The glow effect is the same as on Crusader, i.e. faint white (or gray).

It depends on the proc rate, hidden cooldowns, etc. If this thing can keep me healed up then I'd prefer it to 50 attack power any day. -rogue.

I testet it 18 minutes @IF dummy. Hitcapped, 630 hits and 53 proccs. I didnt use any styles, just white hits.
18 min / 53 procc = 2,9444 ~ 3 PPM
As writen in the tooltip it proccs for 140 to 160 HP

In one entire CoT 4 run I used 583 swing / next swings (HS, Cleave, white hit).
And I used 240 instant styles (Devastate, Revenge...)

823 hit generated 63 proccs which is ~13 hit per proc
13 x swing timer (1,60) is 20,8 sec per procc, which is equal to 2,879 PPM ~ 3 PPM

after patch 3.0.8 this enchant heals for 330 average now (160earlier), and crit 450-600. The procc rate is random but i'd say around 5%.
It often procc two times in a row, which is a nice amount of 650hp in a few sec =)
It also procc on Heroic Throw (warrior).

I find this enchant best on a Bear Tank, it since it procs of melee attacks, swipe triggers it and heals you constantly. Especially when running lower level instances like Ramps.

hey guys,
(first: english isn't my first language)
after i wiped ten times at moroes in kara and then finaly kill him with only 1k hp left, i needed something for better survivability (druid feral tank)
now i have this enchant on my staff and made some tests on a training dummy and have here the result from recount and my brain =>.

3.1.1 / 11th may 2009

first i made 5 min auto attack in cat form (attack speed : 1) = 300 white hits.
i get 16 lifeward heals for ~332 = 5476 heal

then in bear form (attackspeed : 2.5) i made again 5 min auto attacks = 120 white hits
i get 18 lifeward proccs for again ~ 337 = 6209 heal

should be the same.
so you see the heal isn't % of you max life (cat:24k, bear:30K) and your attackspeed doesn't matter: 3.4 ppm (proccs per minute)
the heal is ~335 and it crits around 500, the chance to crit isn't my spell or melee crit chance, it's around 3%.

then i made 5 min cat attacks to an training dummy: 300 white hits AND 100 mangle hits.
20 lifeward proccs ~ 7000 heal

so you see that lifeward proccs on styles, too. (i come to swipe soon)

i tested also 5 min, when i am only renewing the rake and rip bleed dot and auto white attacks. i get only 16 proccs (like at the time i made only auto attacks).
lifeward doesn't procc on dot ticks

now the best thing:
i were standing in the middle of the 4 training dummy in orgrimmar and swiped in bear form. i spamed swipe (nearly every gcd <1.5 sec>) (always full mana because of "primal fury" talent)
5 min = 120 white hits and 175 swipes (700 swipe hits)
lifeward procced 109 times for 36,610 heal. sometimes i see the green number 3 times at the same time on my screen.
36k+ heal in 5 min on 4 targets

if you go solo in the old raids or instances like me, you will love 30k+ life in 5 min against 4 targets, with 10 targets or more you will always be at 100% hp i guess =)

5 min with 120 hits ~ 17 proccs
so 109 - 17 proccs came from swipe
700 hits = 92 proccs
7.6 hits = 1 procc
13% procc chance

sum up:
~335 heal, ~500 crit (3%)
with your white attacks you have 3.4 ppm
your style hits have a chance of 13% to procc lifeward
dot ticks doesn't let lifeward procc.

i hope i didn't make any mistakes in the calculation, let me know
my english has maybe a lot of mistakes, but i am german.

Got this enchant today and "tested" it while clearing sethekk halls for anzu. During ~2 hours of fighting it procced approximately 5 times as far as my combat log tells.

I didn't ran any tests afterwards as im to lazy for that. But I suspect that it was either nerfed recently or the cubei test is incorrect in regards of swipe.

Im dropping this enchant now, can't see any value in it.

I just got this enchant yesterday and played with it a bit last night and I think I really like it. I'm leveling a prot warrior and I've noticed a difference, this definitely increases survivability for me. One fight I happened to have but this and my revenge stun proc repeatedly and i actually had more health after the fight than before (taking very little damage + this is a nice combo).
At 4 eternal life and a shard it isn't cheap but it's not terribly expensive either. My main is an enchanter so I'll be keeping this on my warrior's weapons till 80 probably.

Awesome for soloing stuff, also very great for leveling.

My Druid Tank husband had a seperate stick for soling and one for raiding...In Heroics he started using the Lifeward stick by accident...Was able to solo lots of trash without me even healing him. Also great to help out heals in hard fights, he can take a boss by himself for awhile with Imp Leader of the Pack and Lifeward.

This is a formidable enchant for Druid tanks who are geared enough to take it.

I'm also using this on my Rogue, leveling in Northrend...AWESOME for DW'ers...And with Darkmoon Card Heroism or the AP trink from Zangamarsh, you've got barely any downtime on eating or bandaging, which makes you a leveling machine, especially with BoA shoulders/chests and rested :)

I used this last night in 10man Ulduar. On multiple boss fights I was healing myself anywhere between 50-90k health between this and Improved Leader of the Pack. The ILotP was about 66% of my heals done and the Lifeward about 33%, regardless of the fight.

So, it's just some preliminary raid testing, but I'm liking the idea of adding 50% to my ILotP gains...

So is this a fair enchantment for tanking, PVE, or both? When I don't tank (prot warrior) I'm out leveling and questing in Northrend so anything to make both of those roles easier would be a godsend. (this is an honest question so please don't downrate it)

if i would get this thing as a rogue...and put it on my both weapons will that double my chances exactly or will it just increase by some % or just remain the same?

and lets say it does double my chances to proc that means if i spam fan of knifes will it proc like in druid's swipe?

I'm playing rogue and got lifeward on my main hand dagger, i read some earlier postes talking about a cooldown - i dont know if someone already mentioned following - i've expirenced it proc 3 times in a row within 5 sec, in two different combats, so there dosnt seems to be any cooldown

I've just ran a few tbc heroics as druid tank with this enchant and (by recount) out of 100% healing Lifeward did 20.5% while ILoP did the rest. In my opinion, this is a very good enchant to use while soloing...

proc'd 12 times in the minute i was using it and as the tooltip states (heals you for 310 to 356) i was getting right in that range. it never crit for me but always stayed in that ranged. =)

Just played with the heroic training dummy. ILotP hit 7 times for 9738 healing and was 79.3% of heals. Lifeward hit 7 times for 2536 and was obviously 20.7% of heals. The average healing was 356 and it critted twice for 510. I only fought the dummy for about 30 seconds, so...I'd say it's viable. I replaced my mongoose.

It might not have a "cooldown" per mob but it might have a cap to how many times per minute it can proc per any one monster. Quite interesting enchant for a soloing rogue tho, gonna keep an eye on this one.

Unlimited amount ready to be sold from a vender. . that it is easy to get to. And no rep requirement? If so, awesome!
In addition, Im thinking of using this on an 80warr to solo old school content, combined with Bloodthirst, it should be good.

Tested today on dummy. used skills as in combat usually.

5min test 6357 heal so around 21.18 HP/sec

That includes 6% of bonus healing from Field Dressing talent skill. (additional 20% doesn't apply , since Lifeward is not self-healing ability)

i just did a solo run of suken temple with my twink lvl60 warr.. it tricks 34 times in the fight with Shade of Eranikus and it heals me about 10k health, and warr himself only have about 8k health without any buffs.
basically this is great for twink soloing or pvp
