These go for absurd prices over here.. about 2 to 3 gold for something low level enchanters need. I'd advise people with little money to seek out a friendly blacksmith to make one for a less exorbitant price. Although the situation on other servers may be better.

go mining and enchanting and mine some stuff for the rod give them to someone from your guild to make it for free and that is i think that this is going to be the cheapest way to get it

I would gladly pay 2-4 Gold for the Silver Rod. Tonight I checked the AH in Stormwind and it's 25G. It's not just the economy it's greed.

On Mannoroth these are currently selling for between 70 and 90g a piece. Even though this isn't my first character and I can easily afford it, I refuse to pay that...

just bought the silver rod for 3g 75s in madoran (US) and truesilver was around 9g while one silver bar was 2g so it would save a little bit if you find a blacksmith.

the going price that i saw on Aggramar(US) is 6g though there were several for 1g 33s...i had a buddy in my guild make it for my mage. i hadn't even considered looking on the AH, given that most items that are needed like this one go for outrageous price.

Sorry if this is spam... I've got a Silver Rod for sale and well, I want to make money, but not be greedy (or get ripped off either). Trying to find a happy medium can be hard especially when you see some for sale at 25g ... if anybody is interested I'm on the Nagrand server (NA) under Nenta... let me know to delet this or not.

1. Have two characters, one of them can be a main or both can be alts

2. Get Mining and Enchanting on one, Tailoring and Blacksmithing on the other. Preferable to have a level 80 main be the one with the former combination (ESPECIALLY if, like me, said main is a tank, +120 stamina with Toughness, ring enchants, and no dailies needed for patterns like JC :D ).

3. Farm cloth and minerals with the main, send it to the alt.

4. On the alt, make rods and greens for disenchanting, and maybe even gear if you need it that badly and you're a cloth or plate-wearer. Alt needs to be level 65 or higher if you plan to grand master both.

6. Easy Enchanting leveling. Oh, and... PROFIT!11!11

I'm on Horde on Alexstrasza-US. One guy in the AH is selling it for 5g, and it's the only one on the Horde side.
Guess I lucked out.

I lol'd when I saw the mats required for this... Its priced 100g on Talnivarr atm. Have stayed like that for as long as I can remember. This is the only thing thats stopping me in lvling my enchanting profession >:(

Wanted to buy one yesterday, but the AH was empty. So I decided to find a blacksmith to make one for me. I had materials for it since my alt is a miner. I stood in Orgrimmar for about 30-45 min trying to find a blacksmith, offering 25g for making it. I got 0 responses. I'll try again today.

The question is, why is enchanting relying on blacksmithing that much? I mean, there is no way to level up if you don't heve the appropriate enchanting rod. I know that other professions require materials created by other professions too, but in most cases those are not needed to advance past specific skill level.

Silver rods start at 40 gold and end at 75 on Burning Blade. It's crazy.

Silver Rod along with all but the Copper Rod are now no longer needed, you only need a Copper Rod for enchanting now.

This item was GRAY in my AH today on MG. I dont know if this ROD is now skipped or if Lower rods are not used at all? I am looking into this.
