And to think, all this time my Feral Druid tank has
been kicking herself for taking Herbalism/Alchemy
and not being able to drink potions in bear form.

Now, she can drink everything she makes and gets
a beautiful tanking trinket that puts her existing ones to shame...

you guys do realise that this trinkets stats are balanced to lvl 70.. hense why it says 75 right on it. Expect to see other "amazing" trinkets. Though.. the whole pot equip is kinda ignorable due to only being able to drink 1 pot in combat

using this http://wotlk.wowhead.com/?item=33447, to gain an extra 40% healing gives an additional 1080 to 1800 health from the potion, for an average of 1440 health. couple that with http://wotlk.wowhead.com/?spell=55503 and you've got yourself a pretty nifty recovery method.

That is a rather flawed statement. Ironshield potion is not really a 'reactive' potion. It is something you drink when you see "readies arcive cleave" not "Nibblez takes 13,000 damage from Brutallus' Meteor Slash". And you dont need the alchemist stone to get the bonus. This baby right here http://wotlk.wowhead.com/?spell=53042 gives us the same effect for everything else. (except mana/hp pots, that is what the stones are for) And it really is about 40% more depending on the elixir/flask/potion and doubles the durations.

*edit* The amount of extra damage mitigated through Ironshield pots would be much higher than the amount you gain from the use of a HP pot, and given the recent pots nerf the use of ironshield pots is even more situational.
And no that is not true either. All 'combat potions' share the same cooldown, this includes the 1-2min buff pots, elemental absoprtion potions and health/mana pots. So you will drink EITHER one ironshield potion per combat OR a health potion. And for an ironshield potion to be better than a health potion (assuming mixology for ironshield and trinket for health pre wotlk) lets do a little math.

*edit* math removed cause I redid it today and it was wrong. In circumstances where you will be taking ery large physical damage hits an ironshield potion will likely be better however the thing you have to keep in mind is that you only get one per battle now and a shield potion is useless when used in response to something

*edit2* its possibly my numbers are not completely correct but I will quantify that it depends on what your current stats are because the more armor you have the less % dmg reduction you get from it (f.ex. going from 10k armor to 15k armor gives you almost 10% more dmg reduc but going from 20k to 25k is a little less than 5% increase in dmg reduc since the % is based on the % of increase and not the value itself) So if I was back in kara rolling with instance blues and about to fight Prince? Hell yes Id use a stoneshield potion but if I was in a raid about to pull Archimonde..probably not because going from 22k armor to 25k really wont help much more than a potion would and I use a potion for emergencies. So in the end they are both situational and now that blizzard buffed alchemy they both are more powerful for alchemists.

@Doubleb, it is true that its less effective now but my disagreement with the OP was him saying "its ignorable" well no its not ignorable at all. Now that the ONE potion you get per battle is 40% more effective. It certainly isnt as effective as pre-3.02 w/o the trinket but it is better than no trinket at all.

@mbison the number of pots people would drink in a fight depended on the class sice some had better mana regen than others. The biggest drinkers are mana based dps especially those that had horrible mana pools like hunters. I remember as a raiding hunter (even pre-tbc) I could burn through 5+ potions in a fight without giving it a second though, downing one every CD. Blizzard obviously wanted to stop that and so they changed the way combat and potions worked but since many people would go OOM after a minute without potions they had to give plenty of forms of mana regen to everyone.

All that being said this baby is definately going on my prot paladin.

*shrug* 1.83% avoidance and the 75 stam will make this a nice trinket for at least naxx, as for the 40% more hp form potions that people are calling negligable one word, "silence" iron sheild dosent give you that damage migated all at once whereas a healing potion could mean the diference between life and death in those 5 second silences we all know and hate

This trinket, combined with http://www.wowhead.com/?item=35748 is a really good combo for avoidance, and with the +54 Def rating on the Guardian stone, it can help you make the 540 Def cap.

Combining these you get:

+54 Def rating
+50 Dodge rating
+75 stam
+40% on Mana and Heal pots.

Those are some very nice stats for a tank.

A good trinket but the hardest/most annoying of the three to create imo.

The pygmy oil is the ingredient that unless you devote a good amount of time or money into will make this trinket hard to obtain. Definitely worth the effort though, and the stamina boost will be appreciated by many classes.

At first glance it seems like a good pre-raid, blue trinket

But try to get rid of it, just try. Every time I try to replace this thing a void forms within me. It's a great trinket. Really amazing itemization and a nice bonus.

This is probably one of the best tanking trinkets available if you've already reached the defense "cap".

Yes, the EoH reward trinket gives more dodge, but it doesn't give you any stamina.

This trinket is more of a nice blend between the EoH and H AN trinkets with the added bonus of making potions more effective. I would get the defense trinket out of HoL and then replace it with the "upgraded" version found in 10-Nax, but keep this trinket in your 2nd slot. A large chunk of stamina and dodge rating all in one trinket is just too good to pass up.

Oddly only (4) four blue trinkets have +stamina http://www.wowhead.com/?item=37220, from alchemy http://www.wowhead.com/?item=44323, and the rest 2 of them are from JC http://www.wowhead.com/?item=42341 http://www.wowhead.com/?item=44063,

There are only (2) TWO epics that provide +stamina so far, both in Ulduar
and it is a bit! difficult to get http://www.wowhead.com/?item=45158 and http://www.wowhead.com/?item=46021

Some of these blues... are still preferred instead of the epic ones with NO stamina bonuses, because they have! +stamina and some even have sockets for even more bonuses

My hunters an alchemist. He's also a survival hunter, and so using both Might Alchemist Stone and this stone together, the stamina bonus you get combined with http://www.wowhead.com/?spell=56341, The increase to overall damage is very nice!

This item counts as a Philosopher's Stone, you will need one for recipe's at higher levels of alchemy

The increased effect on potions can be quite nice for grinding even when you end up with better trinkets later in the game, having to switch them out for the bonus healing/mana is a bit of a pain in the butt though.

This macro should make it a bit easier, it'll equip the stone and then use the Endless Healing Potion (could change to Endless Mana or something else if you'd prefer), a right click on it will then re-equip your old trinket (I've got Swift Hand of Justice in there now but you can just sub for whatever you're using). If you use in combat you will still use the potion but you can't change out your trinkets in combat so there would be no need to switch it back. Makes grinding a tad quicker.
