50 damage/hit when you are in the rune.
EFFORT: none! (After you done the daily Quests)

MOP: for lvl 90 I suggest farming Knifetooth Swarmer (fishy) in Vale of eternal Blossoms in Whitepetal Lake. They have 40k hp (2 shots on my hunter). Or Fairlands Gazelle (116k hp, 4-5 of them in the pack) near the lake.
Don't forget to summon Wikky by Helpful Wikky's Whistle before that (extra flasks are always good!).

A good area for getting these somewhat quickly is the small pond at about 68 30 in Valley of the Four Winds which is just east of where it says Pools of Purity on the map.Lots of turtles ez to kill at 90 with fast rezzes and if you run out of turtles,you can smoke some of those annoying rodents in the caves nearby.

These will be created in your bags from un-lootable adds as well, I was sitting in Sethria's Roost AFK and a Seething Pyrelord spawned while I was gone and started attacking me, this mob spawns Seether adds and when I got back there were probably 40 adds attacking me (as a tank with second wind ability these level mobs can't kill me). I thunderclaped the mobs down and got 40 Grisly Trophies automatically in my bag

I went to Paoquan Hollow in Valley of the four winds at level 90 and got all of them in about 15 mins, earned about 50g and killed a couple of rares. If you kill the packs of flies with your aoe it goes really fast (they have about 25k health), you can kill the mist mobs whilst waiting for them to spawn too. You need the Guida dell'Avventuriero di Lunacupa in order to collect Grisly Trophies now, don't make the mistake that I did and spend ages trying to figure out why none were dropping.

It seems you need to have the Darkmoon Adventurer's Guide with you when doing this quest now. A few days ago I was able to collect the trophies without the guide but after checking the quest today, I had to go pick one up from the DMF NPC.

The trophies themselves are easy to collect from the Spotted Swarmers found around Old Pi'jiu village (Timeless Isle) and are easily killed in packs of ten or so.

Updated MoP area for getting these, Pools of Purity, in Valley of the Four Winds. The turtle spawn at a very fast rate, you can circle the statue in the middle and never run out of turtles to kill. Got 250 trophy's in about 15 mins!

If you are level 79-81 you can't do better than to farm the Sapphire Hive Drones in Sholazar Basin. They are L 76-77, fly in groups of 3 in a small area, and have low HP. As a Level 80 blood DK I could aggro 1-2 groups at a time by flying into them, then land and pull in a couple of bystanders. Once they were close, I could AoE the lot in a couple of shots. I went from 0-250 ears in 40 minutes, with a coffee break and no heals.

If you're on the Isola Senza Tempo, you can load up on these things by doing the daily Scary Ghosts and Nice Sprites event. That's the thing where clicking on the big purple crystal (Cristallo Fatato Imperituro) turns the Folletto Gentiles (surrounding the Everlasting Spritewood tree) into Folletto Furiosos and Folletto Terrificantes for one minute (via the Frantumazione Cristalli buff which also puts a purple crystal on your head).

The best place to farm these at level 90 is inside Stormstout Brewery. As long as you can manage to kill the first boss, you have access to an unlimited and fast respawning parade of Hoplings, which will fill your bags full of ears in no time!

I've been farming these every month on three of my toons near in the Silken Fields however this month, I could only get them on my Mage...nothing is dropping for my Hunter or my Druid not only there but in raids, dungeons and dailies. Has anyone run into this? At first I thought rep may have something to do with this but both my Hunter and Mage are Friendly with the Darkmoon Faire and my Druid is Honored.

Would love to hear if anyone else has had this issue and if so, what they did to fix it.

For my 90s the best place I have found is Zul'Gurub. There are more than enough trash mobs from one run to fully complete all 250 Grisly Trophies needed for the quest.

Also, you have a fair amount of Embersilk Cloth, Savage Leather, and Uncommon / Rare / Epic drops to collect. Not to mention the two mounts (Swift Zulian Panther & Armored Razzashi Raptor) that drop as well.

Another very good option for farming these tokens that nobody appears to have mentioned yet is in the Crypt of Forgotten Kings scenario.

Near the end and just before the final boss there are three Shadows of Anger. These are stationary orbs that do nothing but continuously spawn Spawn of Anger which, as of 5.4.8, still drop Grisly Trophies. The Shadows of Anger stay up after the last boss is killed, and you can simply remain in the dungeon after the rest of your group leaves.

The Spawns are tiny little adds which do tiny damage and respawn almost instantly when killed. They drop no loot, so you don't need to worry about that looting the bodies. You can either stand right next to one pool and just AoE, or you can kinda straddle two pools. Attacking one Spawn will pull the whole group to you.

I've found that a great way to farm these is to kill Razorback Snappers, at Pools of Purity in Valley of the Four Winds. They die pretty much instantly at max level, they're everywhere and for Alliance they're just over the back of Shrine of the Seven Stars :)

Instances are far the best for grinding this - no questers to interfere, and no other grinders.

I have been grinding Pinnacolo del Vortice for the Redini del Draco del Vento del Nord, and have found - A run to Altairus drops around 55 trophies (and 45G worth in drops), and a full run drops around 75 trophies (and 95G worth in drops). A 2 boss run takes me around 8 minutes, and a full run 13 minutes.

You will need 12-15 bag slots for each run.

If you can handle quests on Isola Senza Tempo then you are good to go :)

It appears these no longer spawn from 'little' mobs. I used to farm Piccola Falena Mutata della Seta at the silken fields in Vot4W, but they are no longer giving the trophies.

E: It appears to just be those moths that don't. Currently farming Larva Ik'thik and getting trophies.

If you are not getting any grisly trophies from mobs that seem level-appropriate, make sure your Darkmoon Adventurer's Guide is in your BAGS! It cannot be in your bank while you try to obtain the Grisly Trophies!

If you got rid of it or accidentally deleted it during your toy-learning spree (like I did), talk to Selina Dourman, a Forsaken woman just inside the purple eyeball-gate on Darkmoon Island. She's standing at the first small tent on the left.

Well this will only be relevant for MoP, but go to timeless isle and kil the cranes and caterpillars that circle around Old Pi'jiu. I spent about ten minutes tops and got all the trophies I needed.

I found out that the Lucciola della Linfa and Saprofago delle Distese are great for farming trophies.As a fire mage I LBed 1 mob and the rest died.I imagine it's really easy for all the classes.Have fun farming :)

I have found that the best way to quickly farm these at level 90 is to run circles around the Pools of Purity, in the Valley of the Four Winds, killing the quickly-respawning turtles. It only takes 7-10 minutes to get all 250.

As Sad13uttrue recently found out: the best mobs -- and the best place -- to farm Grisly Trophies are fighting packs of "Sapfly" and "Waste Scavenger". These both are found in the same eastern section of Dread Wastes and are very bountiful.

A couple suggestions for farming at lvl 100.

First, be sure you have the Darkmoon Adventurer's Journal in your bags. As other posts have noted, this must be in your bag and not in the bank for these to drop.

At Eventide Landing in Shadowmoon there are Moonshell Crawlers. These crabs are an Alliance quest and the spawn rate is very fast. They spawn along the coast and by the time a full circuit is made they have spawned again. If there is more than one person here they spawn even faster. There are always a couple up. We had three people along the coast to determine spawning. Everyone killed what was in range and there was always another to kill. This is the fastest I have found for trophies. Bonus if you are a skinner.

Confirmed drops from Garrison invasions. The Botani invasion has a large number of small enemies that make farming very fast. We just completed the Ogre invasion with somewhere between 80-90 trophies. (Did not get gold on invasion so your results may be different.)

Confirmed drops from lvl 90 enemies in MoP. Tested several places with lvl 90 enemies. These are good for fast kills but many are in daily quest zones so results may vary based on server population and time of day. The spawn rate is decent but ran across a couple others farming that slowed us down.

As a final note, these will drop from anything that gives exp. or honor. So farming laughing skull in Everbloom was giving a trophy every few seconds with full stacks of mutagen. Any farming will complete this even if it isnt as fast as other options.

The best way that I have found at 100 is in Vale of Eternal Blossoms. The whole middle section of the zone where everything is "sha-touched" there are groups of vestiges of pride in packs or either 3 or 6 which are very easy to kill.

Pools of Purity in Four Winds and Sapflys in the Dread Wastes no longer work. Blizz nerfed the little turtles down to like level 85 and the sapflys down from level 90 to 89 so that at 100 you can no longer kill either for grisly trophies.

Go to the Plains of Serenity at Level 100 and kill packs of Talbuk roaming around. They are level 90 and are dispatched easily. Do not forget the guide has to be on you. I am there right now killing them for my last 70 trophies. The bonus is that if you need to capture mobs for the barn you can do it at the same time. Level 100 hunter using barrage, kills 12+ at a time. Very easy to farm the mobs. If you want a more profitable way to farm, then go to the Mogushun Palace (spelling on that). Mobs are 90 elite but drop motes of harmony, green BOE, and windwool cloth.

Really any spot in shadowmoon valley will work but Gloomshade Grove and the Talbuks are king I say. So many to farm.

I've found Rodiroccia Mordicchiante as a very good source during the quest Assalto a Magnarok in Frostfire Ridge. There's always a group of them and they respawn very quickly.

For Level 100's out there wanting to get these rather quickly, There is a spot a little southwest of The Draakorium around 51, 57 where there are a lot of Swamplighter Drones and Riot Blossoms, plus a cave with the hive queen inside with quite a few more Swamplighter Drones to kill. They all die pretty fast and have a fairly fast respawn. High pop servers may find this location difficult to farm the trophies but low and medium pop servers shouldn't have a problem with it unless there's more than 5-6 people farming them too. I spent maybe 10 - 15 minutes here and acquired all 250 trophies. Good luck out there farming and feel free to let us know if this spot was good for you too.

I have found a awesome place to farm these little things. The grizly trophies. In the quest you get from Darkmoon Faire. You need 250 of those to complete the quest. Where to farm these you ask?

- Go to Niuzao Temple, Townlong Steppes.
- Kill all Sra'thik
- Fast respawn
- Around 10- 11k hp

You will get 1 Grisly Trophy per Sra'thik you kill. And since you now are lvl 100 in 6.1. It will be pretty easy to kill these bastards. You dont lose to much health either.

Timeless Isle, especially Scary Sprite event started from Cristallo Fatato Imperituro can earn you all 250 trophies over one minute , if only you have enough sustainable AoE damage. Getting buffs from shrines/drops/island food also helps.
If you end up missing some or go there but Spritewood is not there, there are plenty of mobs in small packs to kill, or just running around trying to farm out some pet or toy.

I found that farming these directly under the entrence of Hellfire citadel at the iron horde camp worked quite nicely, got 150 of them in around 15 minutes or so. Lots of level 100 mobs that were decently easy to kill. Respawn rate wasnt that super great though so you might find yourself waiting for mobs to respawn.

A new suggestion for farming these things at lvl 100 are a couple of areas in Shadowmoon Valley (Draenor). I recommend flying over the Burial fields (ghost bonus area) and nearby Shaz'gul. The mobs are in the low 90's and drop like flies. There are a couple of camps in the Burial fields of Void Priestesses which are very nice to take down (between 6-9 of the ladies). Shaz'gul has a great mob density aswell mostly packs of 2-3. You can also fly around in the field area a bit and grab groups of mobs (Elekk's, Iron Horde, birds etc.). Respawn time is pretty quick.

Its not as great a method as the old bee method and such but still pretty quick at 100. Took me about 15-20ish minutes. Doesn't work aswell if there are people questing in the area. Hope this helps.

As a fresh 110 DH tank I did the Heroic Dungeons Iron Docks and The Everbloom. After finishing both dungeons I had all 250 trophies to turn in.

For level 110's as of this post's date trophies are farmable from any WoD dungeon (Heroic/Mythic). I suggest running Iron Docks and pulling all the trash up to first boss. This will net you 40 trophies per reset.

It seems the fastest way to farm these on any capped character, whether it be 110 now or 200 in the future, is to solo the previous expansion's heroic or mythic dungeons, as those mobs are still green to you and should die fairly quickly. As of February 2018 (Legion), I just run Everbloom and Iron Docks because they are painless and in the same zone.

In BFA my favorite place to farm these are the Rifugi per TrollGurubashi Attackers in Tal'Gurub. Now, you can still attack/kill them even after the world quest is complete, but I am not 100% sure if you need the world quest up or not. Either way I was able to clear 250 in <5 minutes.

If you are aligned with the Night Fae and have unlocked the Mushroom Transport Network, take the 'Mushroom to the Deep Unknown' especially if Marasmio's daily 'Into the Unknown' quest is the one that spawns Fungo della Fauce Frenetico. They respawn almost instantly and the drop rate is decent.

For Shadowlands 60s, the best place to farm is probably the skirmish the Wild Hunt is having with the Drust on the left-hand side of the road from Tirna Vaal to Hibernal Hollow. Instant respawns, lots of targets, all low hp. I sat in a place in range of 4 Hunt fighters, popping near-dead drust with Shadow Word: Death on my SPriest and got it done in less than an hour.

Good farm spot for Shadowlands, Starlit Overlook in Ardenweald, mobs have less than 9k health, are bunched up and have a spawntimer of 30-40 second, they drop alot of cloth aswell, good luck!.

If you have tourghast achievments or mounts to get layer e.g. 12/16 flawless this is a great way to get trophies. I don't know if it's faster than other methods but for a relatively geared toon, it was pretty quick. Plus no need to loot if you unlocked the box of many things talent for auto loot. patch 9.2.5

I just go to the Deaths of Chromie scenario. The enemies will always give trophies regardless of expansion because of the level scaling. Plus you can get the damage and speed buffs from the hourglasses so it gets quicker the more you kill. My preferred spot is the Emerald Dragonshrine because of the clusters of weak enemies.
