whenever the kraken daily is up i allways go with a friend or two for the tooth. what i remembered a few days ago is that if you get the tooth, deliver its quest, but not the other daily, you can fly again for another tooth.
you wont be able to turn it in, but you can allways save it for the next day in case the daily isnt kraken again :)

Got this item even when Kraken was tapped (health bar was gray). Just did the killing blow. Don't know if the person who tapped it got the tooth too. Was groupless.

Anyone who contributes to damaging it before it resets (submerges and moves to other boat) gets a tooth in their inventory upon its death.

Seems most people don't know about this quest. At least on my realm....Misha. So if you are looking this up.....yes it's true and you can get an extra quest for 13g if you kill the kraken. Me personally, I like my gold, so i will always try to group with someone for this even if it is soloable. Good hunting guys.

Yes, I was able to take out the kraken in 6-7 harpoons at full health. But the tooth didn't not drop.

On beta you DO get a tooth for killing the Kraken (even solo). So it must be a bug on live.

It is possible to get more than one of these per day. I had only thrown 7 spears at the Kraken when it died; I got the tooth, turned in the tooth quest, then went back out to throw the 8th spear. I killed the Kraken again, and got another tooth. I was unable to get the quest again, but I suspect that I'll be able to do the tooth quest again tomorrow, regardless of whether or not the Kraken daily is available.

It seems that they greatly increased the damage the spear does. I was able to get him down on the first swing around the boat. Very easy to solo this now. It was a pleasant surprise while doing Get Kraken!

One detail:
- you do not have to loot the Kraken
- the Tooth appears in your bag at the time of kill.

Currently, you can kill the kraken within one path, whilst mounted for the quest.
If the Kraken dive and change position whilst you try and kill him, his HP will reset.

Once you killed the Kraken and got the Tooth,
let the gryphon finish the round,
and go turn the Tooth quest in.

Do not turn the Get Kraken quest.

Re-Mount to do another round, and get another Tooth.
Finish the Kvaldir kills and complete the Get Kraken quest as well.
Hand in Get Kraken quest.

You are then ready for next day:
- Hand in your previous Tooth quest.
- If the Get Kraken is on offer again, you will get a new Tooth... etc

Wow, I didn't even know this quest existed all of Wrath... and I did Argent Tournament dailies every day. I noticed they had changed the quest to 8 spear throws, and then was surprised that I ended up killing the kraken... I thought this tooth quest might be new, like the change to 8 throws, so I looked it up here. And to my surprise, it always existed; I was just bad. :(

Gotta admit, I was in the same boat. Read the entry for the quest to pick up my old macros (new character, wanted the bridle), saw the entry on the tooth, and said, "Hey, that's a neat touch I can't believe I never saw. I should go out and get it!"

Then checked my bags, and it was already sitting there, waiting for me. I'm bad at this game.

I can confirm that this item is still available as of patch 4.2.2. I was able to get it very easily in a single run around a boat. I then turned in the "Get Kraken!" quest and went to see about killing the Kraken without the mount for the tooth. I was able to successfully do it as an ilvl 364 ret paladin popping cooldowns as soon as he emerges from the water. He is stunnable and that prevents him from submerging for the duration of the stun. However, I was disappointed to find that I did not get a tooth for killing him. Does anybody know if you're able to get the tooth for killing him on foot if you're still on the "Get Kraken!" quest?

It seems you need to kill him while the quest Get Kraken! is in your quest log.
Today I killed him with normal combat and I didn't get the item.
It was fun killing him normally though, but you need pretty high damage to do so before his HP resets.

I didnt know this quest before. After reading the information listed here i tried to get the quest.
But it doesn't seem to work all the time.
I had to kill the Kraken 3 times before i got finally the quest.

A few notes and observations:

In order to get a tooth you have to be mounted on the Argent Hippogryph doing the Get Kraken daily quest.
It takes 8 Flaming Spears to kill the Kraken, however it seems that for the Get Kraken quest only 7 register, meaning you will need to throw one more spear after killing the Kraken to complete Get Kraken
The effect has a limited range (150 yards). You have to be within this range when the killing blow happens. Because of the time it takes for the spear to fly from you to the Kraken, if you are flying away from the Kraken as you fire your last salvo, it is possible to be out of range when it actually hits and lands the killing blow
All people doing the quest and flying their hippogryphs who are in range of the Kraken when it dies get a tooth, regardless of how much damage they dealt or who got the killing blow, or if the other players are in a different party or even faction
It is possible to solo the Kraken from one of the ships (or while swimming) but killing the Kraken in this way does not yield a Kraken Tooth for anyone except those flying overhead doing the Get Kraken quest.
Once you have handed in the quest for the day, you may fly out again and collect a second tooth to hand in the next day, provided you haven't yet handed in Get Kraken. This enables you to turn in the bonus daily if there is no Get Kraken quest the next day. If Get Kraken is up the next day, then simply turn in the Kraken Tooth before doing Get Kraken, so that you have a tooth for the next day, etc
The complete flight lasts 2 minutes 30 seconds

This item is still obtainable via killing the North Sea Kraken, this quest IS a daily, although it rewards NO Champion Seals.

The "Max Stack: 10" in tooltip seems to be wrong. I got "I cannot carry more of that item" error if I kill the second Kraken.

As far as I know this is no longer available on your own. You can't damage the kraken enough to kill it, and it regenerates health. Maybe with a concentrated effort of multiple players. Going to miss the extra gold on my daily runs.

Currently it seems to be impossible to kill the Kraken dei Mari del Nord since Patch 7.3.5 with Fiocine Fiammeggianti.

I only get it down to ~70% HP.

This quest is essentially no longer available...because the devs heard so many people complaining (rightfully) about it dying in one hit, they went to the far extreme in "fixing" that problem.

I'm lvl 110 and doing so little damage, I cannot kill it; I literally cannot hit it enough times in one pass to kill it. I'm literally doing only 3% damage per pass, and when he jumps to the other boat, he resets to 100% health, so I could only get him--on the most optimal path after several attempts--down to 48% hp before I'm out of range.

I managed to kill the Kraken dei Mari del Nord today during Occupati del kraken! and I did not get the Dente di Kraken. I guess it has been removed from the game as well as the quest it spawned Identifica i resti.
