The spirit has several quotes, two include "Release me from this torment!" and "Have I not paid enough yet for my sins?"

For those who do not know, he was a quest giver in the old Freewind Post, but he was a Grimtotem spy all along, and this is the reason he suddenly vanished before Cataclysm hit.

Also quotes I have noticed are:

"I did it for my clan!"

and

"Who are you to judge me?"

So what if he betrayed us, I don't even think murder deserves having one's soul enslaved to be in agony for eternity.

I love this item, Its a good low level trinket. I'm level 50 now and I still use this thing for a little more damage. That and having a slave is fun.

I loved questing through Thousand Needles on my first toon ever (a hunter), and the steamboat (that you get to keep forever, even though it only works in this zone) plus this trinket were the highlights. This trinket worked amazingly on my hunter. As soon as I shot any mob, Cliffwatcher Longhorn would spring into action, running up and punching it for 30 seconds. I went to this area & quested here (repeating old content) on my new Balance Druid alt specifically because I wanted this trinket, it was so much fun to have on my hunter.

But for some reason it doesn't seem to proc correctly most of the time with the range-casting boomkin... sometimes I'll call out "the traitor" just after casting Starsurge on a mob (then immediately applying my DOTs & armor sundering, when fighting a single target) and Longhorn usually just stands behind me doing nothing until I suffer a melee attack. Sometimes he'll stand still for a full 20 seconds, run up to the mob and get in just one or two punches before vanishing... other times he never attacks, just stands behind me watching me fight for a full 30 seconds... very, very rarely he behaves like he did with my hunter, the way he was clearly meant to, immediately assisting me in attacking my target, and continuing to attack until he despawns.

Has anybody else had this problem (and if so, with what class & spec)? It is still a fun trinket, but there definitely seems to be a bug (probably in how the proc to make him start attacking was defined) with ranged casters in general, or with boomkins at the very least.

I should have mentioned this in my initial post, but while questing through this area you'll be given the quest: Special Delivery for Brivelthwerp, for which you are given an I-Scream Cryocannon. Check the screenshots by clicking the links, I think this thing looks awesome. It moves (the six runed "gears" rotate in different directions) and looks great... and you can keep it forever, should you choose to. As long as the quest item is in your bag, the pack will show on your character. Sometimes (after vehicle quests etc) it may appear to vanish off your back, but it always returns the next time you sign in. It can't be traded, mailed to an alt, or anything like that... you'll also lose it if you do a paid race/faction change.

If you want to keep this cool backpack thing forever, accept the quest, but do not complete it. Do not delete it from your quest log (this will automatically delete the quest item from your inventory) and as long as you keep the item in your bags, you'll have it forever. This doesn't interfere with your ability to complete 60 quests to get the loremaster achievement.

I should note that while the pack doesn't appear stealth/camouflage when those abilities are activated on your character, it DOES stealth to everybody else. So don't go throwing it away thinking you are giving away your location by having it on.

With the Horn of the Traitor, summonable River Boat, and this cool blue pack that will have envious players inspecting your gear and scratching their heads, Thousand Needles is where I take all my alts once they hit level 38.

One of those trinkets you keep around even at max level, just so you can call him up from time to time and see him grovel a bit more.

Why yes, I'm not too happy about him killing those poor other tauren.

His practicality is pretty awful. I'm leveling in northrend, try it out, and he's level 43 and hits for about 6-7 damage.
