Lootable after killing all the elementals near the rift, needed for the quest

I bumped into this event quest in Nagrand doing Nesingwary safari. It's camp defence that appears to be here every hour (bumped first at 18:30 than checked 19:30).
If u defend camp from earth elementals red stone appears and you can get quest from it.
I have no idea if there are any others but still may be something with other elements in other Outland places.
It's Otland verision of this quest name is "A natural occurrence" and the quest item is "Rift shard" - cannot find this at wohead now so i post it here.

Just found this in Honor Hold after a lot of Searing Elementals started appearing. Killing all of said elementals allows you to get this item out of the rift... I'm assuming this isn't just an Honor Hold thing and probably occurs randomly. Cataclysm related, as the quest's category in the quest log is "Cataclysm." The quest is called "."My quest tells me to take the shard to an Earthen Ring Emissary in one of the Alliance cities.

You pick this item up for the quest 'A Natural Occurrence', you'll also receive an elemental powered buff for 60 minutes.

Each melee attack, ranged attack, harmful spell or healing spell has a chance to increase your Energy, Rage, Mana or Runic Power gain by 15%.

Turn the quest into any major city on Azeroth.

Edit: Just turned it in, it's a daily quest and the questgiver asks you to give him/her more of these shards.

This is the item you get for the daily quest from any rift in outland. the quest is "A Natural Occurence". Any other dailies you get from any rift except those in Outland are "Hammering it out".

The Outland quests are also available to Alliance, my DK did it @ 6.32am server time in Blade's Edge Mountains--earth elementals. Pre-Cata events to be handed in to the Earthen Ring NPCs in SW, IF, Exodar or Darnassus.

No buff was given.

Quick addendum: my 80 Hunter was not able to obtain the shard from Honor Hold (but did get the fire elemental buff); either she got there too late to "count" ot the elementals were too low a level?
