Actually, it will probably be the exact opposite. After being complained that it isnt practical to use in PvE environment due to the knockback, this glyph will very much likely remove the knockback effect while also lowering the cooldown or something else minor. Remember, its a MINOR glyph, not a major.

Edit: From the icon (blue ink for the symbol) this will most likely be a minor glyph, but I haven't seen confirmation from the PTR yet.

Pros:
Lower mana cost, No pushback means less angry tanks (PvE). You can cast this during OS without causing enrages on all the adds.
Cons:
No pushback means more hits from melee classes and no interrupts on casters (PvP). Also might mean the difference between that last zombie chow making it to gluth or not.

when i see this glyph i just kinda go "eh"...

it would be nice to use typhoon without #$%^ing tanks off, and would increase my dps slightly (i would still only use it on aoe)...BUT...

raw damage isn't all you should be thinking about. and well...this isn't exactly a mana efficient spell anyway (for single targeting) lol.

i use my typhoon in heroics if a clothy dpses too early and pulls aggro, or something is on the healer. it knocks them away and usually gives me aggro, which doesn't really matter since i'll have nature's grasp on if it gets to me.

edit: i forgot to add that i use it to interrupt caster mobs that i burn down...or if it looks like the healer is struggling to keep up with healing the tank, it gives a second or two to finish topping him off.

In OS, the fire ele adds actually lag behind the tank a bit for each lava wall and end up getting hit by it an enraging..what i like to do is use typhoon to knock the elements out of the way...in Naxx...well..gluth,and other general aoe situations where i think hurricane will just be too much mana...i don't usually have a pally in my 10 man naxx groups >.<

tl;dr version: this glyph takes out the utility of typhoon to make it some basic aoe skill on a cooldown. utility > aoe-dps epeen.

I think this'd be better if it did something like increase damage instead of reducing the mana cost. Or maybe the Glyph trades the knockback for an Interrupt effect.

I love Typhoon, KB and all. I am specced for it as it's useful for a couple of fights (Deconstructor, Gluth, ...) and tons of fun in PvP.

Last night I got mind controlled during phase 1 of Yogg and typhooned the entire raid into the clouds.

I'll be buying this glyph tonight, as swapping glyphs is probably going to be cheaper than respeccing all the time...

I hope they'll alter the encounter so that we won't cast knockback skills.

This is apparently turning into the Glyph of Stars in Mists of Pandaria, which changes Moonkin form into an Astral caster form (and, subsequently, will make me want to play Balance). Think of it as Shadow Form for Druids, but sparklier!

EDIT: Funny story, when you shapeshift into "moonkin form" with the Glyph of Stars, despite not actually being a Moonkin, you still make the awful "wark!" sound.

In the Mists of Pandaria beta, this currently changes Moonkin form to a Shadowform-esque transparency. Instead of hueing you black with a translucent glow effect, it gives you a blue hue with a lightish blue glow effect that follows you around.

As stated, the benefits are the same as Moonkin form.

Can anyone confirm if you are able to use a Elisir di Granstrippo, Pesce Mutante all'Acquapazza or other such transformations with this glyph? I get the impression that it works the same way as allowing you to use transformations.

In Mists of Pandaria this glyph has changed. Typhoon is still a talent, but now available to all specs.

At the moment there are several sound related issues with this glyph:

1. When you shift into Moonkin Form, you will still hear it's screech/scream.

2. When you get hit by a critical attack or something similar, you will still hear the Moonkin screech/scream.

3. When your passive called Owlkin Frenzy procs, you will still hear a very annoying Moonkin screech/scream.

You might not look like an annoying ugly fat moonkin, but you will still sound like one :(
Hopefully blizzard will fix this.

It's a shame, I think. I liked the Balance spec very much, but I couldn't stand the moonkin form. Then I got this glyph and thought it'd be better, but it seems to be meh as well. It's a choice between being an obsese chicken, or transparent.

This glyph basically makes you semi-transparent and you'll be covered with falling stars.
I like this glyph because:

No more blocking the views of shorter ones behind me
No more blocking my own view of shorter ones in front of me
I can actually see where my loot is in front of me

This applies for me both in the default Moonkin form and my normal form (as a big bulky Tauren).

Because we are constantly shape shifting, Druids get the short end of the stick when it comes to transmog. Thanks to this glyph, balance can show off their fancy-shamcy transmog. Since resto only shape shifts when it needs to, they also get to be fancy.
Then theres feral/guardian specs. As much as I love prowling around as a cat or soaking up damages as a bear, I would also like to show transmogs. If we could get something like this for those forms that would be very wonderful. Of course it wouldn't be stars, maybe something along the lines of what Malfurion looks like (Paws replace hands and feet)

Unfortunately your character will still screech like an annoying moonkin when he/she is hit, and the passive moonkin frenzy will also make annoying screeching...

If you have a problem with inadvertently falling out of form stay the hell away from this glyph since its much harder to take note of the change during combat.

Bad news to those who loved the original star form : it has been given a very blue tint.

There is also a graphical issue that some people (myself included) are having where it looks like your chin is being attacked by an astral tentacle monster. I found this fix in the forums, originally posted by Sergrand over at mmo-champion:

As of patch 6.1, Glyph of Stars no longer works on your mount. It only works on your character.

Hopefully they'll one day give the option for the old version of this. The new one, for me, is awful and
ruined my mog set which irritated me a lot. I've only recently started playing him again because of that,
in all his chicken glory :(

It sounds as if they have finally fixed the "Moonkin sounds" when your character gets hit or while changing into Moonkin form. Now when changing it sounds like a small whoosh sound and being hit is your characters normal voice.

Just wanted to put my 2c here and say I noticed Cloudsong Glaive looks completely different with this glyph active.

Instead of the smooth flow it turns all icy and stiff.

Makes me want to not use it as a transmog, or spend as much time as I can outside of form to avoid looking at it. Which is a shame cause it's a beautiful model.

I can't recall any other weapons that suffer from this glyph like I feel this weapon does.

Edit: I'm playing on a laptop with Fair settings right now, and I obviously turned everything to Ultra before I posted this. I don't know if that changes anything, or if this is just a problem on my end and it would look good on a better system, so I apologize if that is the case.

This Druid glyph, was altered in Legion. This is applied directly to your spell, in your spellbook.
Removing a glyph: use Vanishing Powder on the specific spell, this will remove the effect, however, if you want the glyph again, you'll need to rebuy it.

As of 8/12/2016, I'm finding that even when I form switch, the effects of Glyph of Stars are still applied. Bear Form, Cat Form, Travel Form (all 3, including Orca!), as well as humanoid form. I tried relogging and switching specializations, but upon switching back to Balance, the effect once again prevails in all forms.

I spoke to other players in my vicinity, and they confirmed that all of my forms had the astral effect from Glyph of Stars. Darkspear, level 90 Nelf Druid.

Can anyone else confirm? Thank you!

*Edit*: Upon further digging, I discovered that effect is from Blessing of the Ancients. Blessing of Elune has a visual effect identical to Glyph of Stars, which was the source of my confusion. Of note, Glyph of Stars overrides the solar look of Blessing of An'she.

As of right now, this glyph is no longer in the game as an appearance option.

The appearance aspect of Glifo - Stelle has been written into the Balance talent Benedizione degli Antichi.

To be a functional Balance druid, you still have to be in Forma di Lunagufo with this talent. There is no "humanoid" form options anymore.

If you are upset about this, then the best way to change it is to give (good, constructive) feedback on the forums. There are multiple topics in the druid forums about this, and how it fits into the class fantasy.

We did get them to bring back Treant Form, and so only by giving constructive feedback will this change as well.

This will change the appearance of your Sandstone Drake and Obsidian Nightwing. So if you're into sparkly spacedragons and other fun beasts...like I am...celebrate :D

Taking a wild guess that any mount you actually shift into (instead of simply mounting) will retain your cosmic appearance...haven't tested it yet with Dragonwrath, Tarecgosa's Rest, but willing to bet my last silver it'll work the same way!

I don't know if it was "fixed" somehow or another issue but as of today, I noticed my Moonkin Form with this glyph is not ethereal-looking but just a blue hue with falling stars effect of my elven form. I will also add a screenshot. Another note; Flap is also usable in this form.
edit: I guess it was a bug or something but my "blue-hue" form returned back to ethereal-looking form. Was happy for a bit but, oh well...

I left the Legion because of that blue shade in WOD - Legion. it disgusts me that my transmogr turns completely into a blue shade, nothing is visible, disgusting and disgusting. Why does Blizzard constantly touch this form? I do not understand why this is all! leave this form alone, make it like in the original Pandaria and enough already to cling to it !

Flap is now usable with this glyph! Sadly you miss out on the amusing flap animation with moonkin model but no longer miss out on having a slow fall ability. The Glyph of Stars version of flap causes a levitate animation without the cloud and instead having greenish streams coming from your hands as you move.

The effect of this Glyph is visually the same as one half of the now removed Legion Level 90 Balance Talent, Blessing of the Ancients.

My memory is spotty, but with that Talent (i.e. when in Balance spec), all shapeshift forms--including Flight Form (and the Legion Druid class "mount")--would be subject to either the blue tint (as now seen in this Glyph), or a yellow tint. Both tints would come with it's own passive player-only buff as well. Really the starts were primary, and the effects were secondary.

I believe the overall Druid class/spec design and even the Balance resource system in Legion was vastly different and arguably overly complex than it is as of today, if not a little fun/interesting.

So, now that the Shadowlands pre-patch made Druid shapeshift glyphs barbershop customizations, why is this not one? It would be nice to have the option to change my Moonkin form to this when I want to instead of having to buy or make the glyph.

Note that as of the Barbershop form picker changes, the shapeshift glyphs became learnable "Mark of" items, eg Glifo - Volatile Umile, found in the Miscellaneous>Other section of the AH. This is the only druid customisation that remains as a glyph.

WHICH GLYPH? If you can't find where the glyph is applied, I am Balance, went into Spellbook (P) 3rd tab down (Balance) and clicked on Moonkin Form to check the glyph I already had applied. saving you a minute here :P

As of today... Worgen Druid with Glifo - Stelle and active Calma del Lupo will show astral worgen form. I'm assuming this is intended since the moonkin form is considered shape shifting/in combat?

There is a bug that if you had this glyph applied for a while, it will not show in your talents as an option to remove.

To remove this glyph you can apply it again (even if it's already applied), and it will then allow you to remove the glyph so you can be a chicken again.

Just as a heads up to any droods coming in wondering why they can't learn the glyph -- because of the way talents work in Dragonflight as of October 5, 2023, you actually can't learn the glyph until at least level 13, since you need two talent points in your class tree to unlock moonkin form. Once unlocked, you can right-click the glyph in your inventory and apply it to moonkin form. This is in spite of the glyph being "learnable" at level 11. Hope this helps!

Edit: also, when in astral form, your character screen (the window that opens when you press "c") will show your character as literally pure white -- no textures at all. Mine also seems to be wearing different gear, but, since everything's literally just white, I can't tell exactly what gear she's wearing.

Strange to see that they chose not to rework this glyph to add the option to the barber shop when all the other druid form glyphs are doing so with 10.2. They could easily classify this as a "full transformation" like our old moonkin forms, letting us swap between Astral and Owlkin forms more easily now. (of course this would have been a good patch to give us a nature version of the Glyph of Stars too, for druids who wanted to be more emerald-colored, but I guess no one at the decision-making level thought of this)
