This ring was Stendel's wedding ring until a very evil fish ate it and took it from him.

It can be found by catching the same evil fish on Stendel's Pond, a small lake just northeast of Moonbrook in Westfall (credits for Dan21 for the map).

I find it sad that today's heroes, instead of delivering the ring back to its owner after so many years of search, wield the ring for their own benefit.

Long gone are the days of the true heroes, it seems. Sigh...

I finally got one of these after fishing up 12 Stendel's Banes. In the process I went from 450 to 518 fishing on one toon, and 65 to 300 on another. The whole process took about 7 hours of fishing time.

Now I am wondering if I should go with the original thought of giving it to my twink, or selling it on AH. I would expect it would go for well over 1k g, but that extra 5 crit for a level 10 is very tempting...

I have fished up around 27 or 28 Stendel's Bane fish on various toons but only 1 ring so far which was on the first catch. I thought the ring would drop more often so I sent it to my new hunter(lv13 atm) I am building up, Hyacïnth of Kor'gall. Had I known the ring would only drop so seldom I would have sent it to this toon Packrat of Kor'gall.

I have noticed a pattern when I successfully fished up Stendel's Bane the 3 or 4 th time, My fishing skill was at n67 including fishing rod(+skill) + lure(+skill), example: fishing skill 212 with strong fishing pole(+5 fishing) and night crawler lure(+50 fishing). On this toon i have 4 fishing poles, 2 regular and 2 strong, one of each is enchanted with reinforced fishing line for +1 fishing, i also have a set of gloves with a +5 fishing enchant. Combine the right pole, lure, fishing rum, other enchants and buffs to keep the total fishing skill at 67 or 167 or 267 or 367 or 467, ect to maximise the Stendel's Bane fish you catch. I say the drop rate of Stendel's Bane is around 20% to 25% at skill n67. Once I started to notice the pattern I also noticed I never caught Stendel's Bane at any other tottal fishing skill than n67. I am starting to suspect something after 27 to 28 catches of Stendel's Bane, the wedding ring can only be obtained 1 time per server or account by fishing, the rest need to be bought or gifted from friends.

BTW Axemeister, you mentioned gifting the ring to your lv 10 twink, that will not work unless the ring is made lv 10 in some future patch, the ring still requires lv 11.

Just to clarify:
* Horde can get this, there is no quest involved. Just fly/ride up from Grom'Gol with a few hours to kill.
* They are not unique or unique-equipped. You can fish additional rings with them already in your bags. 2 can be equipped for some absurd crit in the 10-14 PvP bracket.

Using Seth's Graphite Fishing Pole it took 598 casts to get two(2). Started at 319 fishing skill, ended at 371. Results were:
365 Raw Longjaw Mud Snapper
127 Raw Bristle Whisker Catfish
94 Raw Brilliant Smallfish
11 Stendel's Bane. Contained:
* 35 Brilliant Smallfish
* 27 Nightcrawlers
* 22 Bright Baubles
* 11 Reinforced Fishing Line
* 9 Aquadynamic Fish Lens (Wowhead lists them as 'no longer available within the game'. They are available as of 6/2/2011.)
* 2 Stendel's Wedding Band
2 17 Pound Catfish
1 19 Pound Catfish

I bet this is worth money on the AH, especially on RP realms, since it's the only BoE wedding ring and it makes sense for a wedding ring to become soulbound. Even on non-RP realms, it's great for any alt that needs a lot of crit (BG-leveling rogue?).

Easy to get. I went there just for this ring with a fishing lvl of 1. Caught Stendal's Bane at fishing lvl 30 - no ring in it that time - and caught another at fishing lvl 75 with the ring in it. Great if you are doing lvl 10-14 battlegrounds. Edit* wow I did't realize it was boe... maybe i'll fish up some more....

I wish there was a quest or something where you take the ring to Stendel or put it on his grave (idk if hes dead but there are 2 graves near the pond im assuming are his and his wife's) and in return get a reward of some kind. Like a some BA fishing gear, or like it rewards you a book that increases your fishing skill (permanently) by 100 or something, maybe armor, a pole or something.
So a heads up to any blizz employee that might read this. This is a way to spice up fishing :D

Over the years I have gone to some ridiculous lengths in the name of twinkage...this tops them all. Have been sitting at this pond for two days on my level 13 hunter. Levelled fishing from 91 to 525, made over 4900 casts, have fished up 23 Stendel's Bane fish and received ZERO rings. All this for a ring I'll use for two or three levels of BGs. Feel free to try your luck, but this is one item I'll never look for again for future twinks.

Edit: After 7139 casts the ring dropped from Stendel's Bane number 41. Ya, that's right, I said...FORTY ONE!

Gives a 3.71% boost to ranged crit on my Lvl 13 hunter. Now the big question: since it is not a unique-equipped item...do I go for a second one and dual equip? Not...a...@#%#$%$#...chance!

My fishing must be broken. I have cast about 200 times and haven't even gotten a single Stendel's Bane fish, much less a ring.

This is my personal experience with trying to fish up this ring.

As stated above, this ring can be fished up in Stendel's Pond. It's the small pond in Westfall just south of Sentinel Hill.

I brought my level 14 hunter there in order to fish up this twink ring. I started at fishing level 0. The fishing level required for this lake is level 75 so I bought a couple fishing baubles to help me until I got there. You will level fishing to 75 in literally 75 casts so that will go by fast.

I found that I got one Stendel's Bane about once every 45 mins or so of constant fishing. Once you get it, the drop rate for the ring inside is still pretty low (wowhead says 8% right now). I finally got the ring once my fishing hit level 365. For any of you that fish, you know that takes quite a few casts.

Now, I'm going to try and get one more. I'll come back and edit this post after I get my second ring and let you know where my fishing level ended up being. I find that saying my fishing level is a more accurate representation than saying "I fished for a week..."

A couple more things... Both Horde and Alliance can fish in this pond. The drop rate doesn't change if you have level 75 fishing or level 300 fishing. You will still be able to fish up Stendel's Bane even if you have Stendel's Wedding Band in your inventory.

edit: Just got my second ring. Got it at fishing level 523. Literally two levels away from max fishing...starting at zero. Good luck to everyone! You can get it/them. It will just take some time and patience.

Hi all, just saw how hard to get this. Luckily, i read about this trinket, go to the lake, and after 20 minutes fishing (strong fishing pole + lucky fishing hat + 375 fishing skill) i just found the fish, and inside everything, included the ring. Maybe tomorrow try to find another one :)

I've got two "Stendel's Wedding Band" after 210 cast more or less
At fishing level "333", 4 stendel fish for 2 Stendel's Wedding Band

Don't forget buffing your fishing rod with +50 or 100 !

J'ai drop cet anneau deux fois dans 2 plaie de Stendel, après plus ou moins 210 tentatives ce qui m'a pris environs 40/50min en pêchant en tout 4 plaie de stendel. Mon niveau n'était pas encore maître au moment où j'ai pêché, et j'ai up jusqu'au niveau 333 pour finalement obtenir ces deux anneaux qui seront géniaux pour ma twink priest nv.11

En espérant avoir été clair ! :)

I have went from 0-600 fishing trying to get this ring. I have spent months here just to try to get it. Today after 286 cast I finally get the ring. Keep trying if you have yet to get the ring, because it is still there.

I farmed this ring over two days.

The first day, I fished a solid 3 hours, and fished up a total of 3 Stendel's Bane. The third had the ring in it. I'm not sure about the number of casts, but it was many hundred.

The second day, my first cast contained a Stendel's Bane, which had another ring in it.

5/5/16 - Was flying by on the way to farm Deadmines and I figured "let's take a few casts."

25 casts later, I had the ring. I assume I'm rather lucky, judging by the other comments.

I'm wondering if this still drops? I am level 700 fishing skill and have fished up 20 of the Stendel's Bane fish with no drop of the ring so far. Probably more than 3000 casts and about 7 hours of fishing. Wondering whether to give up, so would be good to know it does still drop.

Fished this up today:

762 casts in total
5 x Stendel's Bane (got it in the fifth)

I got my first Stendel Bane at 184 casts, 2nd at 370, 3rd at 542, 4th at 722, 5th at 762 (roughly one every 180 casts, aside the final one).

300 fishing skill, no rod/lures etc, just the default fishing button.

There hasn't been one listed on my server for 2-3 years so hopefully it'll sell reasonably quickly.

April 2021, decided to fish up Stendel's Wedding band and got it on my second Stendel's Bane. Took about 1 1/2 hours. With all the item level changes and what not, I am not sure how wanted this ring is for twinking, but it is still cool because of the RP possibilities. I have 300 fishing skill, a +13 fishing skill pole, a fishing hat and was using a sharpened hook lure. :)

Fished up Rovina di Stendel at 5:02pm server time (Area-52 US) in the middle of Stendel's Pond after 119 casts using the Canna da Pesca di Sottoluce with 300 fishing skill (+64) and looted Fede Nuziale di Stendel on my first attempt (https://imgur.com/wUeUmrs)

From the Rovina di Stendel, I received 13 Lenza Rinforzata, 4 Periscopio Acquadinamico, some random low level mats and lures.

Through all of this... I still have yet to catch the Fede Nuziale di Stendel I've been after... I will update this once it's caught. I'm committed now.

My gear:

Pole - "Canna da Pesca degli Alienatori" with attached Lenza Fortunata di Rook
Helmet - Cappello da Pesca Consunto (I used the hat for +7 Lure)

Classic Fishing Skill level was <75 at the start, and I level all the way to 300 here. I did NOT catch a single Rovina di Stendel until I was fishing level 236.
